What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

*shepherdess. Yes I know it’s impossible to learn all the quirky spellings of the English language!
You know I'm always very happy to be corrected on my spelling, you lot are just to polite to help me improve!
In this case it was the result of a cheap keyboard though, it often misses letters and I regularly have to go back and add them in. I've written shepherd so often yesterday, I should be able to write shepherdess as well!
I thought it was Shepherdless Pie!
I should hope so! I always thought being a shepherd would be a very peaceful profession, not one where you'd have to run for your life from hungry Englishmen wanting a meal.
Let me get this correct: With lamb it's shepherd's pie, with beef it's cottage pie, vegetarian it's shepherdless pie. So what do you call it if made with minced shepherds?
Dinner will be third day of the same soup. It's a nice soup but three days is a bit much so now I'm hungry but still not motivated to heat up my soup.
Reheated and ate the last of the soup made more interesting by adding parmesan and some bacon cubes.

Along with shepherd's pie & cottage pie, I also make coop pie & sty pie, with mashed cauli atop now.

I'd better add to keep on topic, I had Asda Roasted Garlic Butter Mussels for my meal today. Prefer home done, but they're not bad for 8 minutes boil in the bag for 22g of carbs, plus a Jo-Lo lc roll.

Precious family memories

Yesterday hubby had his new knee replacement op. So it was an anxious day - apparently all's gone very well. So I was left alone on a miserable rainy day, and feeling very anxious. I knew foodwise it would be a tough day yesterday so I prepared by cooking up a packet of sausages to nibble on when the eating urge struck as I knew it would. Why the heck did I buy Richmond sausages? They're over 6g carbs for two and I would be soon up to my carb quota. In the end it wasn't so bad, even though I did nervously graze a lot, total carbs came to 38g, the highest I've been since June. Going to bed last night BG had behaved too, so all wasn't lost.

Early breakfast (had to drop hubby off at hospital by 7am), back home for 8.30am and tucked into breakfast of 2 slices back bacon, egg, mushrooms and a sausage. Coffee and cream followed.

Mid day coffee and cream, and a cold sausage, an hour later 2 cold sausages

Dinner, 100g tuna in spring water, mayo and cubed celery - coffee and cream with 4 squares of 90% chocolate

Supper (not had supper for yonks ) - Cream blue cheese and an apple.

Remaining sausages are now in the freezer. Think I'll make some nice soup today, it's certainly the weather for it!

I always add mushrooms in my shepherd/cottage pies. I love their flavour.

Breakfast: RyVita with cheese melted onto it.

Just back from having my covid and flu jabs so it was an early start on cups of tea and breakfast when I came back.

2nd meal: will be beef ragout from the freezer with some more shredded Brussels sprouts and slices of courgette.

Just heard that DIL and Em are back on the Island. They came via Uig and Tarbert (Harris) and are on their way from there (about 1 to 11/2 hours driving). They will be back in time just to drop everything, change and head out again to 2 year old great granddaughter's birthday party. After that, I imagine, they will both crash and not be seen until Monday at the earliest. At least, the new bath is plumbed in now and DIL can luxuriate in that before bed. Em prefers a shower and, in any case, the new bath is in the "master" bedroom so DIL can get out of the bath and straight into bed.

Monday 16 October - bed 8.1 FBG 7.6. Yesterday's Tournado was always one of my favourite meals. I must make it more often. It's the start of the school holidays, but I'm still up early and off to Aqua.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with the leftover pate from the Tournado. Benecol dairy free.

L. Nothing

D. Buratta with some avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, salami, and a thin slice of scramoza. CC little chocolate pot.

Tuesday 17 October - bed and FBG both 7.6. Up early again, as the doctor was calling regarding my too high uric acid results. Given a choice between gout and another pill, I guess I'll take the pill.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with ox tongue and a cheese triangle.

L. A bit of crustless quiche.

D. I wasn't feeling hungry, I eventually ended up with 2 SRSLY hot dogs with onion, mustard, and ketchup.
Gin and zero lemonade.

Out for breakfast at the Pancake Hut. I had a bacon and cheese omelette ( thanks for the tip @Rachox )
Afternoon spent in the pool, amid great hilarity from granddaughters watching Paul trying to stay afloat along the rapids.
Dinner at Bella Italia a grilled chicken burger without the bun. It was topped with smoked cheese and red peppers. A side of garlic green beans and a huge mixed salad in place of chips. The meal was delivered to our table by a robot with a cat face - a bit creepy tbh but a lovely meal.
Glass of wine and Strictly now

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Dinner: same as yesterday just with a side salad tonight.

MrB quite often fries off some coriander seeds with the mice, the carries on. Delish.

It is also good with Swede mash, or swede added to whichever mash you have. We have also been known to finely chop a chili to go in the mince element.

It's just a great, simple, hearty meal, and even better second day.

With lots of running around this morning, including visiting hubby in hospital, I managed till 4pm before eating. It really does help if I'm occupied so food isn't on the day's agenda.

One meal today. As I'm home-alone at the moment I didn't feel like cooking, I did get a steak out of the fridge, but my 'lazy inner self' decided I fancied corned beef instead. Just sliced, nothing with it.

Afters was a good dish of strawberries and raspberries, with thick double cream.

Coffee with cream

Gin and tonic with a packet of pork scratchings.

Today's carb count, 11g.
