Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Do you know if there’s another thread around here for weight loss discussion, other than reporting the loss each week? I have a couple of questions about my thinner body.
Oh, I don't know of one, Prancy, I know some people have joined this thread for weight gain, but it obviously didn't suit them as they didn't return, even though I tried to be as supportive as possible. I am concerned that the whole subject of weight loss may be triggering for some people and think probably a separate weight management thread might be best, although that may get taken over by weight loss people too. Hmm, it is a difficult and sensitive subject.

Maybe start a thread asking the question and you may find some more helpful answers - sorry I cannot be more helpful myself.

4lb to target. Can I get excited yet?

This does include 1 day of being up by that pesky 2lb, but currently back down again. It will probably take at least another month to lose the 4lb but - here's hoping!
Oh gosh, that is amazing - yes get excited, I am feeling that for you. Even if it takes a month it will be something to be proud of so keep going!

My weight control by LCHF and intermittent fasting seems to be working well, this morning 76.7kg, with a visceral fat index of 3.7 (difficult to describe exactly what that means, but in losing about 10kg since Jan it's gone down from around 4.5 to 3.6 it's clearly a measurement that shows something about the ratio of belly fat to everything else - I'm not so worried about total weight as I am about visceral fat and losing that without losing muscle mass - so over the same period only lost 0.2kg muscle - so that's excellent..

That is a win, @Art Of Flowers - every bit counts!

Well done @Keith Saunders - getting that balance right is quite an achievement.

Yes, @Chris24Main LCHF and IF work well for me too. How does one measure visceral fat, I would like to know what mine is as that is the most important fat to get rid of, isn't it? You are doing well to lose that fat without losing muscle mass.

Unsurprisingly, this week my weight has stayed the same, I expected that after last week's strangely large loss.

I haven’t weighed yet this morning. It’s not yet 6:00 a.m. where I am. I had to get up super early due to a malfunctioning sensor on my cgm (insulin pump). I’m not expecting any weight loss since yesterday. I had two big events yesterday involving my weight.

I went to the Duke Fitness Center (man is it nice!) and had the InBody 570 Assessment test conducted. It measures the percentage of the fat, muscle, water, etc. And, gives suggestions of calories needed and how much more I need to lose! I’m still reviewing all of it! Man, I wish I had had it done on day one of my weight loss journey. Oh well….at least I have more muscle than I thought. And, I’m pretty strong? I’ll have it done again when I reach my goal weight.

I’ll weigh in a little while.

Oh, I also saw my ENT and had my second Smell Test. Last September I was diagnosed with Smell/Taste Disorder due to Post Covid Syndrome. My score had gone up significantly! The doctor was surprised. He said such big improvements were not expected. (There are many who suffer loss of taste and smell long term after covid infections. Mine was not extreme.) Not sure if the virus dissipated or an improvement in my B12 treatment is the cause. Nonetheless, food is just delicious and I’m struggling to limit my treats. Grateful for the healing!
