What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast was meant to be cold chicken (out of the freezer yesterday) but it hadn't defrosted (temperature in the kitchen is pretty low - 14 degrees just now) so despite being left all night on the work top, it was still pretty solid so I had fried streaky bacon and fried eggs.

2nd meal will be pan fried liver and onions - still waiting for the liver to thaw though, so maybe not. Plan B - the chicken, which has defrosted now.

First thing a few spoons of hm yoghurts
Lunch a few mushrooms cooked in butter with two eggs scrambled into the same pan and served with a few m and s lc seeded crackers followed by hm yoghurts with a few berries
Dinner pork saltimboca pan fried and served with spoons of salads and sauerkrauts followed by lc blondie warmed and served with hm yoghurt and two squares of 100% chocolate with orange oil and cocoa nibs(don’t know how long offer on but it’s down to £1.85 from £2.50 in Sainsbury’s so I may have bought a few bars!)

Evening all.

Thought of @Riva_Roxaban as I ate lunch today - see pic of stall I bought food from.

Ate breakfast of cold ox tongue, corned beef and pickled onions (about half of what’s on the plate as it was surprisingly filling).
Then an unplanned lunch on the run - had planned to have leftovers from yesterday’s lamb for dinner and skip lunch - as I passed some food trucks on the way to an appointment, one of which was a large bbq. Bought a mix of steak and brisket with onions. Delicious. Will be heading back there - it’s right by the Montezuma’s store, which I managed to avoid going in.

Have had some Fage 0% since getting home.

@MrsA2 - like you, I love this time of year with the spring bulbs up. It also let's me see where these flaming squirrels have been stealing the bulbs from.

Bed 7.2 FBG 6.9. Now that the bug is departing my BGs are back to rising in the morning until I eat something. Today was straight to Physio after school drop off. 45 mins of torture but my legs are a lot better.

B. Just water. No time.
L. Early - 2 M&S crackers 1 with pate 1 with whipped cheese. Later 2 slices of SLC toast with salmon pate and the remains of the pack of M&S pancetta crisps.

D. DD keto parmesan chicken with spring greens and asparagus. Yet another M&S large plum.

I've been very hungry today. 20220315_185242.jpg

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a DGF chocolate chip cookie.
Dinner: LC fish pie with Brussels, runner beans and a couple of baby carrots followed by SF cherry jelly and cream.

Skipped breakfast.
Dance class
Back home tried recreating Cheesies. 1st try with pre sliced emmenthal worked well but they were rather flat than nice and chunky. Test 2 with a softer Spanish cheese (like Port salut) dodnt work, melted really quickly, ran and burnt. Try 3 with cheddar also melted too much. Had temperature too high.
Google tells me to dry the cheese first so have some out on the side hoping the cats don't steal it overnight
So lunch ended up being 3 x 20g cheese, and 100g of kale I'd tried making into crisps. Some went crispy, but some stayed soft. 1 piece cinnamon cake with cream.
Dance class 2
Tea at a friend's who knows full well I'm no sugar so offered 2 whole plates of proper cakes. I nibbled 2 millionaires bites...very hard to say "no in someone else's home.
Dinner: meatballs in tomato sauce and kale. 3 seedy crackers. 1 glass red.

Going to a retirement party tomorrow lunchtime. Buffet. Hope there's something I can eat. There will be dancing.

Toasted tin of sardines in low carb bread done the GF griller for breakfast.
Two cold hard boiled eggs, lemon cordial with a scoopa of osmolax mixed in for smoko.
Beef sausages and mashed pumpkin with some cooked peas stirred in after mashing, for lunch.
Two bacon and egg sandwiches for supper at six.

Quick and lazy but tasty meal of runner beans with butter and salt and a burger.

