What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Hi all
@DJC3 hope gym went well? Is it a new thing? I’ve got a day pass trial for local gym and pool and giving it a go on Monday before go up to York’s and to mums - thinking of joining if enjoy but not ever been a gym bunny so will see - Iprefer walks in countryside but do enjoy swimming though.
Breakfast 97% pork sausage and egg - one of each
Lunch 2 lc crispbreads buttered and with ham and cheese on top followed by a hc Xmas chocolate and 2 100% choc buttons - felt in need of some choc!
Dinner chicken curry with cauliflower rice and glass of gin and soda followed by lc raspberry mousse with yoghurt.

Didn’t go quite as planned - I’ve posted in the exercise thread to say they had to shut the gym before we arrived as someone had a heart attack. Latest news is that he’s ok thanks to quick acting staff. We went to a different gym eventually.
Yes it is a new thing, I’m trying weights to build some muscle so there is somewhere for the glucose to go. I lost such a lot of muscle when I was ill and its hard work to replace.
Hope you get on well with your trial day pass, I tend to agree though, a lovely walk is much nicer and better for the soul.

3 poached eggs on flaxseed and hemp flour toast with reduced sugar tomato sauce for lunch. Chicken mayo and avocado salad this evening. Mid afternoon 10 cal/LC jelly and cream. Posting from a kindle until New Chromebook arrived _ no idea why I told you that
Update: did have a coffee today which I think was first this year. Was ok but no better than ok. I like cocoa better now. Still can't find a good reason to have alcohol in 2019

Sf jelly and cream? That’s not like you?

It’s dawned on me reading your post that I haven’t had an alcoholic drink for weeks either. Think it’s because daughter and her partner are teetotal so it’s never really around here. When I’m in Cornwall with the rest of the family a fair amount of wine is consumed.

Have to post this as I’m so excited! Post dinner bg is 4.7, repeated as I didn’t believe it, 4.8.
I hardly ever get readings in 4s let alone after a meal.
It must be the gym I suppose, maybe a fluke, I don’t know but I’m v happy for now.

I really wanted the closest LC sweet thing I could get. Interesting about the alcohol consumption and context. Pretty sure it was the gym that did it for the great post prandial reading.Gym really HTS

Evening everyone.
No breakfast - just a cuppa
Mid morning - a coffee
Lunch - 3 large mushrooms stuffed with spinach, smoked bacon lardons and lots of cheese
No dinner as realised that the bag of dry roasted nuts I had on the table to take the occasional handful of as I did coursework was in fact almost empty over a 4 hr period :banghead: so snacking is no longer allowed when I’m working

I wish I could find no good reason to have alcohol. But things like stressful day at work on a Monday, or stressful visit from the MIL on a Tuesday, or god it’s only middle of the week Wednesday, almost the weekend Thursday or even hooray its Friday!!
(Feel the need to add I actually don’t drink as often as my reasons would allow. Any more anyway ;))

Sounds like a tough gig Emma. When you get geriatric like me things won 't seem so bad although if you have children it's the first 50 years that are the worst

:D Just over 44 years to go then till I get the easier life!
Although I was only joking about each day needing a drink - except Tuesdays - MIL visits are genuinely enough to drive a girl to drink :angelic::angelic:

Read my exercise log for Christmas Day when my MIL was here

CEA1613D-9BD3-4F74-928C-06C71E87B9F0.jpeg Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: fry up, bacon, egg, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: peach chia pudding and black coffee.
Dinner at an all you can eat Asian buffet :wideyed: for a friend’s retirement ‘do’, I went for a salad starter followed by chicken, beef and veggie (leak, onion, garlic, mushrooms and bean sprouts) Teppanyaki and crispy seaweed, the chef looked at me very strangely when I declined the noodles! :joyful:

OK no idea what was going on last night as I went to bed on 8.3 and FBG was 6.3. Thought Hubby's lurgy was heading to me but its returned to normal climbs again. Maybe a rogue strip? Not eaten too much today. Had a bit of a debate over food today and tomorrow. Hubby really not well as he didn't go to the football. Went out shopping only to get a call from son as their babysitter had gone down with the lurgy so could boys stay with me.? Dropped off shopping, spent a couple of hours sorting out laundry, ironing done then feet up for an hour or so before getting boys.

B/L - who knows! 2 Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream at different times. Finished off last 2 small slices of the Dr Almond seeded bread with pate pate (had planned to make more bread and do some baking but whole day changed).
D. Was supposed to be chicken salad but by the time I'd built a minecraft Lego set, read 5 stories and got 2 little people washed, teeth brushed and ready for bed was getting past it.
Ended up with a slice of the chicken breast , boiled egg and 2 tomatoes. No 1 told me to go get some berries because they're good for me so 4 blackberries and 4 raspberries.

All quiet now, just going to get his tablet to recharge then off to bed as no doubt there with be the patter of tiny feet very early looking for breakfast. To be fair they were very good tonight - no fighting which is a bonus.
At least Hibs won.

Don't you believe it. They grow up, produce grandchildren and it starts all over again!

:D Agree!

Hi all. A not quite OMAD day today.

Following walking football and a very long walk going all the way through to dinner wasn’t quite possible. Had a piece of flourless chocolate cake and extra thick Jersey cream around 4pm. An hour and a half later before dinner. BG had gone down by 0.1mmol so a win all round.

Have just finished dinner of beef short rib. Even more delicious than usual - were much, much fattier than usual making them extra tasty and very tender. Totally stuffed but found room for 2 of the Hotel Chocolat 80% pralines.

@Brunneria I’m with you on the carnivore/chocolate way of eating. Highly recommended.

An interview with you about your low carb journey just popped up on my twitter feed :) Great inspirational stuff! You also have such beautiful glowing skin. I am jealous!

Geesh sister must be well off. Thermomix doesnt come cheap. Only every seen them with pro chefs.

As its obviously not a thermo nuclear warhead (or similar) - then what are they? I've just googled it and I can't work out if it's a cooking devise, a posh mixer or both? :shy:

@DJC3 happy with you for bg
Haha I won’t be drinking any more than usual, which is, in the summer, a few sips of beer from Mr ZF’s bottle on grilling Saturdays. Red wine gave me a headache at age 19, and tastes awful, and spirits are at least 2 leagues above my ability
Bfast 1/2 avocado, egg, decaf/soy/cream
Lunch almond butter, a little cream, chix broth
Supper is in my brand new IP, so excited.! Roast (how can you have a pressure cooked roast?) chicken with smoked paprika, garlic powder, pepper, and various Italian herb things. Probably some greens and/or celery. I figured out why I eat so much celery - it crunches like a good apple, and I miss my winter daily apple

It does pretty much everything, simmers, blends, cooks , mixes, knead dough and it even has built in scales so you can weigh your ingredients into it. It has pre loaded recipes but by all accounts it worked better with soups, sauces , purees and the like. I suspect the attraction is it's all in one but it's a hefty price tag to save on washing up. Any time I"ve seen it used on TV it always seems to be soups or sauces.

I really miss a crunchy apple too. I allowed myself one last Sept fresh off our tree, it was heavenly. I agree about celery though, the crunch is addictive.
I hope the IP chicken is a success, I’m sure you’ll love it. Using paprika is a good idea too - stops it looking too anaemic.

I just looked it up.
‘The smallest kitchen’ eh?
Wot a price tag!!!
Started to go into a pre-envious NewGadget greed frenzy, then I stumbled across a webpage listing the number of product recalls the company has had, and how they were once prosecuted for failing to inform the public of a dangerous fault.
I’m sure they have learned their lesson by now, but it cured the NewToyitis off instantly. :D
