Dang, forgot to make a picture again!Evening meal was shawarma with onions, some endive by way of salad on top, garlic sauce, and runner beans with a knob of butter and salt on the side.
Not a common combination but I had shawarma and runner beans so why not?
I had my neighbour over for food and drinks so I forgot to make a picture, but tomorrow will be the same meal so I'll get another chance.
Loving your neighbour news updates. Sounds like a wonderful equal relationship.
But can't multitask apparently @sue21 LoL Still, none of us is perfect.
You're right @shelley262 and @LivingLightly .Whatever floats your boat @Antje77. Sounds as though you've picked a good 'un.

I've been reading up on carnivore diets and, while I intend to give it a try (having seen the fantastic result of my friend following it), I suspect that it may not be a long term option for me. I will try, though for as much of a month as I can manage and see what happens, then will try to reintroduce vegetables into my diet. I don't see me managing to go without dairy products nor can I get hold of grass fed products, or bones to make bone broth, so the attempt will not be ideal. My home made sausage should be OK, I think but I can see that processed meat (ham and bacon) could be an issue. Have to think a bit more about that. I'm already missing the few vegetables that I did eat and it's only day 2!
If you have a Lidl near you, they sell grass-fed steaks and minced beef.I can't afford the grass fed meats, so I buy the supermarket stuff...
Sadly I live in Aldi-land! I might have a foray to the nearest lidl and give it a go though. If you have a Lidl near you, they sell grass-fed steaks and minced beef.
Kefir grains feel a bit like having small pets at times you have to keep feeding and they keep growing! I've going to start a regular system of fridge resting periods (nap times!) To help me manage them. I love kefir though and mix a small amount with wild fish oil and really do feel it's improving our health and especially OH. So am keeping on with it to make sure there is enough ready for our daily dose......Evening all, went all out for carnivore today, but ate a lot of it. I'm not sure why because I'm not having hunger pangs but just felt like I needed it - maybe compulsion, or maybe I just need to adjust to not having sides. I don't know. Not going to worry too much!
Lamb steaks with garlic butter x 3!!
pork puffs x2
fahita seasoned chicken breast x 2 (with added chicken fat)
very small bowl 10% fat greek yogurt
Feel very full now!
@shelley262 I've had to put my kefir grains in the freezer, I can't keep up with them!
@IanBish, do you have a recipe for the home made marie rose sauce? That looks amazing!
Thanks, @LivingLightly. The jury's still out on the resistant starch thing, mind. But it's good that I can have carrots and mash from time to time, at least. Some roast potatoes may be the next test, perhaps. I think I may have become a bit more insulin sensitive, so fingers crossed.Brilliant numbers there @IanBish. Thanks for sharing.
Not really a recipe, but I just used reduced sugar tomato ketchup (I couldn't find sugar free) mixed with about the same amount of mayonnaise, and a touch of smoked paprika. It was nice, actually.@IanBish, do you have a recipe for the home made marie rose sauce? That looks amazing!
Tesco sell kefir, but it's almost a fiver a tub. Can you share how you make it? I'd like to try it.Kefir grains feel a bit like having small pets at times you have to keep feeding and they keep growing!
