What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

A mooch round Aldi. Found the 85% choc at $1.99 which was sooo much better than the $4 in Wholefoods yesterday so actually bought some,
You got me searching for my pics of my dark chocolate collection in the US a few years ago. See pics. The ‘Alter Eco’ one was delicious and the little Ghiradelli squares were great! See also the various types of baked cheese (not cheap but delicious). I came home with a carry on full of all this, plus small (1 or 2 oz I think) from CVS.

Hi All
so back to Saturday evening which was Tandoori King Prawns and cauli rice and a popadom. Yesterday had usual brekkie of slice LC toast and copious tea. Lunch was scrambled egg, mushrooms fried in butter and grilled tomato, very tasty.
evening was Roast chicken which was well on the way in the oven when we had to do dash to A&E with Mr PM’s A Fib sending his heart rate soaring. Turned the oven off, got back 1am and chicken had finished cooking in residual heat so scoffed a chicken leg. Mr PM had sandwich and crisps while we were there.

My goodness how scary! Is he home again and stable now?

That must have been very scary for both of you. Hug for both of you and hope his heart rate settles down quickly. Was he kept in overnight?

Bacon and eggs for breakfast.
More of the chicken pie filling for 2nd meal.
Might have a tiny piece of brownie to keep my visitor company. That's my excuse anyway.
So far not so good. Plans gone out of the window. Too busy doing bits and pieces to get breakfast so had a very quick cream of mushroom soup - a few spoonsful, along with my second lot of pain killers today; the rest is in the fridge This 2nd lot of pills is not a good sign but I added in an extra codeine which might make it work.

So - forget the bacon and egg and I'll look forward to the chicken pie filling later on.

@Maglil, get the children to collect conkers and put some in every room. I do it every year and have very few spiders, they hate the smell so the more you have the less spiders! Simples! Today is pensioners lunch and I will try to be careful, so for tea tonight I will have a prawn cocktail and salad. The sauce for the prawns is a Keto ranch dressing, very nice too. Have a good week everyone

That's a great hint Rosemary. Must try to get hold of some conkers. Sadly, there don't seem to be any on our trees - the storms may have done their worst before the conkers developed.

I'll set grandsons the task. Thanks for that. I'm sure it's residual from my long departed Granny. I hate thunder & lightning too because, in a thunderstorm, she'd shut us in a cupboard (no windows/lights) while she unplugged everything and, what lands on you in dark places? Spiders!!

Thursday 29 September bed 7.9 FBG 8.2.

Having made a serious attempt to join the "excessive jumpers group" (I have 9 new ones now) I decided to focus on something very necessary - a new "going out" winter coat. I've been looking for a while and my online ads consisted of some VERY expensive coats. This one from M&S popped up and it is £65. Decided to go have a look to check the quality (which is excellent). Hubby came too to offer an opinion. Trouble is there are 2 colours - the red and mocha. I did have a lot of M&S vouchers so, I now own both coats! Feeling a little guilty I felt obliged to buy Hubby 2 jumpers!

B. TAG and a bit crustless quiche

L. 13g of the Lidl vegetable crisps

D. SLC pizza which I made up with tomato, shredded mortadella and a mix of grated cheddar and mozzarella. Grenade ice cream bar.

Friday 30 September - bed 8.7 FBG 9.2 still feeling a bit off and legs and BGs tend to confirm it.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with ox tongue and coleslaw.

L. Nothing

D. A seafood gratin mix of scallops, prawns, squid, cod with a cheese sauce, spinach and samphire. Parmesan/almond flour/parsley mix to gratin the top.

I did have a nicks coconut bar later.Screenshot_20221003-143733_M%26S.jpg

Ohhhh my goodness! I would pass out if I was shut in a dark cupboard! You can also get a spray to keep the spiders away, it contains the same thing really but you could spray anytime.

Cream cheese and smoked salmon would be excellent on it. Is it found on a cool shelf or a normal shelf?

It’s with the bread in the bakery section.

@RosemaryJackson has beaten me to it with the conker tip, I was going to say the same. There are no horse chestnuts near where we live now so this year I’ve had to ask my old neighbour in West London to go and collect some and post them down to me! I swear it helps keep the blighters at bay.

@maglil55 you have taken jumper buying up a level - 2 coats??
Large breakfast today, I was just hungry. 3 fried eggs. 3 strips streaky bacon and 2 slices Edam cheese
Lunch - small ish veggie salad with h/m mayo. Then a semi frozen desert made by mashing frozen berries with cream and h/m yoghurt.
D- I’m on my own this week so a very simple dinner - mince and broccoli fried together in butter, then soy sauce splashed on top. Choc chia pud.

Saturday 1 October - bed 9.3 FBG 9.1. BGs seem to be getting worse. I still feel off but not terribly ill in any way.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with whipped cheese. Jujitsu back on the agenda now the road works are away.

L. Much later after shopping - bit of crustless quiche.

D. Cold cuts again, ox tongue, wafer thin chicken and roast beef, ham, coleslaw and 1/2 a kind of scotch egg (no outer crumb).
Gin and zero lemonade with a couple of sliced strawberries in it. @Riva_Roxaban - I'm working my way through a Tasmanian gin. It takes me a while but this one I love the bottle. It stands upside down. It's a nice gin.

I've almost caught up!

@RosemaryJackson - Granny was terrified of thunderstorms but her actions did scar us kids a bit. While my sister was still with us, she didn't resort to cupboards but she would go sit in a hallway with all tge doors shut during a thunderstorm.

@DJC3 Thanks for that. I'll nip in the next time I'm passing ASDA. 2 coats usn't as extravagant as it seems. I was delighted with a well made winter coat at £65 and I kept finding M&S vouchers I hadn't used. By the time I'd applied all the discounts the 2 coats cost me £55. Bargain! I must stop buying jumpers though. Now I need new scarves for the coats but Hubby can buy them for me in Bath. Screenshot_20221003-190844_Samsung%20Internet.jpg

How frustrating, the pictures haven't loaded somehow.
Could you try again?
As you've probably realised 'mooching' supermarkets and foods is my favourite holiday activity
