Weekly weigh in - Fridays

going down sizes very rapidly and didn’t want to spend too much on interim clothes - but I’m planning staying at this weight so investing! .
The worst was buying all the suits for my youngest son's wedding just after starting this journey and the trousers falling straight down when I tried it on about a week before the big day. Suits no longer stocked so very tight belt!

I haven’t lost anything this week :banghead:, not sure why not :arghh:
So I’ll share some other good news instead; after volunteering at Cancer Research UK’s call centre since I retired from nursing in 2016, this week I was offered a paid position, I start next week!:)

Started 115kg 9th May’17
Today 82.2kg 9th March’18
Total lost = 32.8kg/5stone 2lb

Morning all. 11 12.4 - lost 1 pound since my official Wednesday weigh in. Aiming for bmi of 22 @ 11 stone 9 and waist to height ratio under .5. Target date for that is June at latest.
My GP or DN never measure waist or mention waist to height ratio, anyone else have more clued up medical professionals?
Wish I did they’ve never taken measurements but know it’s way more important than bmi for blood glucose management as indicator of fat on the inside and can happen to people with normal Bmi s

Morning all - unintentionally lost a pound and a half this week but going to Italy on hols next week so this will allow me to ease up a little bit?
Have kept up my intermittent fasting regime of no breakfast for past two maintenance weeks and now getting hungrier in the morning so going to try a week of breakfast - it would also be rude not to as complimentary breakfast included in room rate - just hoping for stuff I can eat.
So will be a couple of weeks before check back in hopefully not any heavier than my target weight!
Also have just had a pre holiday spend on new clothes mainly in size 8 ! ( I’ve been working my way down from size 18/16 since last sept as much was on my middle) I don’t ever remember being size 8 and have given away all my bigger clothes as I’ve gone along so that I can’t go back rather than, as previously, keeping bigger clothes for in case! - thinking that the expense of clothes will be a big incentive if they start to get remotely tight. I really can’t afford to put weight on again! Has anyone else found that even their shoes are too big as they’ve lost weight!

Size 8!! That is absolutely stunning! You are such an inspiration. Hope you have a wonderful holiday x

Great news @Rachox. Congratulations.

Brilliant total weight loss too, over 5st in under a year is amazing.

I’ve read your food posts in other threads and you eat really well, has exercise played a big part too?

Thank you for your kind words but no, exercise hardly features as I have osteoarthritis so walking and swimming when it’s warm, are the limit for me really. I had an op on my foot just before Xmas so have been walking even less recently, but improving again now. Need to get back to swimming when it’s warmer too

Even more impressive then!
Hope you are soon fully mobile and foot continues to improve

How about your middle measurements? Bet they’ve gone down along with your body fat percentage? It’s the middle that really counts i think in the bgs control game.

They are going down slowly. I didn't measure this morning as I only did it last week so don't expect any big changes.

Congrats on your size 8 and I know what you mean about clothes. A very expensive business - have also dropped several sizes (12 from 24/26), and didn't expect to get this far so was investing a few months ago and some of those are now too big. Still can't get used to being able to go in any shop and try things on.

Have a good holiday.

Yes the interim clothes are the difficult ones we need a swap shop! I got a few skirts new in size 12 and clearly they fall down and are not ones that can be worn with a belt. 10s I can still wear - as can sit them on my hips rather than my waist it’s when they fall off the hips that you can’t wear any longer! Still mustn’t grumble despite cost it’s very much where I want to be.
Not flying till Tuesday so will post on food forum for a couple more days ! Then I’ll have a break and not taunt you all with Italian food......

My weight is up and down like my fbgs. No one day the same.
Once my pain goes I'll be able to walk but at this rate I'm going to end up in a wheelchair. :(

Seeing GP today. It's either pain relief that works or a wheelchair. I have 2 young kids that need me mobile, however way that is. School runs cannot happen at mo.
Wheelchair or lose my kids? No brainer.

I only have months to wait for bariatric surgery if surgeon agrees.
Told will help my back but no cure.
Or is it bulging discs or gallbladder/liver area pain. Scan on Monday after been escalated to urgent.

I just feel whatever is going on and giving me infections (internally) can be resolved with all my pain too.
Still looking like gallbladder... maybe.

Hope you get sorted soon ickihun, the pain must be unbearable. Sending big hugs

Thanks Shelly, I haven’t measured for a while but new jeans are getting baggy. Have a great holiday
You are losing more than scales say then. Always measure if you’re worried about what the scales are saying it’s kept me motivated many a time when downhearted about the naughty step.... I’m determined to enjoy my holiday even though not allowed pasta and pizza in Italy! Still lots of delicious meats, fish and cheese!
