Could you perhaps make your tea in a thermos so you only have to access the tea station once?Breakfast: bacon and eggs.
2nd meal: fish cakes made with hot smoked salmon, onion and defrosted potato. Should have put more salt in but quite edible.
I've developed a new pain which makes it difficult even to stand up, never mind walk. I'm hoping it will be temporary so will just take some paracemol shortly and hope to feel a bit more comfortable. Trouble is - the tea "station" and fridge are on the other side of the room from my chair - only about 12 feet away, but right now quite a thought to attempt. That means I've not had enough fluid today yet, but will have to just brave it and make some tea and take pills. This is why I ended up with fish cakes - the ingredients were close to hand and I could make the mixture sitting in my chair. I did have to stand up to cook them, but did manage that allright without moving too much.
Another thing I suspect there is sugar in some handwashes. Current one in my bathroom is Carex with Shea butter but has a really sweet smell so don’t trust it before blood testing. Won’t buy it again.
From memory it was Carex but can't remember which one.I think you may be right. I remember @ianpspurs posting something along these lines a few years ago after noticing finger prick BG was higher after washing his hands with a particular brand of hand wash ( can’t remember which).
You're let off in that case @Margarettt. You've given up such a lot already!Nodding my head up and down at this. Maybe a future plan. For now I'm still getting over giving up nicotine lozengers so as long as my carbs are under 20 I sigh with relief.
Doesn't tickle my taste buds, but did remind me of a conversation just yesterday where various friend were bemoaning the hard and tasteless blueberries that seem to be around at the moment. I assume it's it's seasonal/transportation/ import thing?Tried a new recipe: Blueberry and cinnamon omelette topped with a handful of pumpkin seeds
That omelette looked really nice; it's a shame that it didn't taste better. My non-stick pans are definitely becoming sticky, unlike yours.Tried a new recipe: Blueberry and cinnamon omelette topped with a handful of pumpkin seeds, from the Freshwell site. It was pretty bland, doubt I’ll bother again. A handful of nuts about an hour later.
Dinner was pasta bolognaise with a salad of green leaves dressed with ACV and Evoo. Pasta from low carb food co. I didn’t mind it last time I tried but was unimpressed this time, didn’t finish it or the ragu.
Have you tried the many different flavoured carbonated water drinks? Their price and the fizz qualifies them as a treat to me.Skipped breakfast as had a 10 am dental appointment.
Called in after at a friend's for a coffee. She very kindly didn't offer me a biscuit.
Home by 12 for a quick lunch of 2 slices ham with scrambled egg and a little cheese on top. Pud of 2 sqs hm lc rhubarb cake and cream.
A lc hot chocolate drink and a little sleep
Later after a computer paperwork session had a headache so another little sleep.
D: lamb chop with aubergine melanza bake (latter was a shop bought frozen one. Amazed to see carbs for my portion were 18g, hidden in sauce and breadcrumb top I suppose) Not currently testing so no idea what it did to my bg, but do know I prefer the flavour of my own homemade.
A larger than usual portion of coffee icecream.
My attempt to ditch the daily routine alcohol is showing I still need an emotional something to reward me for getting through each day.
Tips on how to get past this please?
DIL noticed the same thing. Not sure which handwash she was using either but she found one that didn't have that effect. I always use Pears soap which doesn't do that.I think you may be right. I remember @ianpspurs posting something along these lines a few years ago after noticing finger prick BG was higher after washing his hands with a particular brand of hand wash ( can’t remember which).
I bought myself a thermos jug for that very purpose some months ago, but it makes everything taste odd, so I gave up on it. Might have another go - have to see if the pain goes away overnight. If it doesn't I suspect I won't be able to go to get my legs bandaged tomorrow.Could you perhaps make your tea in a thermos so you only have to access the tea station once?
Thanks for the suggestion, I have, but they tend to taste chemical to me. I sometimes put lemon or cucumber or ginger into soda water, but mainly in the summerHave you tried the many different flavoured carbonated water drinks? Their price and the fizz qualifies them as a treat to me.
Evening @DJC3.A disappointing food day, didn’t really enjoy any of it for some reason.
Black coffee and goat milk kefir this morning ( enjoyed both of these)
Aquafit class then home for lunch. Tried a new recipe: Blueberry and cinnamon omelette topped with a handful of pumpkin seeds, from the Freshwell site. It was pretty bland, doubt I’ll bother again. A handful of nuts about an hour later.

I think it would, if you think of the omelette a a kind of pancake or crepe. A thin omelette with cream and strawberries starts to sound better and better while I'm typing.I prefer soft fruit that has a bit of a kick like raspberries and blackcurrants., but doubt either would work well in an omelette!
