Morning All
first of all @DJC3 I felt completely fine when my BG went down from 9.2 to 4.6 within a short time after the bacon bap.
Last. night’s Indian experience was awful for various reasons. I chose Tandoori King Prawns and broccoli & cailiflower Tandoori florets. A large white plate was delivered with TWO prawns and a side plate with half a dozen florets. The prawns cost £18 so I expected at least 4. Then I managed to dribble some of Mr P’s sauce down the front of my favourite Joules Harbour top and then made the big mistake of dipping the napkin in my glass of water and rubbing it, only the napkin was RED. So I have bought emergency Vanish but though the curry stain is gone the big red patch remains. All in all an expensive and disappointing evening.
This morning usual brekkie of LC toast and two mugs tea.
Lunch will be dressed crab from the fish shack
Supper unknown but hoping tonight’s place can do a simple bit of fish with some veg.

Back home after a wonderful wedding experience and of course was given cake on the day and to take away. Will get back to normal LC posting tomorrow but yes yesterday at wedding and today when back shared a slice of this cake with OH. We had a slice of the raspberry layer yesterday and the blueberry layer today. I avoided the frosting though as not a fan and had a small sliver both times but the cake was delicious.
Otherwise ate broadly low carb. I so enjoyed going with the flow had happy days and my bgs seem if anything lower - but I did about 25k steps a day didn't sit down much and felt so so happy sure this helped. I'm sure also though that this is a rare occasion so I'll also be happy to go back to my usual food from tomorrow - oh whoops that's if I can avoid the last slice of cake in the fridge!
Sounds like you had a wonderful couple of days.View attachment 61246View attachment 61247View attachment 61248

It wasn't difficult to do but the trouble was, it involved me standing and bending down to the level of the bed to set it up and then to do the rolling. That's what took me the time - had to rest 10 minutes to recover from every 5 actually doing the job to get over the pain of actually standing and bending. My hips and knees were crunching and grinding the whole time so stopping after short bursts of action was essential. That rolling method with the quilt gets quicker when you get used to it. I did get a bit fed up with the quilt dislodging when it was in place, so I got a box of "pins" on Amazon that you push through the duvet/quilt (just pin size) and it holds it firmly in place. How do you make them? (And more importantly of course, are they good and do I want to make them as well?Breakfast: One of my experimental keto cheese biscuits
I put it sideways, so the bottom is at the side of the bed. That way, I'm not having to go from side to side (King Size). Then, when it's in place, I now pin it and put it back where it should be.It wasn't difficult to do but the trouble was, it involved me standing and bending down to the level of the bed to set it up and then to do the rolling. Had my few bits of gouda this morning but haven't bothered with anything else apart from a few tastes of the low carb things I was making. They didn't turn out as expected but were quite acceptable. Prepped quite a lot of veggies, hard boiled some eggs, steamed some salmon and made some smoked mackerel pate (intended to include some anchovy in it, but forgot), made some banana and peanut butter muffins and some cheese biscuits. Had to cook off the chicken thighs and make stock from the bones and skin - those 2 were the last I am doing today and are just about done so I can turn it all off and go to bed now.
BG has been too high all day despite no meals. Also forgot to take my normal pills but that shouldn't have kept my BG high.
You can probably push the end bit through the skewer to stop it unravelling.@maglil55 and @RosemaryJackson re the bacon twists. The metal skewer is a good idea but I think my bacon was just a bit too thick to stay twisted. Thinner rashers would be better. Also cutting the rind off first, which I can rarely be bothered to do, might stop it unravelling. Either way, they were crispy and perfect to dip, so I’d thoroughly recommend.
They are made with coconut flour and you can tell. Just a kind of dryish coconut texture. But they tasted fine with the cheese (I used a fairly strong cheddar and mustard to support it). I kind of made it up as I went along so I'll need to try to remember how I did it and how it might be improved without resorting to almonds. How do you make them?
