Can't resist asking but don't Hobbits have 2nd breakfast? :D Food sounds good though.
Tea and 15 gms cheese advent calendar for taking tablets
Simmental terrine on KC bread toast
CWC
Chicken and turkey thigh, kalettes, roast celeriac, broccoli, roast baby toms, swede and mushrooms (as a trivet and made a spiffing jus) - . KC mince pie traybake - I liked that much better than any ordinary ones apart from the Hairy Bikers orange pastry ones.
Tea - should have celebrated Spurs point with something else
House tastefully decorated by a 2 and 4 year old - JKP was present and I watched football. It's such a perfect day.

Yes indeed re 2nd breakfast! A custom I’ve happily adopted. I think I got my love of mushrooms from that book too.
I like the sound of the mince pie traybake. You may have posted a link previously to kc but would you mind reposting please?
I absolutely love a toddlers idea of tasteful Christmas decorations, I bet your house looks wonderful.

Another day of not cooking, even though I thawed a burger, cleaned the Brussels sprouts, and chopped an onion earlier this afternoon to give myself a better chance to actually cook a meal.

Apart from the long standing back pain pestering me at the end of the night and waking me up, for the past 3 weeks I've had a neck pain mostly bothering me late at night. So now both the start of my sleep and the finish are very much not something to look forward to, and it's starting to mess with my mood. Or possibly the mood thing is just my usual december thing, not sure.

I decided that cooking or not, some veggies were in order, so I had a slice of low carb bread with a very large heap of grated raw celeriac and mayo. (And of course the obligatory bit of thumb that comes with grated ingredients. :hilarious: ) Hadn't had this for quite a while so I enjoyed the meal a lot, even if I lost at cooking. :)

Tomorrow I'll have today's planned meal (I hope), and some beef to be slow cooked plus a cauliflower for mash will be on the shopping list for tuesday. This will mean one day of easy cooking for 4 days of easily reheated food, making things easy for myself. :)

I got the ‘recipe’ ( v loose term) from an old thread on this site. You just cook shredded cabbage for a minute or 2 in very little water, until wilted but still al dente, drain, add cream and heat through then stir in Parmesan.
It’s a favourite with my family, even my veg averse husband.

We used to do the same thing but with Cheddar and without the cream. It was my husband's favourite way of having cabbage although I found the Cheddar a bit much after a while. Maybe if we'd used cream ...? But that was years ago when we thought cream was a wickedness too far.
