Same meal as yesterday, except I didn't burn the meat today. My new insulin (Lyumjev) seems to be working seriously faster than the old Fiasp. This meal does need a little insulin but not in a hurry, so I'm holding off dosing for it until I heard back from my neighbour about a spontaneous night swim.
If we go swimming I won't need the insulin, glad I didn't inject before the meal if we actually go for a short swim.
Went to London today to spend the day with my daughter.
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: coconut cappuccino with a carb killa bar, en route at the services while my EV car was charging.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: another coconut cappuccino at Neros and an Aldi protein bar.
Dinner: at Nando’s, 4 boneless chicken thighs, halloumi and coleslaw. A huge bowl of coleslaw so I shared it with my daughter!

I've been a bit like that lately. I am very much a campari and soda on a Sunday person, but the gin and soda have been creeping in these last few weeks. It's due to my life being even busier than usual, and the rotten weather isn't helping progress either. You've had so much on your plate as well.I realised I had gradually fallen into the habit of having an alcoholic drink every evening.
Last I had this week was Sunday. Am going to go dry until this Sunday, just to prove I can.
If you see me creeping up towards daily again, please nudge me. It seems too easy a habit to fall into. Thank you!
Once again - it didn't work out to plan. BG dropped floorwards and I realised that I had nothing in the house to stop the drop, apart from a tin of pineapple chunks in juice. It was only a small tin, so I had that. It stopped the drop right enough, but it made me feel horribly sick and made my headache a lot worse. I didn't feel like doing anything except laying back in my chair with a jacket on and a blanket round me. So - no chicken or sprouts. Tested with the Libre and BG was up to 9.4 (didn't bother with a fingerprick but it is usually a couple of points higher than the Libre). 10 minutes ago Libre warned me that BG was 10.8. Must get something in when Neil goes shopping to give a quick, but not long term lift.Breakfast: bacon and eggs.
Lunch: Had 2 RyVita and cheese "sandwich" because BG was down a bit, but not too far.
There will be another meal today. It will be a chicken thigh with Brussels sprouts.
Feeling a bit frazzled and headachey today - must be the antibiotics. Very difficult to stay awake but I have yet another pile of paperwork to sort out. Dumped quite a lot but there's lots that should have been filed away from years back. At least I found my lost birth and marriage certificates - in a letter claiming my merchant navy pension as Tom's widow - that was over 6 years ago. That's how long this particular basket of paper has been waiting to get sorted.
Todays breakfast was bacon and egg on a delicious treat of a soft white roll. Lunch was grilled chicken thigh with Greek salad. Dinner will be another leftover Once upon a Chef salmon cake made without the Panko breadcrumbs, with some homemade tartar sauce. I’m on the lookout for low carb recipes, other than pesto, to use up a large bunch of fresh basil…anyone have suggest
I make a quick version of porridge from the Freshwell site. 1tbsp coconut flour, 1tbsp flaxseeds,1tbsp chia seeds, no sugar almond milk to the consistency you like. 2mins in microwave, stir halfway through. I usually add cinnamon, berries, sometimes a blob of greek yoghurt.A couple more questions , a lot of people talking about low carb porridge where an I but this ,
and what’s the best protein bar as a snack,
first prick today 6.7 would love to keep that going ,
best get in the garden and do some work while the sun shinning.
thanks a lot have good day.

Pickleball is a racquet sport played on what looks like a half sized tennis court. Lots of fun, exercise and sociable too. We are playing outside here in sunny climes but there are lots of indoor venues too.Morning all. I've had a wonderful weekend with my Irish granddaughter and a friend. We entered a quiz on Saturday, which we won! We shared a hamper between 6 of us. Was really careful what I chose. Then we went to a local pantomime, Robinson Crusoe. Went out for lunch on Sunday with all 3 grandchildren. Today it's Monday lunch at the village hall so it's as yet unknown. I have to ask @MommaE, what is Pickleball? Have a good day all.
