What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Glad your BGs behaving itself now.
I love spicy food, but I haven’t seen the M&S shawarma, can you post a photo so I know what to look for please? I’ve made Urvati Pitre’s IP version a few times and really like it, but sometimes even an IP recipe is too much faff.
Re the party: every year I say never again lol. There may well have been a stiff drink afterwards, I think the thought of it was all that kept me going!
It takes 50-55 mins to cook. I reckon it feeds 4 with veggies. Definitely too much for just two people. Picture below. It's part of the M&S collection range. Not suitable for freezing apparently nor should you reheat it (I suspect the spices would burn and the chicken would dry if you reheat.
I'm glad my BGs are going down too (although I'm missing my coconut bars).
My nightmare party was a fancy dress one. The youngest was about 4 and dressed as an Oompa-Loompa complete with make-up, wig, the lot. Elder was Charlie of Chocolate factory fame. Charlie came dashing in to inform us loudly that the Oompa Loompa had removed all his clothes and was on the bouncy castle! Turned up he'd stripped to his pants but an orange face, almost naked child was still a sight to behold 552762011_0_640x640.jpg

Brunch - mug of Marmite with butter, small piece of cheese, small plain Greek yoghurt. Dinner will be vaguely Mediterranean - aubergine, peppers, courgettes, leeks (instead of onion) tomatoes, bacon lardons, thinly-sliced cheese, olive oil, garlic, turmeric, cayenne, vegetable stock cube, herbs from the garden, all baked in the oven. Leftovers will go in lumpy soup tomorrow.

Had my salmon yesterday evening. It turned out to be disappointingly small and thin so I seared it quickly and had it with some potato salad. Not frozen, so a bit dangerous for BG. However, BG stayed only just out of range, which is a surprise.

FBG today was only 7.5 as well. Things needing to be done, so I left eating until pretty late on - after my Welsh friend had been and gone again, so about 12.45. However, just before she came I tested and BG had surged up to 22.9! On the strength of 2 cups of tea. Took a correction dose and joined her for a cup of coffee. I didn't take a cup cake from the ones I'd made - honest. BG down to 14.9 by the time she left. Had a couple of slices of Lorne sausage with cheese melted on them and another few bits of the potato salad. BG now (3.55 pm) 6.4.

I will have more food today. Neil bought some rump steak this morning, so it will be that. No veg!

I suspect you might too! You don't have masses of veggies to contend with. I think the lot would be a challenge though.
You’ve laid down the gauntlet now!

Today wasn’t quite as planned. Was banking on Five Guys for brunch ahead of catching a train home, but got delayed trying to sort something in my Airbnb and didn’t have time. Instead picked some bits up from M&S - sausage rolls (removed pastry), nuts and rolittos. The latter have made it home and may become dinner, or tomorrow’s lunch.

Like the sound of that. Never had Marmite and butter before. Shall have to try it.

Monday 10 October bed 6 8 FBG 7.2. We had the joys of our winter vaccines this morning. Hubby had both. I had the covid one but delayed flu fir 3 weeks. The fact a have a temporary "reaction" to the Covid jab leads to this delay. Thankfully it was Moderna today which I'm mostly fine with. Got a busy week coming up.

B just TAG then usual school run, jabs, quick trip to Lidl then rush back as niece was getting windows painted.

L Early - eventually had 2 slices of SLC toast with ham and coleslaw.

D. Leftover cold cuts , pork and egg, ham, chicken with stuffing, smoked duck, wafer thin roast beef, mortadella, coleslaw.

About to have a large gin and zero lemonade with sliced strawberries.

I have now moved on from jumpers and coats to shoes. Hotter had a sale on so I have 2 pairs on the way - walking pair and "going" out pair. I have to wear flats due to spinal injuries and they have so many nice flats.

It's bigger than it looks!

Thanks for the photo. I was in M&S today ( trawling for yellow sticker bargains) and I did look out for it but couldn’t see it. I’ll know what to look for next time. It looks really good, but I agree with @Goonergal I reckon I could easily eat half. We’ll see!
The Bouncy castle tale made me laugh - I had a similar experience when my eldest was 3 and started stripping off on one. I had to try to bounce in to try and get her but my bouncing wasn’t as good as hers so she was able to stay out of reach, the whole embarrassing show earned a round of applause from watching parents.

No idea why the last post appeared twice. Sorry.
No chance for breakfast as I had to do emergency school run, but ate 1 leftover chipolata around 10:30
Lunch was a new (to me) DD recipe Chicken, asparagus and feta salad. Really nice, I’ll definitely have it again - the lemony dressing was super. It tasted much better than it looks.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: Coconut cappucinno take out and a carb killa bar.
Lunch: I had a small packet of Cheesies to keep my brother company while supervising my parents house clearance.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a Carb killa bar.
Dinner: chilli con carne with tomato, garlic and herb cauli rice (A Full Green packet before any one asks for the recipe!), which was all very brown so no pic today! Followed by SF cherry jelly and cream.

Arrived back home almost two hours ago after a long day of travelling, with a cold and diabetes misbehaving, especially after the beer with my neighbour.
Hungry but too tired to decide on something to eat, so I guess it'll be pork scratchings and chocolate in bed.
