What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thanks. I live in a village and have a small Morrisons and an Aldi nearby. Sainsbury’s is more of a trek. After some googling I suspect I might be able to get some in the Morrisons so will try at the weekend.
I'm sure I've seen them in Morrison's.

Hi all, don’t usually post here as I’m not technically low carb Anyway, no breakfast then a 20g lunch and I blew 60g at 5 Guys with @Goonergal because I ate the bun. @DJC3 we picked that venue as we both like the food.

Have to agree with you both, I love their burgers ( but do miss the chips, not the bun)

Thanks for the crumble topping suggestions everyone, all as individual as you are!
I will probably take a pinch of all your ideas.

Oh....and in other news, I tried on a size 12 pair of jeans in M&S today and they fitted! This time last year my size 18 jeans felt tight! Sorry to derail the thread with non food related stuff, but I have to share my joy!
You can’t beat that feeling! Well done you!

@Chook once my cold started going, it left in a hurry. Hope yours does too!
@Listlad good for your daughter and Taekwondo!
@DJC3 grrr sorry about your high bg’s!
@BibaBee you sound like a very happy North Walesian camper! And WOW on weight/size loss!!!!
Congratulations on delicious OMAD @Caeseji
This Ikea thing is funny! They are few and far between here; I think we’d have to drive 2-3 hrs in the worst traffic on the East Coast to get there. We have any large chain hardware/etc store, or Bed Bath&Beyond. It’s the Beyond that gets you! Also anything in Lowes or Home Depot....
Cleaning and traveling day. Mr ZF sisters are whirlwinds and had time for a 4 mile walk. I be a lit-tle-slow-er so only walk will be .75 mi into town to catch the airport bus.
Bfast usual 1/2 avocado, egg, decaf/cream for 1 sq 90%.
Lunch while cleaning/packing a surfeit of celery stalks with almond butter
Snack 2 egg white muffin bakes from Starbux in airport
Supper piece of brown bread and last little chunk of Brie
We will draw a veil across late night lc-but-too-much-of-them snacking. Seaweed, cheese, almond butter. Argh.

Have a good trip back home, Your mum must be looking forward to seeing you again. Glad your cold has finally gone.

Whoa! Away from home and a bit busy at the mo, so took my eye off this thread for a bit and goodness me... 167 posts behind!!!

Have skim read up to the present, and will try not to fall behind again. lol.

Food here is a mixed bag.
We have had roast chicken, my homemade lamb burgers, and ox cheek last night. But the portions are tiddly and I end up snacking from either cheese (in the fridge) or nuts or dark choc from my stash in my luggage.

Amazing how being out of your own comfort zone can muck up eating habits that have evolved comfortably at home.

Anyway, the nuts and the darkdarkdark choc are raising my carbs far too high. Can definitely feel the difference. Dog walks and doggie wrestling matches are not doing enough to mitigate that. Even affecting sleep. Which I think is a combo of caffeine from the choc and the extra carbs. Trouble is, if I knock the nuts and choc on the head, I end up not eating enough. Would be better to fast, really, but then I would have dumbstruck family members worriting...

Oh, and the other excitement was 1 tablesppon of LC apple crumble at Sunday supper.
Absolute disaster.
Felt bad about only having a teensy portion, since it was made specially for me.
The crumble topping was linseed, almond, erythritol and butter. Very nice.
Only I have had 2 days (so far) of gut repercussions.
And that was just one tablespoon of LC GF 'treat'
£%&"!*%& !!!
I can only assume it was the flaxseed causing the problem since i am fine with eryth butter and almond

@ianpspurs and @shelley262 thanks for the info on inulin. Since Intake digestive enzymes it might not be for me but I could try it. Wheres best to buy it?
We use Bulk Powders online but other retailers are always available.
To save space a request for suggestions here. I am clearly running out of spare fat to burn from my body. Y'all have an idea what I eat but briefly streaky bacon, fatty meat, cheese won't do the job in big enough quantities - I will just totally seize up. Cream and butter (except very thickly spread on bread) in big enough amounts are likely to make me uncle Richard. I tried almond butter but that is way too salty and would have the same seizing up impact. I really do want to be an advocate of this WOE but one is currently vexed for tweaks and y'all are totes foodie - innit.

I was definitely low carb comfort eating yesterday - add on extra cheese, sugar free jelly, almond butter and even some chocolate to yesterday's menu.... Blummin cold!?!?!

It's still going strong today. Mr C says there is a virulent form of the lurgy going round at his work but he hasn't got it - just carrying it. I think I'm married to Typhoid Mary!

So, today...

Breakfast: Yet another avocado

Lunch: 30g mixed nuts (mix of brazils, almonds, pecans, walnuts)

Dinner: Spicy lamb burgers and sugar free sweet chilli dipping sauce and/or mayo

I loved my work. Hubby thought I had to be the only person in the UK that actually looked forward to getting up and going to work. I was devastated after my crash when they eventually told me I wouldn't recover sufficiently to return. Soon discovered though there was life after work.
My mantra was always there's more to work than money. I was offered a lot of jobs but to me being happy in my work ranked above everything else.

I make chia jam all the time, usually with frozen raspberries. It's delicious and super easy to make! In fact, I had a blueberry and raspberry chia jam with my breakfast this morning. Definitely recommend giving it a go.

Thank you! It would be a bit disingenuous to claim we were camping though! My parents' caravan is a static caravan with all mod cons.....central heating, cooker, microwave, hot shower! I think they tend to be described as trailer homes Stateside?!

I love this word “lurgy”, which I’d never heard nor read until I saw it here. Is the “g” hard or soft?
The word is so... evocative. Germs partying, lurking, creeping, being gross, in my personal body. Ick!
I'm fond of that word too. Another 2 I use a lot is Scottish slang - I'm fair drookit. Extremely wet or wet through. They're very descriptive words.

IKEA? Mad dash? Not words I'd put together. I've often thought Segways would be good for getting around IKEA.

Refrigerate them? I had a pie base that was not only soft - it moved! Refrigeration sorted it.

Mine is Tebay services (Westmoreland). Thankfully I dont pass it every week now.

Has anyone made crumble? Do you just substitute almond flour?
I see you've had a few replies. I use a mix of almond flour, flax meal, granulated sweetener and cubes of cold butter. Method the same as I've always made crumble combine the butter into the dry ingredients quickly. Like @ianpspurs suggestion too re blowtorching inulin.