I found a forgotten bag of chocolaty nut squares in the freezer, and I have some Greek yoghurt which needs to be eaten, so I foresee a rather copious midnight snacking session in bed later on.
I haven't slept nearly enough in the past two days, and this always means a lack of self control when it comes to midnight snacks. Best to just accept this and enjoy, fighting it on too little sleep only leads to frustration!
At least they're low carb snacks! :)

Haven’t felt hungry today. Or as it is 12:30 am I guess I mean yesterday. Carried on fasting from 7:30 pm Monday until 1:45 Tuesday. Tough aqua workout in the morning, a bit of a walk after.
So.. brunch: full fat yogurt with seeds and pomegranate.
Dinner, leftover chicken from day before with cauliflower and broccoli sort of currified with yogurt. I livened up my sparkling mineral water with a slice of lemon and imagined it was G&T.
You folks post some amazing pics of your grub. Whenever I try with iPad, I find the files won’t upload. Too big. Just as well I guess , as my food always (to me, at least) tastes better than it looks in presentation. :hilarious:. Unless I have guests, when I take more care, and that seldom happens these days.

Does not compute!

My iPad gives the option to resize the photos - will post notes on how to do it on the parallel thread.

To stay vaguely on topic, am just having my morning iced water with lime juice and pink salt, and a cheeky Diet Coke! Today’s meals will include the lamb leftovers that didn’t get eaten yesterday.

morning all. for brunch today its going to be 1 scrambled egg with 1 spring onion cooked in butter with airfried smoked bacon and 2 mushrooms. ive been counting the carbs and they came to 3.2. dinner tonight will be air fried belly pork slices with steamed kale and brussel sprouts. so i should have had less than 10g today. thats assuming i can resist my chocolate and buttered ryvitas! im keeping a food diary as well with all the bg readings so maybe i'll understand better what i can and can't eat. fingers crossed!

breakfast: low carb granola, low carb toast and butter and a mocha
lunch: olinas seeded crispbread, cream cheese and serrano, protein bar
dinner: roasted chicken breast in creamy peppercorn sauce, petit pois, tomatoes and a tiny roastie. Strawberries, raspberries and cream
Tea at a friend's who knows full well I'm no sugar so offered 2 whole plates of proper cakes. I nibbled 2 millionaires bites...very hard to say "no in someone else's home.
you have my sympathies @MrsA2 !

Does not compute!
They had hidden themselves by falling down between other stuff in the freezer drawer, and then a package of minced meat had landed on top!

I use Facebook, they shrink the images too. I just post on Fb (you can select only visible for yourself) and then copy and paste here. :)

Hi All
Firstly thanks @shelley262 for the welcome back. @Antje77 dont know why but finding the half eaten carrot in your bed really made me chortle. Back on topic yesterday’s brekkie was usual slice HiLo toast and lots of tea. Lunch yesterday was small piece of cheese & bacon quiche, mixed salad and a few pickled silverskins.
Supper was mini mestballs in tom & chilli sauce and cauli rice.
Lunch today was chicken soup followed by tea & DGF choc orange brownie.
Supper tonight is a kind of Asian chicken pieces baked with grated ginger, chopped pepper, spring onions and broccoli.

2.30 pm - just had what I hope will be my one meal today - liver and bacon, Asian style. I sliced the liver very thinly and the same for the bacon, then an onion had the same treatment and finely chopped some ginger and garlic. Stir fried and finished with some chicken stock and some soya sauce. Very tasty and I could have eaten more, but thought I shouldn't. I hope that will be it for today - no guarantees though.

There's another portion and a half left and also some larger bits of liver which I poached in milk very briefly so I can make some pate with it.

Evening all. Today’s on the run food was wings from Wingstop. Tried to get a cake from the sugar free bakery on Upper Street, but it was closed, so settled for these.

6 x garlic Parmesan flavour and 6 x lemon pepper flavour. That was dinner.
Breakfast was air fried pork belly pieces.

I've completely fallen off the bandwagon of regularly posting. I hope nobody minds if I join in, it really helps me remain accountable!

@valuator welcome to this thread we love new members and it can be a good place to keep on track and also get support if you had a stumble on the road too!
Todayfor me
First thing a couple of spoons of hm yoghurts
Late lunch left over frittata with a couple of spoons of sauerkraut and fermented peppers followed by more spoons of hm yoghurts with a few berries and th3n four squares of 100% choc
Dinner hm venison meatballs in pasta with 10g of cooked high protein lentil pasta and glass of red wine followed by lc ginger bread with a bit more hm yoghurt.
As you can see from my menus over last month my hm yoghurt project is still going strong really seems to suit me and my bgs as well as regular fermented food.
