I think your view is a little harsh. The concept and practice of ‘feasting and fasting’ is not inherently dangerous, indeed it’s promoted by many experts in fasting for health, including Dr Jason Fung - see this article. Many on here (including me) find intermittent fasting to be an excellent adjunct to a low carb/ketogenic way of eating.Goodness you are taking risks ! Splurging and then fasting? Are you joking ?
You should be eating steadily and carefully- I’m sure you know that. We all go off the rails a little bit but this sounds extreme and very dangerous. It isn’t your gadget you shouldn’t trust but your commitment.
Never been told to prick testing, just go to the doctors every 3 months for tests its usually the one that tells you your average level it started at 94 but for the last 6 months its sitting at 40,Hi there. No. Not all carbs are off the menu, but many of us choose to take a very light touch with them. That's pretty much what I do and have had decent success with that since 2013.
One thing a number of people do comment upon though is that they don't get on with cereals, and even less so in the mornings.
Do you do finger prick testing on your bloods to see how the things you eat are affecting you? Do you take any meds for your diabetes?
Firstly, really well done on that stocking reductio. Self testing just helps highlight the foods that raise our bloods a lot, and more than the individual cares for.Never been told to prick testing, just go to the doctors every 3 months for tests its usually the one that tells you your average level it started at 94 but for the last 6 months its sitting at 40,
To be honest, katittley, I try to avoid telling people they are eejits. I might prefer to ask howtheir eating plan is working for them and go from there.Goodness you are taking risks ! Splurging and then fasting? Are you joking ?

Your dinner looks good!Went to the sea today, definitely the wrong spot for collecting seaweed. Technical story to do with it being the 'wantij' (couldn't find a translation) where two currents of the upcoming tide meet, resulting in lots of muddy sediment. Long story short: can't walk out far enough for seaweed without getting stuck in the mud.
Found a cool video on how to transform nori sheets to tasty crunchy snacks like the ones that scarred @Annb so much though!
So much better than the store bought ones!
I used olive oil, that being the only cooking oil I have, worked fine.
It didn't go as smooth as in the video, but I guess it wasn't her first time as it was for me so that's ok!
Roasted seaweed sheets (Gim-gui)
Today I'm going to show you how to make a simple but delicious Korean side dish: crispy and salty roasted seaweed sheets. Called gim-gui (김구이) in Korean, they are a common item in lunchboxes because they taste great and are a good source of protein, vitamin, minerals, and fiber. Their saltiness...www.maangchi.com
Turned the last of my veggie-pork belly-peanut sauce dish into a thick peanut soup with a semi soft boiled egg and some of the nori chips. Had more nori chips when passing tham on my way to the bathroom. Will have to buy more nori, I absolutely love this!
