What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Morning all. It's a beautiful day here, automatically makes you feel better. BG's high again so going vlc today. Bf was bacon, egg, tomatoes and mushrooms cooked in butter. Lunch will be carvery as my son-in-law is taking me out. It would have been my daughter's 53rd birthday on thursday so we are going to cheer each other up. Have a great Sunday everyone.

Hi, diagnosed June 21, went low carb. Consulted a consultant endocrinologist who was mega pleased with my HbA1c reduction. Wouldn’t give me a carb limit, said ‘I’ve got to live’! So I try my best.
This morning numbers shot up from 7 last night to 8 ‍♀️ So breakfast was sausages, egg, bacon and tomato ‍♀️

Saturday 24 September bed 7.4 FBG 7.6. A bit heavy headed after last night's wine indulgence but no Jujitsu today as road works would involve a long detour.

B. TAG with 2 slices of SLC toast with whipped cheese.

L. Bit of crustless quiche (funny how alcohol makes you hungry). Ventured out for shopping after.

D. Usual cold cuts, ox tongue, wafer thin chicken and beef, pork & egg, ham, coleslaw and 4 of Hubby's chips. Lots of water.

Sunday 25 September. Swimming lesson day. Bed 8.4 FBG 7.6.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with ox tongue and coleslaw.

L. Lidl vegetable crisps. They are 9.6g carbs for a small pack of crisps size. Half of that is enough for me so 13g = 4.8g carbs. It's a large bag so I weigh them out into smaller packs.

D. Usual campari and soda. Rose veal with exotic mushrooms, wilted spinach and cauliflower cheese. Grenade ice cream bar.
I even remembered to take a photo!

Monday 26 September bed 7.3 FBG 8.5. Morning figures are a bit doolally at the moment.

Back on the school runs!

B. TAG and a bit crustless quiche.

L. Feeling very hungry! A SLC sandwich with ox tongue and coleslaw.

D. Leftover cold cuts. Wafer thin chicken and beef, ox tongue, pork & egg, ham, haslet, coleslaw and santini tomatoes.
Grenade Ice cream bar and a Nicks coconut bar.
To be fair I did walking and a 1hr Aquafit session this morning.

I still have 100 posts to get through but I hope you are better now @DJC3 and welcome back @RosemaryJackson . 20220925_183437.jpg

Tuesday 27 September bed 7 2 FBG 8.1??

B. TAG and a bit crustless quiche

L. SLC not cross bun with butter

D. Courgetti carbonara and a Grenade ice cream bar.

I am pretty narked at my energy supplier. My last supplier merged with them earlier this year so it wasn't my choice Anyway, I upped my DD from £161 to £221 earlier this year even although I wasn't using that much as I was aware it was going to increase. I'm narked because they have changed my DD to £237 now even although I'm £600 in credit and it's increasing by over £100pm. I called them and was assured they would change it back and confirm it. I think they're at it.

I think they try it on. Earlier this year they wanted to increase mine, despite me being heavily in credit. When I rang to query they both refunded the credit and reduced the direct debit to something more realistic.

To stay on topic, I found some Schneider Brot protein bread in Asda today - thanks @DJC3 - and promptly had a couple of slices with copious amounts of butter and a little almond butter. Hit a spot. Yum!

Welcome and well done on reducing your HbA1c.
It always surprises me when medical professionals are shy of recommending low carb and say things like ‘ you’ve got to live’ It’s precisely because we want to live that we embrace this way of eating!

Brunch was a 3 egg bacon and Brie omelette then a spoonful of h/m yoghurt with seeds and nuts.

Out for the day at a dog show where Dennis won 3 medals including a first in the ‘Most Like their Owner’ class: Paul had been under instruction not to shave for a week so he and Dennis had matching grey beards and flat caps . Granddaughter came second in ‘Best Child Handler’ and also first in ‘Best Trick’ I couldn’t have been prouder!
Dinner was IP 4 minute beef. I’d forgotten how good this is and such an easy way to cook a 2kg topside. Made a quick cauli cheese to have with it. 1 glass celebratory red wine.

Breakfast was instant coffee and two very small hard boiled eggs with mayo and salt, boiled at home before leaving.

I got to feed goats while waiting for the water to boil!

Quite a search to find a camping but all settled now. :joyful:
Didn't have lunch (except for half a Haribo worm to make sure I stayed above 5 while driving).

Very nice dinner of my aunt's rollade and ratatouille just before dark.

Didn't finish the bag of pork scratchings yesterday (I sensibly ate some greek yoghurt as well) so I'm pretty sure what I'll snack on before sleeping. :)

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a food dr bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Tea at ILs: cold meat, cheese and salad buffet followed by one Jaffa cake!

Bacon and eggs, two slices toast and vegimite for brekfast.
Two hard boiled eggs that came out of the ones we cooked up for salads,
Cube roll steak, mixed salad for lunch.
Pot of chicken laksa soup, two slices of toast for supper at six.

Glass of single malt before a early night, about seven hours straight sleeping, then dozed back off agani for another couple hours. :)

Edit: dyslexiac spellin'.

Cheese and mushroom omelette with a spoon of turmeric and ginger sauerkraut for breakfast.
Lunch was a slice of Schneider Brot protein bread I found in Asda yesterday. Not seen this for a while. Only 4 g carbs per slice. I topped it with cream cheese, red pepper, avocado and prosciutto. H/m yoghurt and seeds to follow.
Tonight’s dinner is a DD favourite - Keto chicken cordon Bleu casserole, with a glass of red no doubt. View attachment 56665
That looks interesting.

Wednesday 28 September bed 8 2 FBG 7.8. Boys are here for dinner but I have 2 pickups after school as youngest is at an after school basketball group.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with ox tongue and whipped cheese.

L. Nothing

D. 2 Wagu beef burgers with Emmental cheese slices, wilted spinach and santini tomatoes.Nicks coconut bar.

Can I just say, I hate spider breeding season! Caught two of the blighters tonight. They have been dispatched to the bushes the other side of the car park. They seem to have longer legs this year and I hate the way they move!

edited - spelling.

Woke at 7, breakfast of 2 scrambled eggs with ham
Then fell asleep on sofa until 12! Think I'm still adjusting to time changes
Skipped lunch
A mooch round Aldi. Found the 85% choc at $1.99 which was sooo much better than the $4 in Wholefoods yesterday so actually bought some, and some wine at $2.95 which is actually rather nice.

D a takeout of prime rib with Brussels and mash (latter went to hubby) Boy the meat was good. Just about resisted eating it all. Some in the fridge for tomorrow
