What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I could try to make you eat salty licorice as a hypo treatment for a trade!
@Antje77 Amazon Au keep sending me salty liqurice offers, have had these two offered a couple of times because I browsed the lolly section when I bought a bucket of Chupa Chups.

I am very tempted to buy it next time. :D

I'm about. I was completing the last of the labelling for quite a few hours, interrupted by having to go out to seek youngest grandson who had wandered away from brother & friends. Found quite quickly; deposited at home; now grounded until he's 21.

Sunday bed 6.9 FBG 7.2

B. TAG and (joy) 2 slices of SLC toast. 1 with egg mayo, 1 with coronation chicken.
L. Nothing - boys back at swimming; Hubby back to football and went to visit SIL & family who were visiting. Required a bit of planning as the taxi service!
D. Usual campari and soda. Beef olives done with carrot and onion in the IP. Veg mix of peas, corn, broccoli and spinach. One of Iceland's broccoli/cauliflower souffle things which I've now restocked.

Today - bed 7.8 FBG 7.2

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with ox tongue and Philly.
L. Nothing taken up with labelling etc mentioned above.
D. One of these "I don't think I have anything in the fridge" moments. With a bit of thought I made a cauli rice mushroom risotto. I didn't have mozzarella but I substituted parmesan. Grenade Ice cream bar.

Tomorrow we have a short visit to school to meet teacher/see new classroom before return on Wednesday.

I'm here but late and busy!
Skipped breakfast then did 2 back to back exercise classes (quite mild ones!)
Lunch 5 Ms seed crackers with stilton, a little houmous and half a small avocado
D: yesterday roast beef minced with cabbage and onions, reheated In gravy with green beans
Then a night out with girl friends. Stuck to 2 drinks but they were Aperol sprtizes so not too much alcohol but some sugar. Was the first time in 18 months

So, another day. No bacon or ham today to see if that will stop me feeling sick.

Breakfast: boiled eggs mashed with some butter.

2nd planned meal: will be some beef ragout that I took out of the freezer for yesterday's meal, but didn't use.

Other than that, it will be drinks all day, which might include some milk drinks, but mostly tea without milk. If I feel up to cooking, I might make something veggie ready for tomorrow - I was thinking of something like Collard greens (without the meat content) but made with a savoy cabbage. Not sure how it will work out. I'll need to have something ready since Em will be prepping her parents' meal for much of the late afternoon.

I'd definitely go for these, and not the Haribo's. I don't like the Haribo ones much, and they're huge too, which is a bit impractical when keeping an eye on the carbs.
If the 'dubbelzoute' has the same recipe for international sales it's very good!
Funnily, the ones sold here are round, not triangle shaped, even though they're made by the same company. :)

I’m never here at the right time! Yesterday and today usual brekkie of slice HiLo toast and lots of tea. Lunch yesterday was a keto cheese scone split and thickly buttered with a cup of tea. Supper was a chicken breast with tenderstem broccoli. A very not hungry day for some odd reason. Lunch today was coffee out and an M&S nut and seed bar (6g carbs). Supper will be chilli meatballs with cauli rice.
Discovered The Curators salted pork puffs (0.03g carbs per pack) never liked pork scratchings too hard for my teeth and too porky for me, more often than not made me get sick but these are mild, salty and the consistency of Quavers. Available on Amazon box of 12 for about £1 a pack.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and Atkins bar.
Lunch out: kids sized full English.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a couple of dark chocolate brazils.
Dinner: crispy cheese omelette followed by SF orange jelly, chia pudding and LC chocolate and ginger granola.

B: ff greek with seeds, 1 sq chopped 100% choc and 4 almonds
L: 4 Ms seedy crackers with stilton, hummus, half small avocado
Real baking ready for friends birthday tomorrow, so licked sugary fingers too often and ate the evidence of the misshapen biscuit but surprisingly didn't spike above 8.
D: 3 egg omelette with ham, peppers, courgette and a bit of cheese.
6 cherries.

These look a bit like what we call Pontefract Cakes (it is licorice not cake).

Bed 6.6 FBG 5.9 - Getting back to normality hopefully. Last day of the holidays. Boys got their final swim in the sea this morning before we headed into school for the pre start visit.
B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with ox tongue and Dairylea.
L. Nothing - after school visit I headed out to replenish supplies for the week ahead. I'll still be home schooling the rest of this week but from Monday we'll start we wean him back into school full time. I reckon 3 or 4 weeks should do it and they are hoping that 6 weeks in the school should be allowed to be pretty much restriction free. "Beyond Level Zero"?? I don't think so!
D. Having picked something Hubby would eat so I didn't have to make different meals, I went for this Diet Doctor spicy chicken.

https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/spicy-keto-chicken-casserole/servings/2

I couldn't get sambal so I substituted harrisa. Otherwise tge only change I made was to add some thinly sliced red pepper to the casserole. Hubby even had the salad with it! I can recommend this casserole - it's really tasty.
Just had a grenade ice cream bar too.

Where is everyone? @DJC3 - Are you OK? Just reading about the high covid infection rates in Cornwall.

@Antje77 I gave myself an ear worm by looking at the liqurice links on Amazon Au, I ended up getting a 1.2 kg tub of the Haribo's I linked to before.

They are coming from Holland, as they are coming via "Post NL" with a delivery date between 26.08.2021 and 02.09.2021.

Will have to have a lot of won't power not to eat them all at once. :D

Sausages, eggs, reheated veggies for breakfast.
Tin of Heinz pea and ham soup, bit carby but nice on my insides on a cool day for lunch.
T bone steak green veggies, gravy for dinner.
Packet of Krackles watching spooks on Prime Video.

I'll be helping Em to make the "Fudge Cake" she wants to make for her parents' 10th anniversary. And I shall be trying very hard not to allow any scraps to find their way into my mouth. Even now, that is still a temptation.

Got through today without feeling sick - I've realised that my stomach has been worse since I started using smoked streaky bacon so next shopping day Neil will get me some unsmoked bacon and see what effect that has. No problem after the ragout, so it isn't all meat that is problematic.

Yes, I remember that way back Pontefract cakes were sold at the chemist. My Dad loved them but you had to be careful not to eat too many.
They made you go pretty quick if I remember correct.:arghh:

There used to be a hard stick of liquorice with the name of the makers stamped on one end sold for a while as well.

I feel like this thread is dying :(
Am I right in thinking there is a chattier ‘what have you eaten low carb thread’ somewhere. I know I’m a mod and should know how to find it but I can’t! :joyful:

There are two food chatter threads threads going in the General Chat forum, both threads are up near the top at present.
