Many thanks for that @DJC3 & @shelley262 - I didn't build it up and just started of with my usual large portion sizes! and I wondered why after years and years of being ok my ibs symptoms have returned and they were really only the new foodstuffs I have tried recently and wondered if it was this ... looks like it was ... I may try again when everything settles down but I am a little wary tbh ...I agree with @shelley262 maybe start with much smaller quantities, or just the liquid part and build up. It can be potent stuff. I noticed on the Zoe ferments study info they suggest a portion of sauerkraut is just 35g.
The chuckling Goat kefir I’ve been getting advise to start at 1 tablespoon a day for a week and gradually build up week by week to a daily dose of 170ml so I think all these fermented foods can take some adjusting to.
I hope you find a way through it, IBS is grim, I sympathise.

Today's HbA1c result 35 mmol/mol, (down from 44 in September 2022). I'm so pleased.
Logging my food intake here, it must be said, helps to keep me motivated, especially when readings drift upwards due factors beyond our control like infection.
@DJC3 and @maglil55 like you guys my OH is in training for enjoying bake off I'm now really looking forward to Tuesday evenings.
