what was your lesson?Breakfast was two slices of cold pepperoni fathead pizza - took BG to 9.7 after 2 hrs (from 8.0) - learnt a lesson there!
what was your lesson?
I think mine would be that the pizza only raised me 1.7 so it makes a good breakfast
Mind you, I would be wondering why I was at 8 for my fasting blood glucose...?
Sorry @Ultramum can't remember whether you are a lc veteran or new to it. Because we have very different reactions to readings depending on our various back stories
Hello and you are very welcome to the forum and to this thread.Hi All,
This is my first post on the forum although I have been lurking for about a year.
Been lchf since boxing day. I would like to thank everyone on the forum, this has changed the way I look at food.
7.4 fasting.
Breakfast Greek full fat yogurt.
Lunch tinned tomatoes on two slices of Bergen bread.
Dinner Chicken and veg.
Thank you, I will have a look.Hello and you are very welcome to the forum and to this thread.
As you have been lurking you've probably seen the post that @daisy1 has for newcomers but I've just tagged her again because I find it useful to read it again every now and then - but going by your menu I'd say you've taken on board how useful low carbing is to us Type 2s. Once again, welcome.
The scallop dish was indeed excellent. Had to half the steak - it was enormous!Sounds amazing. Can I come over to your house for dinner?
I find that coffee can increase my blood sugars. It's weird as they say it's good for folk with diabetes so you'd think it would have the opposite effect. The coffee question is inconclusive. Without the coffee on its own BG crept up 0.2 from the fasting level which is not a lot (and a lot less than yesterday). Need to repeat it again and see what happens.
B. 2 scrambled eggs with parsley and 2 rashers of crispy bacon and my delayed coffee.
L. Black tea and another Oopsie ham, avocado and salad sandwich. (Day 2 and the Oopsie was still soft and springy. Will be making a lot more and freezing).
D. Another air fried chicken thigh and drumstick with mixed leaf salad and Helmanns.
Going out tomorrow so alcohol will figure!
Thank you @Chook. The picture is of my beloved Sadie, our golden retriever who went to Rainbow Bridge a few weeks ago. Our poor Bosley (goldie boy age 3) has been lost without her but we have a lovely girl arriving on Wednesday for him. She is 3 aswell and her name is Angel .. can't help but think our Sadie is sending her to us@Lesleywo
I love your avatar picture, is that a Lab running on the beach?
That is lovely and how apt that she should be called Angel.Thank you @Chook. The picture is of my beloved Sadie, our golden retriever who went to Rainbow Bridge a few weeks ago. How lovely .. same with Bosley. He hasn't been eating either ... and as you know, for a lab or retriever, that's pretty much unheard of!That is lovely and how apt that she should be called Angel.
I have had experience of a mourning dog and its so sad because they can't tell you how they are feeling. When our old black Lab, George, passed away our girl, Millie (yellow Lab) pined so much that she stopped eating. The vet said either he could put her on antidepressants or - better - we could get her a new companion. And that's why we got our Labradoodle Archie. It was amazing, the evening he came to live with us she started eating again and they absolutely adore each other.
