What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

This last paragraph brought a lump to my throat, what a lovely thing to do.

Sympathies over erratic bgs - mine were the same a couple of days ago but intermittent fasting seems to be helping to calm the situation, although I think that might be difficult for you. I remember you saying you had a strict timetable for your meds+ food.

Copy Me That is fantastic isn’t it? Don’t know where I’d be without it. ( yes I do, in a muddle)
Agree. A really lovely thing to do. I saw the inside of a hospice too often last year but being able to bring joy makes such a difference.

Dull, joyless and pretty aimless and that's just Spurs so far. If you add in the wind, doubles as a description of the day. Hope everyone has had a good weekend.
Tea and 1 slice each of tongue and Brunswick ham until about 16.30. Lamb breast, spring greens, swede and celeriac mash and gravy for main meal. Hungry so had cubed CCB and h/m vanilla custard to fill a hole. Probably have cocoa later and could find something like cheese? to nibble.
Managing this condition is a marathon not a sprint and not every day can be wonderful. The food was nice/pleasant and hopefully LC. The swede celeriac mash is how celeriac needs to be from now on - doesn't do it for me other ways. Stay warm.

Bed 5.7 FBG 5.6. Need to do a catch up again. I've been dipping in and out but still to read loads of posts. Brother's youngest daughter was communicating with me this morning over the cooking of haggis. She has our habit of the Sunday closest to Burns night. I'm having haggis tonight. Got the lowest carb one I could but I 've kept carbs for the rest of the day negligible.
B. 2 of Morrisons the best GF chipolatos, 3 rashers of very crispy streaky bacon, fried egg and 1 small mushroom. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Nothing took the boys to their swimming lesson and I am still in a state of shock. Their behaviour was outstanding! Never in a million years did I think I would EVER describe their behaviour that way. No 2 is very close to swimming unaided and No 1 - everything went right today. Just perfect.
D. Got home quite happy without the need to lie down in a darkened room. Will have my usual Campari and soda. Had a slice of smoked salmon with king prawns and a Marie Rose sauce and shredded lettuce. Haggis, Neeps mashed with butter and pepper and celeriac mash. Toying with the idea of a prosecco. Was going to make a Cranachen but decided the carbs are high enough at 32g today.
Boys are staying next Sunday as their Mum and Dad are going to a concert in Glasgow so I'll have them here after swimming , dinner then I'll be getting them ready and off to school next day.
Tomorrow marks the start of me going into school early with the boys. No 1 has been really tense so they've come up with the idea of me taking him straight to class and spending 30 mins doing something with him to calm him. He's not saying what's wrong but he's a lot happier since this was suggested. Doesn't really affect me as I'll just have to leave 20 mins earlier. No 2 will have to come too though.

Thanks. Will try the swede-celeriac instead of my usual celeriac only

Hi all.

Another OMAD day. Dinner was roast boneless shoulder of lamb, scored, salted and covered with butter, chopped garlic and some sprigs of rosemary. Prepared it before heading to walking football this morning so flavour had really seeped into the meat. Delicious. Followed up with 30ml extra thick double cream.

Not missing veg but definitely missing nuts, nut butter, lc cakes and choccie but determined to complete carnivore month.

Evening all
Breakfast - cup of tea
Brunch - my DD new recipe of the week
https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/keto-bacon-mushroom-breakfast-casserole
It was amazing!!! Anybody have any ideas whether this sort of recipe could be re-heated? The cooking time means not doable for work in the week unless I could make of a weekend and warm up of a morning in the microwave?
Mid afternoon - bowl of berries, extra thick double cream and chopped hazelnuts

Dinner - can’t lie, no idea yet. Gin has been poured - only ever have one or two and only been a couple of occasions. Not had a ‘real drink ’ So to speak since diagnosis as feel like I can’t or shouldn’t. Even on holiday I was very restrained. But after almost a whole day of coursework I’m totally in the mood for a few drinks and an unwind. The music is on, the crazy dancing around the living room will soon commence so not going to punish myself, going to try and enjoy my night - and my promised lie in in the morning!

Yep. I have heated in the microwave for lunch next day:)

Yes I noticed the spurs score. Drama is all off park with hubby's team. Looks like manager is gone and finally they go and win away!

Evening all
Breakfast - cup of tea and 2 squares of green & blacks mint chocolate - I got a nice lie in and awoke to a note on my bed saying ‘kids in charge sunday’ so I have been told all day what to do and chocolate for breakfast was apparently rule no 1 of the day
Lunch - 2 Lincolnshire & 1 Cumberland sausage with sprouts, green beans, cauliflower, a few peas and a drizzle of gravy
An afternoon of movies so snacked on some nuts a couple of times
No dinner - not at all hungry but will no doubt have a coffee or two

I love Kids in Charge Sunday - won’t mention it to the grandchildren though!
We had a movie afternoon too, perfect for a cold grotty Sunday.

30hr IF meant just dinner today, fasting since yesterday lunchtime. I am finding it quite hard but it seems to be doing the trick so that is keeping me on the straight and narrow.

Copious quantities of Teaolat, peppermint tea and coffee through the day( good tip re hot drinks @shelley262)

Dinner was slow roast pork belly with buttered cabbage and cauli cheese. Followed by Greek yogurt and 2 strawberries. Settled down with a decaf&cream now feeling quite content.

Have you kids seen the eat to defeat them ad? Your veggies made me think about it. I think it's really funny.

Wind - wind - wind. Got pushed 3 miles down the promenade and out to sea this morning.
Lots of different teas; chaga, matcha, tumeric and a grand cafeteria of monsoon malibar.
Breakfast ; a toasted slice of my lo carb bread with butter.
Dinner; bubbling squeak - a fish cake with leftover celeriac mash, neeps and salmon with spices, herbs some steamed and chopped cauliflower greens and an egg beaten in, topped with cheese. Salad of lettuce, tomato and cucumber.
You are right @ianpspurs - celeriac mash is much better mixed with Swede.

@DJC3 well done on your IF - these days I wouldn’t like to miss more than one meal. It was so cold today felt hungry!
Breakfast one high % pork sausage and egg with a few of my new seeded crispbreads buttered ( they are staying really crisp so a winner this new recipe)
Lunch an experiment with pastryless mini quiches/frittatas - adding a bit of powdered psyllium husk to give texture - did some withchilli chicken and some ham. Tried both delicious- did to take with me tomorrow when looking after Cooper who is still in quarantine although recovering from kennel cough. A square of 95% choc with coffee
Dinner steak, celeriac chips and mushroom sauce with glass of red wine followed by lc lemon mousse.
@Goonergal bet you’ve got plans for Friday 1st of February you’ve done so well - only four days now! I really couldn’t have done it at this stage of my journey and in winter....... well done you.

:D Yes I love that advert!! My daughter has thankfully always been amazing with veg - there’s only carrot she won’t eat. So any time there’s greens involved her plate is as full as mine and her little 5yr old belly somehow fits it all in!
