Early afternoon a slice of low carb bread with ham.
Feeling pretty much like a wet dishcloth (Dutch idiom, you'll get the gist) so I thought to do a self test because I was going for my annual bloods tomorrow.

Looks like I can sleep in tomorrow and the days after. :grumpy:

Not hungry so I told myself to at least eat two crackers for my evening meal, one with Turkish sausage, one with two different cheeses, which I managed but they're not sitting too well.
Will try some chicory with hummus or chocolate in bed.
English idiom - feeling like a wet rag.
Sorry to hear that's how you're feeling, Antje and hope you feel better very quickly. Will you be able to reorganise the blood test easily enough?

B. TAG

L. Vegetable bouillon

D. Mussels in white wine. DGF Christmas pie and CC little chocolate pot.

No problem at all!
The thing is that I have my (already postponed by me) yearly endo appointment on the 16th, not much use to go for the appointment if no results are in yet.
So depending on how things are going I'll have to postpone again. Which isn't a big problem but it does make me look like I'm trying to avoid her.

Is an endo appointment normal where you are? I've never had any endo input and I don't know if it is common in this country. The only, supposedly, annual appointment I have is a check on my liver (to see if the cirrhosis has worsened). Unfortunately, this year, they forgot to take bloods, or maybe they just didn't bother. Who knows, with the way the UK health service is going these days?

Christmas day - bed 6.6 FBG 6.8. Busy, busy. 2 ovens and the air fryer going. All my prep yesterday paid off. Finished making GF sesame prawn toasts for the boys plus veggie spring rolls. Stuffing was already mixed ready to cook, and Hubby had all the veg prepped. LC creme brulee made, strawberries washed and halved and a LC chocolate pear cake made.

B. TAG and my last slice of SLC toast with butter. My delivery never arrived.

L Nothing

D. Usual campari and soda and I had LC prosecco I'd bought earlier from SLC. Starter scallops on black pudding on pea puree *which I made yesterday and rubbed through a sieve. Main, turkey and all the trimmings (that's son's plate not mine in the pic). Much later I did have a LC creme brulee while the rest indulged on cheese (boys had ice creme and strawberries).

My legs were in a bad way going to bed though. Too much done too quickly.

@DJC3 glad to read Paul made it. What a start to your break.

For tea last night my lovely wife made me a pastry free Quiche in the Romoska (Low carb and cheap and quick to cook) containing Cheese, Broccoli, Bacon, Red Onion, Egg, Tomato. It was lovely. This was followed by an inch slice of Chocolate Yule log ( very bad) with Rodda's Cornish clotted cream ( Good and made just a few miles away).

BG was 5.4 before meal and had only risen to 6.0 after 2 hours which amazed me as I had had a bad thing lol. Quiche very tasty, easy to make and good for Type twos.

The quiche looks great. I’d never heard of a Romoska and had to look it up, looks like a very good gadget.

I had trouble getting warm after doing my morning round feeding all the animals in my garden and blamed the covid for hours.
Turned out I had forgotten to close the window after getting out of bed, nothing to do with being feverish. :bag: :hilarious:

Not hungry, and while it won't hurt me to eat less than usual for a couple of days, I do need to eat something.
So breakfast at 3:30 PM, low carb cracker with a nice stinky cheese, bought at the market in Amsterdam last week.

Also made a creamy tomato soup with mushrooms, still trying to find the courage to heat a bowl to eat.
I have a feeling it will be pork scratchings with aioli in bed instead, possibly some nuts and chocolate, maybe even some chicory and hummus, but I don't expect so.

Oh well, pork scratchings are food too, and I'm not going to tell myself off for not properly eating when under the weather as long as I eat something.

And right after posting the above I felt like eating something, just not the tomato soup.

Good thing all rules (even your own) are postponed when ill, half a Turkish sucuk sausage was exactly what I wanted! :)
