What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Usual start: strong coffee and double cream. 300ml water with vit C, 10g Good Green Stuff, 25g Clean Lean Protein, 1 table chia, 1 table flax and 600 more ml of water.

B - nothing
L- 2 egg scrambled and 2 bacon, coffee and cream
D - will be pear, walnut and little bit blue cheese with mixed salad. Homemade strawberry ice cream.

Yesterday -
B: none
S: a green smoothie drink, 2 g carbs per portion. Odd flavour. Think I was supposed to put it in fruit juice or something, but that will never happen.
L: fish and chips - small fish, only ate half the batter, and half the chips. The peas were awesome. So often over cooked. These were fresh, popped in the mouth, bursting with flavour, and better than the fish OR the chips! I should get some peas. Had forgotten how much I love them.
D: chicken, bacon, leek in cheese sauce with coleslaw. Mr B found a buy 2 get third free on the coleslaw, so it will figure largely over then next few days.

Today -
B: bacon and egg, tea
L: none
S: slice of cheese
D: baked salmon, spinach salad and coleslaw

Tomorrow will be -
Fast til evening meal, so just coffeesubstitute, broth, herb teas and water
D: more baked salmon (cold), shredded with lemon and mayo. Mr B is already planning the sandwich, with some fancy bread. I will have a salad, and more coleslaw. The salmon is amazing. We bought the whole side, and it was at least 12 inches across at the widest part. The flavour is astonishing. Sadly, this is the last of it.

How high did the fish and chips send you Brunneria (or is that a rude question?)

I didn't test. :) I am between Libre sensors, and tend not to bother with prick testing any more. We went out for a brisk dog walk immediately after, and I just shrugged and assumed that the excess glucose would be mopped up by my muscles. I usually do ok with chips so. Fatless potatoes are a different story though!

May be triple cooked/fried chips would be even better? I'm suddenly thinking of all possible ways to fatten up some carbs........perhaps try my first ever deep-fried mars bar?

It is a neat trick, but it does increase the waistline (carbs+fat=weightgain :( ) so I use it sparingly!

But maybe not sparingly enough!!! lol

D bacon and scrambled eggs, green tea and cream with choc drizzle and chopped hazelnuts.

B Boiled egg, half Livlife roll toasted with butter & Marmite, coffee with double cream
L Mixed salad, mostly home-grown, with mortadella, and warm olives, artichoke & yellow pepper in olive oil, and a chunk of Davidstow (Cornish) cheddar
D Coconut cod & prawn curry with sliced tomato & crunchy onion on one side and slightly curried spinach, garlic & cream cheese melt on the other. Plus half of one of Mrs DeeJay's little veg samosas*
*About 6 carbs, I think

I was a good diabetic on my LCHF until tonight ...

- finished a pot of Oppo, Mint Choc Chip :)
- half a bar of 80% Lindt
- lots of cheese (this is ok!)
- and red wine

Hopefully my FBG won't be too bad in the morning ;)

I tried a small fish (I ate all the batter and loved it!) and a few chips - was up at 9.2 within an hour - but dropped down to 5.5 at the 2 hour mark.

Sometimes I never understand my BG ....

B: Scrambled Egg, Bacon & Tomato
L: Goats Cheese with Salad and gallons of EVO
D: Grilled Turbot and another salad of tomatoes, avocado and other stuff.

Bottle of Rosado for lunch and a bottle and a bit of Tinto for dinner.

@PenfoldAPD

I can beat you - I made Jamie Oliver truffles (double cream, butter, 85% dark chocolate) I ate 4 of them!!!

Usual start: strong coffee and double cream. 300ml water with vit C, 10g Good Green Stuff, 25g Clean Lean Protein, 1 table chia, 1 table flax and 600 more ml of water.

Same as usual:)

Gosh, they sound awesome .... off to google the recipe :)

Use about 100 - 50g less than the recipe suggests or they will be quite strong and fairly bitter unless you like that. You can also add some xylitol to hot mild to sweeten. I added grated lime and rolled in coconut, some just in coco, ginger to some and chopped nuts, put a bit of sea salt on some. They keep for a week in the fridge or freeze well

Will try the truffles

yesterday..............

B: Josephs low carb pita with cheese/chive dip, humous, pate and egg mayo, coffee with loads of double cream

L: beef sandwich with butter, mayo, using Hilo bread

D: Josephs low carb pita with M & S peruvian chicken skewers (highly recommended)

S: bits of bombay mix, nuts, nibbling on cold meat and cheese

before bed, small slice of my wife's lemon drizzle cake, loaded with clotted cream, only sent me up to 7.7, so just about got away with that one.

B - Sardines
L- Chicken strips and raw cabbage
D - Cabbage and chicken mexican style
S- 1/2 of a large cake of the high carb variety and strawberries. (FBS was 5.5 in the am)

B bacon eggs coffee
L burger without bun
D leftover chicken with avocado on lettuce wraps.

I hate to say it cause it verges on sexism but guys are the only people I know who can actually feel pride in monotonous diets.

That is so true. Left to my own devices, my weekly diet would be almost the same.

Yvonne has always said I am easy to feed...true when I was bad and just as easy now I'm being good:)
