Yeah, yeah, I know I should be able to boil an egg, especially if I want a hard boiled one, the easiest of all, rub it in!
Still, if given the choice of eating undercooked eggs with pieces of shell and half raw beans or needing meto, I'd be very happy with my meal.

Glad the tablet did the trick in the end. My best friend has a condition which leaves her nauseous 24/7, likely for the rest of her life (which should be pretty long at 43), nausea is horrible.

You take care to keep eating enough if the nausea persists, @Riva_Roxaban , and don't hesitate to seek help with that if eating enough becomes a struggle.

Long may it last!
It’s even easier.

Egg(s) in saucan, covert with water and bring to the boil. Once boiling, switch off and ignore for quite a while.

after a suitable ignoring pour the water off and replace with cold water. Ignore a bit longer.
when you remember drain the eggs, dry and store in the fridge.

that’s how I do my brekkers eggs.

Edited to say, I just hate typing on my iPad. < Grump Off >

Aha! I’ve found this via Google. Do they look like this?

And back to food. Feeling hungry but not really fancying anything so have eaten some leftover deli meats and drink plenty of water. Not sure what will follow later.
Very similar.

Currently chewing a sweet because of a sudden hypo. Libre said 2.9, which will be about 3.1 on fingerprick. Very shaky. Might have to have a 2nd sweet - just about to start a Zoom meeting and Neil has gone to do some plumbing work on his brother's house. I'll manage.

That's what I do if I want to precook eggs. I make it even easier, bring to boil, turn off, forget about them until I want to cook something, hours later. All cooled and ready for the fridge. :)
Doesn't work if you want a warm egg though.
Most of my cooking doesn't need multiple components being ready at the same time, and I'm not good at juggling timings for different foods.

Happy New Year (of the rabbit).

today has been quieter than the last couple with no NY firecrackers or fireworks at every moment.

Today’s food has been as follows:

Brekkers, my salad thing with hard boiled eggs. I really enjoy it here, but would never consider Sriracha sauce at breakfast time at home. Purely mind set, of course.

Lunch didn’t happen. We had a few errands to get done

Dinner was stir fried vegetables, with chicken. It was a very large portion. MrB had chicken with cashews, in a black bean sauce, with steamed rice. Also a very generous portion

Yesterday at the local market I spotted this bag of crackling. The hand belongs to MrB, just for a notion of context on scale.

Massive pieces!!

10ish few spoons of kefir with my supplements followed by one slice of bacon, egg and LC toast
1ish a spoon each of sauerkraut and kefir with some pieces of blue cheese a couple of walnuts and seed crackers.
A LC cookie mid afternoon with my usual black weak tea. I don't note it but drink lots of weak black tea through the day and evening plus a coffee with cream with breakfast. I love weak black tea but continue to struggle with black coffee so prefer to restrict how much coffee but have with cream! @DJC3 opposite to you I know your go to is black coffee but you can't do tea without milk!
5ish roast chicken with a few carrots and one hm small roast potatoe with glass of dry white wine about to heat up a LC brownie and will serve with yoghurt.

I like this idea. I’m very good at ignoring eggs. Now I just need to remember to hang around long enough to see them boil first, not wander off and hear them explode an hour later.

Today I had a cheese omelette and h/m sauerkraut for breakfast.
Sunday lunch/dinner at 3pm was roast pork (with crackling which was minuscule compared to that in @AndBreathe ‘s photo ) cauli and broccoli cheese, puréed swede, buttered green beans with garlic and almonds.
DGF cake. 2 Montezuma’s Absolute black snowmen. I wish I’d bought more of these in the sale, they are just the right size for a cocoa hit.

Oh well, new chance tomorrow, can't be worse than today!
Much better today!

Didn't burn the sausage, the beans were cooked just right, and I didn't bother with the egg because of my multitasking skills.
Instead I added cream cheese, a small piece of Danish blue and some parmesan, very tasty.

