I'd nearly caught up but, get distracted for a day, and you're over 100 ahead of me again!

Monday 29 January - bed 7.7 FBG 7.2. I did get to Aqua today. I took the long way around. Still busy, but I got there. I was glad to unwind a bit.

B. Just TAG.

L. Just before picking up grandson for his lunch. 2 slices of SRSLY toast with ham and a cheese triangle. Benecol dairy free.

D. A bit of crustless quiche with ham, mini German sausage slices, ox tongue, coleslaw, veggie salad. CC little chocolate pot.

This was the final sorting day before furniture removal. It's a bit crowded with furniture AND garden seats/stools indoors.

Tuesday 30 January - bed 7.8 FBG 7.9

I got notification that removal would take place between 12.15 and 3.15 pm. That gave me more organisation time this morning (which included stopping Hubby moving any more buts of furniture about!)

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with Dairylea. Benecol dairy free.

L. Nothing

D. Beef ribs - not nearly as nice looking as yours @DJC3 . I was too busy to bother to be honest. Having gained a lot of space with the removal, it was first good clean time for the floor. Nooks and crannies had been done already, so it was a second swipe for them.

Went to London today to spend the day with my daughter.
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: coconut cappuccino with a carb killa bar, en route at the services while my EV car was charging.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: another coconut cappuccino at Neros and an Aldi protein bar.
Dinner: at Nando’s, 4 boneless chicken thighs, halloumi and coleslaw. A huge bowl of coleslaw so I shared it with my daughter!

Insulin
My new insulin (Lyumjev) seems to be working seriously faster than the old Fiasp. This meal does need a little insulin but not in a hurry, so I'm holding off dosing for it until I heard back from my neighbour about a spontaneous night swim.
If we go swimming I won't need the insulin, glad I didn't inject before the meal if we actually go for a short swim. :)
Same meal as yesterday, except I didn't burn the meat today. :joyful:

Learning how to dose with the Lyumjev is still a work in progress, spent quite some time higher than I like but all good now.
The spontaneous night swim did happen yesterday at 10 pm, supervised by my neighbour-in-the-garden for safety, and followed with a couple of beers and lots of whisky. Which is likely the reason we went for another swim at 3 am, in the very shallow and muddy canal in front of my house. :hilarious: Must remember to retrieve neighbour's ladder tomorrow, it's still at our swimming spot.

Wise? No.
Fun? Heck yes!

Perfect BG as well all through the night and today too, until late afternoon, apparently whisky and midnight swims are good for something. o_O

Cwc
Walk with a friend
L: chunk of manachego, roast belly pork, roast swede, broccoli, green beans.
Then a long drive to memorial.
A nut bar snack in the car
A white wine and soda
On way back, a bag of chicken crackling
Stopped at services that had an M&S , yellow sticker bargains
A snack pot of prawns reduced from £3.60 to 98p. Had 12 big juicy prawns in. I skipped the sweet chilli sauce. A nut bar
Also bought 2 cooked chicken breasts for £1.25. They'll do for tomorrow nicely.
Finally home by 9. A hot chocolate made with Baileys

Wednesday 31 January - bed 7.6 FBG 7.8. Delivery day for the bulk of the new stuff. Once more, it was around lunchtime, so it gave me time for a second furniture free tour around the floor.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with ham and a cheese triangle. Benecol dairy free.

L. Nothing

D. 1/2 a SRSLY pizza with salami and mozzarella. 2 gin and soda - I was worn out!

Delivery & unpacking was great, but the weather changed just after. The resulting torrent of rain meant the garden furniture remained indoors at the other end of the room. Garden furniture is not the best for comfort indoors. It took 2 days for our rear ends to recover!

I realised I had gradually fallen into the habit of having an alcoholic drink every evening.
Last I had this week was Sunday. Am going to go dry until this Sunday, just to prove I can.
If you see me creeping up towards daily again, please nudge me. It seems too easy a habit to fall into. Thank you!
I've been a bit like that lately. I am very much a campari and soda on a Sunday person, but the gin and soda have been creeping in these last few weeks. It's due to my life being even busier than usual, and the rotten weather isn't helping progress either. You've had so much on your plate as well.

Breakfast: bacon and eggs.

Lunch: Had 2 RyVita and cheese "sandwich" because BG was down a bit, but not too far.

There will be another meal today. It will be a chicken thigh with Brussels sprouts.

Feeling a bit frazzled and headachey today - must be the antibiotics. Very difficult to stay awake but I have yet another pile of paperwork to sort out. Dumped quite a lot but there's lots that should have been filed away from years back. At least I found my lost birth and marriage certificates - in a letter claiming my merchant navy pension as Tom's widow - that was over 6 years ago. That's how long this particular basket of paper has been waiting to get sorted.
Once again - it didn't work out to plan. BG dropped floorwards and I realised that I had nothing in the house to stop the drop, apart from a tin of pineapple chunks in juice. It was only a small tin, so I had that. It stopped the drop right enough, but it made me feel horribly sick and made my headache a lot worse. I didn't feel like doing anything except laying back in my chair with a jacket on and a blanket round me. So - no chicken or sprouts. Tested with the Libre and BG was up to 9.4 (didn't bother with a fingerprick but it is usually a couple of points higher than the Libre). 10 minutes ago Libre warned me that BG was 10.8. Must get something in when Neil goes shopping to give a quick, but not long term lift.

Todays breakfast was bacon and egg on a delicious treat of a soft white roll. Lunch was grilled chicken thigh with Greek salad. Dinner will be another leftover Once upon a Chef salmon cake made without the Panko breadcrumbs, with some homemade tartar sauce. I’m on the lookout for low carb recipes, other than pesto, to use up a large bunch of fresh basil…anyone have suggest

I make a quick version of porridge from the Freshwell site. 1tbsp coconut flour, 1tbsp flaxseeds,1tbsp chia seeds, no sugar almond milk to the consistency you like. 2mins in microwave, stir halfway through. I usually add cinnamon, berries, sometimes a blob of greek yoghurt.

Yesterday
B Yog,blueberries,flaked coconut
L Cottage cheese,avocado salad
D Salmon, celeriac mash,broccoli

Morning all. I've had a wonderful weekend with my Irish granddaughter and a friend. We entered a quiz on Saturday, which we won! We shared a hamper between 6 of us. Was really careful what I chose. Then we went to a local pantomime, Robinson Crusoe. Went out for lunch on Sunday with all 3 grandchildren. Today it's Monday lunch at the village hall so it's as yet unknown. I have to ask @MommaE, what is Pickleball? Have a good day all. :)

Pickleball is a racquet sport played on what looks like a half sized tennis court. Lots of fun, exercise and sociable too. We are playing outside here in sunny climes but there are lots of indoor venues too.

Thursday 1 February - bed 7.4 FBG 7.7. Last of the furniture delivery today. I was at a morning meeting to assist with the grandson's subject choices. It was quite interesting as he is adamant he does not want a "fun" subject in there. He says it serves no useful purpose. I was astonished to see that beekeeping was an option. I didn't even know there were hives at the school.

B. TAG and after the school meeting, 2 slices of SRSLY toast with brisket & coleslaw. Benecol dairy free.

L. 1/2 a fulfil bar

D. A rehash of the chicken dish I made last week. Thighs & drumsticks. Cauliflower fried rice and added peas, sliced peppers, and mushrooms. Sauce was honey & mustard (Skinny Food Co Honey). CC little chocolate pot.
Gin and soda x 2!
