What are the treatment options after metformin and victoza?
Victoza stopped working so well and bloods are higher.
Although stress not helping. Not changed eating.

Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone has tried metformin with type 1 diabetes, and how it was for you?
I've had type 1 for over 20 years. The past 5-6 years I've really struggled with good blood sugar maintenance - my sugars are very elevated when I'm sedentary and I work an office job - I...
Hi all,
I was recently diagnosed on the (less than a week) after lots of worrying symptoms. The doctor has said it’s most likely type two but I don’t fit the usual characteristics; I’m only 28, in a healthy weight, have a good diet, low blood pressure, average cholesterol etc so she couldn’t...
Hi all, hope you’re all doing ok?
I’m wondering is anybody on Metformin & insulin? When I was first diagnosed I was primarily on Metformin only. However, it started making me ill so I obviously stopped taking it.
Now, however my DN once me to give them another go. Unfortunately, I’ve got my...
Hiya,
I’m new here. I was diagnosed pre diabetic a couple of years ago but I’ve been in total denial. Today I had my blood work results back from the doctors and he is insisting I start on 500mg of slow release metformin immediately. It felt a bit like he was a drug pusher, warning me of being...
Hi guys I’m new here. I have a question. I take 1,000mg metformin and 5mg Rosuvastatin every night. I’m just wondering is it ok for me to have a bourbon with zero coke half an hour before I have my metformin and Rosuvastatin and dinner?
I have been diagnosed T2 for about 12 years now, but possibly have had the condition for 50+ years (undiagnosed, obviously). At first I was put onto 4 x 500 mg Metformin but soon developed gastric issues and was taken in to hospital for investigation. When having these investigations, I...
Yesterday I crashed. Big time. After my fab results last month (holding steady at 40), my GP thought it was a good idea to reduce my meds again (after halving my Metformin at Christmas from 1g x 2 to 500mg x 2 within a week of me seeing my Endo Consultant who said to stay on the same dose, she...

It looks like those receiving Prednisolone or other steroid treatment and who start developing type-2 diabetes may need different treatment and benefit from different test regime.
The main takeaways from this for me were that
*Steroids can...
Hi there, well, as the title of the post says I'm feeling pretty gutted today. I went for a 50 year old birthday check up at the GP's practice and it came back with Fatty Liver and Diabetes t2 112 and my finger-prick test was 12.8 today, I had eaten porridge at that point. I also have a long...
So I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes approx 2 months ago. Apparently according to the symptoms it seems that I have had diabetes for about a year or two. The constant thirst and constant bathroom visits apparently is a big sign of it. During those years I had been drinking a lot so...
I have Type 2 Diabetes.
As recommended by you when I joined, I have been testing my blood sugar levels with regards to foods to see which ones cause a spike.
In the meantime my GP started me on metformin, but has recently changed it to the slow release version (Sukkarto SR).
My question is...
Hi everyone.
I've always been sloppy with my management (been diagnosed for 20 years) but, since getting pregnant in July (I suffered a miscarriage in August, probably due to my poor management), I've been trying my best to remain on target. My main problem has been the dawn phenomenon. Even...
I was diagnosed as type 2 in 2015 and have been unmedicated for my diabetes so far. I have several other health issues which I take both prescription meds and complimentary/supplements for.
Anyway, I've just had my annual review and blood test and will be seeing the DSN on Tuesday (today). I...
I lean towards the sporting angle of Type 2 management. I believe this video crosses over to assist anyone who wants to understand Metformin and what an alternative solution is.
Stan Efferding is a massive name in strength training, individually he has been at the top level and trains up the...