And I just remembered there is still a small piece of my friend's low carb chocolate cake in the freezer so I'm about to have a dessert too! :hungry:

Tablets (oral)
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and an Aldi protein bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Tea at ILs: cold meat, cheese and salad buffet followed by one Jaffa cake!

Milk makes no difference at all to BG. That's fine - it was the result I really wanted. But something is happening to make my BGs drop really low as the day goes on. It might be something to do with gradually moving my basal dose towards taking it overnight. I have to reduce the amount of my bolus dose as well. Today I took it down by 10u before each meal - obviously not enough although the full pen delivery of 60u has not been enough in the past. Tomorrow will reduce it by another 5u for each meal. It's an ongoing experiment.

PS The Swiss Dry Frying pan didn't work. It produced heat but when I took the lid off the pan was half full of water - the pork belly pieces were steamed or even boiled. I had to take them out and fry them in a heavy pan to make them edible. It would probably be OK for roasting nuts or somesuch, but I think meat or vegetables will always be too wet.

My palliative care team, and my GP are on the ball when I phone them with any problems. So all good there.

Glad your medication made you feel better and hope you can keep on feeling better.
I have plenty of meto's in the bag I keep my medication in.

No breakfast.
Walk with a friend. Very cold so headed straight up a hill to get warm. Walked a bit further than we'd planned, then found an escaped calf so had to retrace our steps uphill back to the farm. In all we were out and active for 2 and a half hours. No chance of getting cold.

L: 3 scrambled eggs and a coffee with cream
Fell asleep in chair !

D: roast beef, broccoli, celery, carrots and swede. I small Yorkshire, gravy. Had elderly neighbours in to share. Always good company.
One lc dessert of a berry bake with extra berries. 1 high sugar dessert of the macarons made by hubby yesterday, which I passed on.
Some white wine and soda, and far too much hm damson vodka. Tried making the latter with sweetners but didn't taste at all right so did end up adding some sugar syrup.
2 chocolate truffles.

For that kind of thing, I try to use very ripe fruit and no sweetener, to achieve the sweetness. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so that might not be acceptable to you.

I use a Mosa Soda Splash for infusing. The beauty of that is using it with N2 (not CO2) cartridges, it infuses spirits (and other liquids) really quickly. I can make Sloe Gin, Raspberry Vodka, Ginnamon (Cinnamon infused gin) in 45 minutes in batches as small as I care for. The canister holds 750ml, full. It makes for great experimentation. We have tried some truly "interesting" concoctions. For off the wall experiments I usually go for no more than 100ml.

For things like cherry, raspberry or strawberry infusions, the fruit can be eaten afterwards, but it is utterly lethal in terms of sobriety.

It seems like the Soda Splash is discontinued by Mosa, so jump in if you fancy it. At under £25 it's not the most expensive gamble.

It does make excellent carbonated water too, using CO2 cartidges, which are pretty cheap. I daresay someone will have worked out the Soda Stream syrups dilutions somewhere, but I've never bothered investigating that.

2 meals today. Breakfast was early (unnecessarily so, it turned out) and so consisted of 2 slices of toast with lots of butter and a cup of tea. Following yesterday's plan to cut down insulin, I only used 50 units and took it about 20 minutes before eating. BG spiked. Well, I guess I expected that. Or I should have done. It's yo-yoing at present (FBG 7.0, then 13.4 after toast, then 8.5, then 10.9).

Second meal will be Lorne sausage and some h/m baked beans. Plenty of veg in the beans, so probably shan't add any more to it.

I'm taking a break from the coconut milk for a few days, and see what happens, then I'll make some more and add it to the mix.

I did take the basal insulin quite early today - about 4 am. Still trying to get it as far back as midnight.

Spicy food which is too hot. Nasty people who have no idea on your life journey but feel the need to comment and be cruel.
Coffee and cream x 1
Coffee and unsweetend almond milk
Chicken thighs x 4 plus cherry tomatoes
1 oz Nuts
