Type 2s: What have you eaten today?

Hi there have you had indigestion while on metformin , I do get wind
Yes me too, changed to the SR ones last week thought it had settled down but got a bit back again. Doctor told me last week give these a try and if I am still getting problems then I may have to go back on the standard ones again, can not win, don't want to go back on the standard if I can help it will just keep on to see if it settles down .

Well yesterday I ate all the wrong things. And surprisingly my BG was not shifted hardly at all remained steady all day. So I did it again today this time a massive clubhouse bacon burger with brioche bun and fries and a diet coke tested my blood one hour later not much change slightly higher then two hours still OK then three hours wow big jump upwards so maybe it was a bit early to think I was cured lesson learned my blood sugars tend to rise slower but over a longer period than I had been testing at before so as I have said before you live and you learn. :( :)
 
Mmm, I was doing so well ....

B: Greek yoghurt, poached eggs, pancetta fried and spinach

L: mushroom soup

D: olives - then chicken rogan josh (jar) broccoli beans and courgettes

then cheese with crackers (around 10) and then Annas biscuits, around 10 again - so 20 biscuits with 3 carbs a pop.

And today I fitted into a shirt I haven't worn for 18 months, maybe not tomorrow ... oh and some red wine and prosecco thrown in.

Maybe we all have bad days and I shouldn't beat myself up - or are all you other type 2's good?

B 2 slices of toasted Burgen Bread with cream cheese and peanut butter
BG reading 2hrs after breakfast 7.3
L 4 mini melba toasts with pate [ low fat from Aldi ] 4 crab sticks 1 plum
D Pork steak mushrooms and 2 poached eggs I pear and half an apple
BG reading 2hrs after dinner. 5.3

D Chicken Satay lots of extra vegetables stir fried (No Rice)

So far, a fried egg with 2 rashers of streaky bacon and a cup.of black coffee for breakfast.
6 Brazil nuts as a late morning snack.
Late lunch was a (cold) chicken thigh chopped up with 4 baby tomatoes, some cooked spring greens and cauliflower cous cous. Delicious.
Dinner tonight will probably be a mushroom omelette.
 
Porridge with chopped nuts a sprinkle of cinnamon and a dollop of Greek yoghurt.
I always have old fashioned porridge oats, with either a handful of blueberries or a teaspoon of Chia seeds and a sprinkling of Cinnamon. I am newly diagnosed but have always had this breakfast and have no idea if it's harming me. Still overwhelmed with it all
 
B the usual Greek yoghurt and berries
L lettuce wrap with grated cheese mayo and beetroot, half an avocado
D asparagus and mushroom omelette with a sprinkling of grated cheese to make it extra gooey!
S pork scratchings, handful of Brazil nuts
DS saw me eating the pork scratchings and asked if he could try some - we have a new convert :)
