Haha! Well, I am definitely broody at the moment.
But not for human babies.
Wanna pupppeeeee!!!!
Today's food will NOT involve a Snickers Bar.
I expect to have prawn mayo with brinjal pickle for lunch, a three bird roast (discovered in the freezer last night) for evenign meal, and a few 70% choc squares and cashews during the day to drip feed in enough carbs that I don't get another Snicker Craving. Two days in a row would be pushing my luck!
They used to be called Marathon didn't they? Thankfully I have an aversion to any nuts that have had anything done to them. Plain nuts in their shells fine - cooked, salted, caramel/chocolate coated - keep they away from me. The sight/smell/taste makes me physically sick. Barcadi does the same thing. No idea why unless I had a traumatic nut experience as a child? I can relate to an irrational longing for something though. In my case it is usually something I dont like which I find bizarre.
You mean you've played "Brown Block Ping" too?
I can barely remember what I ate for every meal this week with worry about son. We had salmon, Bolognese, chicken for dinners with green veg and roasted med veg. Lunches have been soup and cold plates of meat, coleslaw, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, cold egg, cheese, and waldorf salad in different combos on different days. Just the cold plate for me but feeding up son. Have done breakfasts of poached/scrambled eggs, bacon, myshrooms, avocado in different combos with granary toast for son but for me just 1 slice of HiLo toast thick butter and 2 mugs tea.
Tonight I am eating alone so two Heck sausages and celeriac mash on the menu followed by either LoCal jelly or LC Light & Free yogurt or 2 squares Lindt 90 (if I think I can stop at 2). Son gone back to London for early night, going into work tomorrow and back to us tomorrow night for more TLC at weekend.
Happy cooking and eating All.
Hi Brunneria. You have just explained what happened to me when I ate carbs close to bedtime recently - something I would never normally do. After being asleep for only 2 hours I was wide awake, sweating, anxious and sensing that the carbs could have had something to do with it! Thanks.
Thanks @DJC3 but I really dont want to lose the progress I’ve made and I actually like the things I eat now. I have developed a real fondness for waldorf salad in the last week or so. I have for convenience bought tubs from m&s and Sainsbury TTD which I think is my favourite. Cant have very much at a time but makes a change from coleslaw as something wet with cold plates and the little pieces of apple are enjoyable. I thought about just making it but to be honest but when son leaves its just me to eat it and hardly worth it. If we have a gathering it would be different.Amazing strength of character there PenguinMum to stick with lc way of life through all that. The fact you have any Lindt chocolate left at all deserves a round of applause. Hope things get more relaxed for all of you now.
Thanks @Chook...I like the idea of a big Yorkshire hug! Sounds proper.@PenguinMum
I am so sorry to read your posts about your son's illness. It must have been such a shock for you both. A big Yorkshire hug is coming your way and one for your son, too. {{{{ hugs }}}}
Thanks @Chook...I like the idea of a big Yorkshire hug! Sounds proper.
Thanks Ian thats what we do isnt it? How is Julie doing?@PenguinMum you have fed your son well and I am sure given and will continue to give all the TLC anyone could.
Lots of tea and a cocoa plus some water. Not cross bun and butter at 10.00 after 40 hrs fast. 14.00 avocado, tin of mackerel in EVO, grated cheddar and ACV. Piece of smoked cheddar after. 17.40 Meatza (mushrooms, few leftover lardons and 1 gms carb tomato topping according to label and scales), few red little gem leaves, cucumber and some mayo. Liked 2 and the 3rd met high fat criteria and was simple to make - 66% is a decent baseline to work from.
Julie is losing her voice but up and about today - knee and back seem to be easing but that could be effects of painkillers.Thanks Ian thats what we do isnt it? How is Julie doing?
Wishing you both all the very best. When we vowed “in sickness and in health” we were in another world. I have a good one and you are a good one!Julie is losing her voice but up and about today - knee and back seem to be easing but that could be effects of painkillers.
