Betty's deliver but I probably shouldn't tell you thatMust say I love Betty's too but thankfully too far from me for it to be a habit lol
Lunch was supposed to be hamburger Patti Diet Doctor but didn't get to make yesterday ( family around) so subbed in an omelette...with salad
I always went to Betty's when we were up that way. Love their curd tarts..... and they make the best proper cup of tea.
Breakfast: 2 egg omelette with two little slices of smoked salmon
Lunch: A few nuts - around 4 walnuts and 4 brazil nuts
Dinner: Roast garlic chicken, sour cream dip and baby chard leaves (raw) / cherry tomatoes / red onion / radishes
Snack / supper: One Montezuma truffle and - separately - 100g Alpro almond yoghurt
Anyone else ever get a longing for something they know they shouldn't eat? Ever since we walked past one of those ring doughnut stalls (at the seaside on Saturday) I've not been able to stop thinking about them. I can almost taste them. I even dreamed about them. Its strange really as I never was that keen on them when I did used to eat carbs.![]()
Low card rolls? Yes I know you mean low carb but it made me laugh because it reminded me of when my Hubby worked in Germany and one in their group was always broke (drunk most of his money). Anyway, one point he was so hard up that they noticed he kept collecting beermats from the pubs. He had enough left to purchase 2 kilos of radish and he had a jar of honey in the flat. Dinner for the next few days consisted of radishes in various forms and beermats and honey! I kid you not.Today I did my first 24 hour fast. It turned out to be more like 26 hours from yesterday evening to this evening with nothing but water. So all I had for dinner today was some home made low card rolls with home made low carb Nutella and a bowl of strawberries and cream for desert and some after dinner peanuts.
Breakfast: Two boiled eggs and a buttered Lidl protein roll cut in to soldiers
Lunch: Few nuts
Dinner: Mr C (who loves cooking) is creating a tapas extravaganza! There is going to be a chicken with sherry and peppers dish, lamb in Spanish spices dish (which includes ONE jersey royal new potato between the two of us), shell on prawns flash fried in butter with garlic and garlic (got the prawns in Lidl 4.99 for 400g - bargain) and an aubergine and peppers dish topped with Manchengo cheese. With a tomato and garlic dish, a green side salad, trio of olives and Lidl protein roll for dipping in the sauces.
Mr C is having two weeks holiday from work and its really bumped up my shopping bill.
For dessert / pudding / afters / sweet: fresh raspberries and/or Alpro coconut yoghurt and one of those absolutely gorgeous Montezuma truffles
Oh - and a glass of Rioja ... maybe two....![]()
I think courgette chips need to be deep fried to work. Trouble is then you need a tempura batter and I've never managed a low carb tempura. My sister has always been really good at courgette and aubergine chips but always in tempura - not greasy, crisp and delicious.B: none
L: baked salmon and salad with chilli mayo
D: Dietdoc burger with goats cheese, courgette 'chips' and salad with tomato mayo
Third time i've tried those courgette 'chips', and I've been disappointed three times. I would rather have stir fried courgette, onion and garlic. Less phaff and nicer flavour!
I'm fond of Rick Stein's version from his Food Heroes book. Wìll take a look though as he certainly lost a massive amount of weight.I rarely post my meals here anymore because... er ... well frankly they're quite repetitive most of the time.
Anyway, I just wanted to mention Tom Kerridge's Dopamine Diet book - low carbs all the way. I cooked his version of beef stroganof last evening and it was amazing.
Sirloin steak, beef consomme, onions, chestnut mushrooms, herbs & spices ... it's really, really good.
