Bloods a bit higher than usual this evening up to 6.2 usually about 5.5 after dinner - wondering if was the homemade tomato sauce as not something I’ve had since low carbing as not been able to have pasta.
Plus the chocolate, of course. It is the 4th macronutrient, and should not be skimped.
What a shame hey - I’ve been adding half a can into stock to do chilli once a week and then restricting amount Of sauce I had as it’s been for two of us and that was ok but used a whole can last night no stock and did eat lots of my half of the sauce - oh well you win some and lose some, a modification needs to be planned!Tomatoes do that to me. I’ve given up the bolognese sauce I was having with courgetti as I find it unbearably sweet. That one is made with tinned tomatoes (in juice, no sugar or sweetener) and tomato purée. Other things I make with fresh tomatoes are a bit better, but need to tweak a few recipes.

Ithank you I was fine after a small amount mixed with a stock on earlier experiments. I feel I just overdid the quantities of tomatoes and resulting sauce. I also puréed a fair few veg into the home made sauce so think that probably put carbs up and hence my bg but it wasn’t a big hike up from 5.3 to 6.2 it’s just I usually go up about 0.5 will try again with smaller quantities.Did you test? You may be fine with tinned tomatoes - I am, unless I eat silly amounts. So it is always worth testing to see.
