What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

B: coffee with cream, two slices of livlife with butter and marmite (spiked my blood from 6.8 to 11.7 two hours later, then down to 9.8 30 minutes after that. Then I ran out of test strips. I've not had this problem with Livlife before so will have to try and test it again)
L: leftover veg soup, packet of Proper Popcorn
D: Omelette, salad
S: almonds, 3 squares of Divine dark Chocolate with raspberries

B:
Usual berries, almonds and Greek yoghurt,
S:
Espresso and cream
L:
Jamie Oliver's recipe: salmon fillet marinaded briefly in tandoori paste - (I added tamarind as well), fried 90 seconds on each side in butter, served with a warm naan for OH (but in my case I substituted a buttered seed crisp bread) and cucumber, yoghurt, lemon, fresh red chilli and fresh coriander salad.
A few pecan halves and a piece of 85% chocolate
D:
will be quick home made veg soup (courgettes and half a butternut squash will be involved), cheese and buttered seed crisp bread. Might do a ground almonds berry crumble to go with some cream!

The fast day got my BG down to 4.6 at bed time but this morning my FBG was 7.6. I can't work out what is happening. Today:

Breakfast: Coffee with double cream
Lunch: Not hungry
Snack: little packet pork scratchings
Dinner: Beef chilli ( no beans), topped with sour cream, grated cheddar, small amount of chopped tomato and small amount of chopped onion. Large green salad. Sadly no chopped avocado as all four I bought this week were black on the inside.
Supper: A few nuts.

Total carbs for the day including the nuts is 17g (according to My FitnessPal app)

B. 1 slice toasted Burgen bread with corned beef topping
L. Cream of cauliflower soup, strawberries + DBL cream
D. Steamed fish chopped into cauliflower rice
S. X 3 Walnuts, almonds small cubes cheese

Just experimented with a Tunisian dish called sha

Hi, it`s a sauce made up of chopped onions, garlic, chilli pepper and mushrooms. Fry in olive oil, add ground cumin and paprika, 1/2 tin of chopped tomatoes, simmer until it starts to reduce then crack a couple of eggs in, cover and let the eggs poach in the sauce. I like my eggs runny but if you prefer them hard just allow them to poach for longer. You should really use chopped bell peppers as well but I didn`t have any. Easy to do , low carb and very tasty.
Thanks @chri5, that does sound yummy and tasty, I'll be making that soon.

Hang on.......things are changing

Pay attention people :wideyed:
B usual yoghurt & berries
L chill with kidney beans (which didn't spike, very surprised!)
Chicken stroganoff with mushroom & onions, added brandy, French mustard & double cream, with grean beans. Jelly & cream, 2 glasses red

B 2-egg omelette with tomato, mushroom & bacon pieces fried in butter
L Salad with cold roast beef from yesterday
D Pizza with pre-baked base of egg, almond flour, dried herbs, mozarella & cream cheese, plus home-made tomato sauce and toppings of bacon chunks/onion/olives and spicy ground beef/olives all with melted cheddar on top.

The Lidl high protein roll pizza experiment was okay. Needed more garlic and salt. So further experimentation is happening this lunchtime:

Breakfast: Coffee with double cream
Lunch: Lidl high protein roll pizza mark 2
Tea (at work): Asda Taste the Difference Roast Turkey Breast, avocado, lots of greenery, 3 cherry tomatoes and a little sliced pepper.
Supper (at home): I dunno - getting bored with nuts, getting bored with salami/cream cheese rollups. Anyone got any very easy and very quick snack ideas (that don't involve cheese) with minimal carbs and about 300 calories. All ideas gratefully received. I've recently found out that cheese and I don't mix well when I have it for supper.
How about a bag of mini chorizo bites? Can buy them in Waitrose. Or could make Ugg nut & chia seed loaf which is good toasted with butter and Marmite or use for sandwich - bacon?! Not cheap but best bread replacement I have found. Boiled eggs with soldiers.

B: pumpkin & hazelnut scone, blueberries, double cream
L: cold chicken, rocket salad
D: bacon, mushroom and cheese omelette, rocket salad (is it possible to OD on rocket?)
S: Babybel, Marmite cashew nuts

No breakfast :***:
L: chicken curry, broccoli, carrots
D: 3 egg cheesy omlette, large salad
Snack: dill pickle!!

By the way, what is this Lidl HP roll of which I hear you speak?!?
