Evening all.
Two meals again today, plus a sneaky snack.
Lunch was 4 rashers bacon and 2 fried eggs with a little grated cheese. About an hour later finished off the remainder of the cake I baked for work - less than half a slice, with a bit of cream on top.
Dinner was slow cooked oxtail. Yum!
@Annb here’s a link to a quick guide to intermittent fasting:
https://www.dietdoctor.com/intermittent-fasting
I try to eat within a 5 hour window and fast in between. This is usually lunch around 12 or 1pm and dinner between 5 and 6. Tend towards the earlier times. I also try to do at least one day a week where I eat only one meal, usually at the weekend. Used to do a lot more often but it’s harder now I’ve dropped a lot of weight. It was a game changer for both BG and weight loss.
Bed 6.7 FBG 7.6. Busy, busy day. Off early to get the boys, pick up SIL , park the car on a bus route and get to the venue in time to get the tickets from a Fringe box office and get to the show. Huge success. No 1 volunteered to go on stage and had the longest stint up there with a T Rex and another ferocious beast. He did confess after that I was correct, you do forget they're not real. Little brother was convinced he would be eaten by the T Rex. I agree @DJC3 - Weather is nuts. Bottom of our road flooded again and we had torrential rain again when trying to leave the venue. The promised thunderstorms haven't materialised - yet!
Still waiting on the asbestos report (I can"t decide if that's good or not). They have at least appointed a contractor who will carry out all the work but they have to wait too until we find out the asbestos results.
B. TAG with ADOC (just was in a rush to get away)
L. Nothing at Dinosaur Zoo.
D. Pack of the salami crisps. 1/2 meat'zza pizza with salad of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, 1/2 avocado, helmans. Few blackberries and raspberries.
@ianpspurs - hope you feel better soon. You've reminded me that I must make more skinny bread.
Ooh thanks. There’s a Sains near youngest daughter so I’ll ask her to pick me up a bottle. Funnily enough I was just sitting here thinking how much I fancied a G&t ( or soda which I tend to have now, recommended by @shelley262 - easier to find than proper slimline tonic @Viv19 , takes a little getting used to but I actually prefer it now - can taste the gin more!)
Edit to add credit where due
Thanks for that. I've just gone through it and it makes sense. I'll have to think about how to manage it before I make a start. I do have plenty of health problems and I am old so I should ask my doctor, but there's little point in that. He'll only say no.
@Annb I see you've already had some replies on IF from @Viv19 & @Goonergal. I was going to suggest Diet Doctor too. I think the great thing about IF is you can vary it to suit you're own needs there are so many variations on it. I always think of it as a way to confuse your body if you're stuck. I put 5 lbs on while on holiday. The last few days since I came back have been pretty much OMAD and I've already dropped 3 of these 5lbs. That I reckon is down to 1) not having breakfast every day 2) not drinking alcohol everyday 3) confusing the body with one meal and 4) probably stress with the ceiling collapse etc,
You’re only 3 years older than me. Repeat when confused- I am not old!!! Use whenever felt necessary.
I’ve just looked at the package of the Hotel Chocolate 100% dark Ecuador batons Mr C got me yesterday. These aren’t the same as those I’ve had previously. They say 0 carbs!!!!
Looked on website and it’s the same 0 carbs. This can’t be right can it? I’m buying the shop out if it is.

I had hoped not to be old in my 70s (my father didn't get old until he was well into his 80s) but these last 3 or so years have made me change my view on that. My heart thinks I am about 20, but my body tells me I am about 100. Never mind, if I can lose some weight using IF I will feel a whole lot younger.
Just to keep this on the food theme - I did have my roast chicken with some quick fried green beans last evening. I have never liked green beans and haven't had them for years but I thought I could try again. An hour later, I was feeling very sick - a feeling that lasted all night. I do seem to have a problem with vegetables - cooked ones anyway. Must get more salad stuffs in next time I can get to a shop. Probably not until Monday now.
Nah.
Something VERY wrong there.
If you tot up the totals of the fats, proteins and fibre, they add up to over 100 g / 100g
Someone made a major boo boo and someone else didn’t proof read it.
This is why I never trust any packaging, ever.
Actually, it should be reported/complained about.
If this packaging is so absurdly inaccurate, then what about all their other packaging.
Could be dangerous for someone trying to calc insulin dosages on something with higher carb content.
Thanks for that. I've decided I'll have to try IF but I'm still considering how to go about it. Right now, I'm seeing how I can get on with only tea all morning. And right now, I'm feeling very hungry which must be psychological because I usually don't have anything until about 10 or 11 o'clock. Had an upset stomach anyway for the last day or so, so a rest will probably be a good idea. BG this morning is also a bit high (9.5) so surely I can last out on just fluids meantime.
Don't think there is any set way it is supposed to go @Annb more a set of outcomes that people observe more often than not. Please bear in mind I know nothing useful about this bg control jobby.Noon now and my BG has gone up to 11.5. I know there is a dawn phenomenon but it's not dawn any longer. Is this how it's supposed to go?
