2 hrs later bg 9.5 !
For lunch I had 1 small avocado 5 cherry tomatoes 3 slices of breaded ham and a small portion of mature cheddar

Yes, meters are very useful! You might find that it's the combination of relatively high carb foods that caused your breakfast spike rather than any one individual element. If they're things you really enjoy, it would be worth trying them individually alongside some lower carb options.
Agree with that. I had that problem yesterday when 1 Slice of Hovis low carb seeded was a step too far with my other breakfast items. It's fine on its own but nightmare with other foods and they were not particularly carby.Yes, meters are very useful! 5.9 and still falling. Taken a while but at least it's under 7.I seem to have had another festering bug for most of the day. After dinner last night I dropped to 6 but then instead of a slow fall it started to rise bed on 7.1. The rise continued with No usual 3am drop until I woke to a FBG of 8.4. Seriously? Felt a bit queasy, spent a lot of time around 8.9 and never been below 7 all day so far. There's still time though.
B. Boiled egg and Tassimo morning coffee and a dash of cream
L. Marigold Swiss bouillon
D. The last of yesterday's chicken Cordon blue, leftover cauliflower mash, sprouts and broccoli and 3 mushrooms.
At least I don't feel queasy now.
