Black coffee all morning.
L- fried mince with tex Mex spices, grated cheese and lettuce in a DGF wrap. Followed by DGF cake
D- 1/2 a pheasant in made up sauce: pancetta, mushrooms, shallots, red wine, bay leaf. It was nice but the leg portions were a bit tough. I should have cooked them a bit longer and slower. Few nuts and a Montezuma’s Absolute black snowman to follow with a mug of tea with milk. I’ve given up trying to do without. It’s easier if I just stick to one mug a day and enjoy it. The rest of the day it’s coffee and various other teas I quite like. After dinner it has to be a real cuppa though.

Went to the sea today, definitely the wrong spot for collecting seaweed. Technical story to do with it being the 'wantij' (couldn't find a translation) where two currents of the upcoming tide meet, resulting in lots of muddy sediment. Long story short: can't walk out far enough for seaweed without getting stuck in the mud.

Found a cool video on how to transform nori sheets to tasty crunchy snacks like the ones that scarred @Annb so much though!
So much better than the store bought ones!
I used olive oil, that being the only cooking oil I have, worked fine. :)
It didn't go as smooth as in the video, but I guess it wasn't her first time as it was for me so that's ok!

Turned the last of my veggie-pork belly-peanut sauce dish into a thick peanut soup with a semi soft boiled egg and some of the nori chips. Had more nori chips when passing tham on my way to the bathroom. Will have to buy more nori, I absolutely love this!

Today was the second half of the soup with the last of the pork belly so tomorrow will be new food.
Had it with a fried egg instead of a boiled one this time and sadly without the nori snacks.

I did make more than enough for two days yesterday but made the mistake to leave them in a container on the counter I pass by multiple times a day. So by the time I prepared my dinner they had all gone, one by one...

Spicy food which is too hot. Nasty people who have no idea on your life journey but feel the need to comment and be cruel.
Coffee and cream x 2
Smoked salmon
Pepparni mini Nuts
Was going to have a nice dinner today and tomorrow. Put it in the oven. Instructions as per cooking label. Came out like a rock!
Rescued a few ounces, rest in the bin. Think I might have set it accidently for microwave rather than roast.
Might have cheese later.

Tested the milk theory well and truly yesterday and today. Result - milk is not an issue. The times BG has risen after milk must have had another element to it because BG has been dropping both days almost to hypo levels. Will have to adjust insulin to cope with that.

Breakfast: Goonergal's beef mince "casserole". Tea with milk. More tea with milk later.
Lunch: Chicken mayo sandwich with 2 slices ordinary bread. Glass of milk.
3rd meal: more of the same (need to use it up before the chicken goes off) but without the bread.

There was another glass of milk plus more tea with milk during the day.
Struggling to keep BG up to a reasonable level.
Makes very little sense to me - there are obviously factors that I haven't taken into account, or am completely unaware of.

Em has been here all day - playing lots of "songs" for me on You Tube, making a concoction with raspberries, coconut and chocolate, and playing our version of "Where is Kazakhstan?" using the new globe.

Very chewy undercooked runner beans with butter and salt, a burnt sausage (this is the 'good' side, don't ask about the smell in the kitchen) and a rather random almost soft boiled egg with pieces of egg shell. The egg should have been a hard boiled one mashed with butter to go with well cooked runner beans but it wasn't to be. The pieces of egg shell were because I expected a hard boiled egg so I ended up with a mess of egg and shell when trying to peel it.

Oh well, new chance tomorrow, can't be worse than today!

@Annb I completely agree- there are so many factors that I’m evidently unaware of which affect my BG. Each time I think I’ve cracked it, I realise I haven’t!

FBG today 7.1 - no idea why.
Black coffee as usual until brunch of cheese omelette and sauerkraut
Wonderful afternoon at the theatre. Paul’s birthday treat Glass of red during interval.
Dinner at nearby fish restaurant. Starter - shared my grilled sardines and Paul’s scallops. Main was roast cod loin on buttered veg ( replaced the polenta it was supposed to have) more wine. Got a bit of a headache now tbh, worth it though, it was a super day.

Woke up feeling like death warmed up, I had slice of full strength wholemeal bread and mug of black coffee to get my medication something to work on, especially the metoclopramide nausea tablets.
Cold chicken leg for smoko / lunch plus another meto' tablet.
Two cold hard boiled eggs for six minutes @Antje77 , some mixed salad, another meto' tablet which seems to have done the trick for supper at six.

Half a glass of single malt before going back to bed.

Feeling a lot better this morning.

Yeah, yeah, I know I should be able to boil an egg, especially if I want a hard boiled one, the easiest of all, rub it in!
Still, if given the choice of eating undercooked eggs with pieces of shell and half raw beans or needing meto, I'd be very happy with my meal.

Glad the tablet did the trick in the end. My best friend has a condition which leaves her nauseous 24/7, likely for the rest of her life (which should be pretty long at 43), nausea is horrible.

You take care to keep eating enough if the nausea persists, @Riva_Roxaban , and don't hesitate to seek help with that if eating enough becomes a struggle.
Feeling a lot better this morning.
Long may it last!

Burn's night this week so I wonder if Neil will be able to get me a tiny haggis when he goes to the shops tomorrow. Should be able to get a swede. Just an idea - I don't usually bother, but I think I might this time.

Breakfast is going to be bacon and egg.

Lunch will be a burger (mixed beef and pork) but no bun, of course. A bit of salad with it.

3rd meal will be pork belly pieces, air fried - an experiment - we found, in the loft, a couple of really old fashioned air frying pans. One was mine and the other my mother's - don't remember ever using it. They have fairly high sides with a raised area in the middle with holes in it to allow heat through. Not sure how it will work, but worth a try.

It's a coconut milk day today. BG was ridiculously high this morning so had to take a correction dose to get it down to something reasonable. It was 8.8 on the Libre (10.8 fingerprick) a short time ago.

I don't have a working camera, I'm afraid, but here is a quick (rubbish) sketch to give you an idea. It has a lid as well but I didn't bother drawing that.

And back to food. Feeling hungry but not really fancying anything so have eaten some leftover deli meats and drunk plenty of water. Not sure what will follow later.
