What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

And for today - bed 6.6 FBG 6 but DP only crept to 7.4 before turning downwards again.
B. I cannot shake my addiction to that DD no bread breakfast sandwich so I had it again. Find I am drizzling more hot sauce on it now. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Probably just a mug of Marigold Swiss bouillon.
D. DD Keto cheeseburger - no bun and wilted spinach.

B - 1 dairyfree cocoa

D - started off making a butternut squash, chilli an ginger soup bt when I etered it all into MFP the carb count was higher than I wanted (17g perserve) so I added some thai red currypaste and a can of coconut milk to make a thai style butternut aquash soup and 9g carbs a go. Very nice but now theres loads of it. Plan to have the remaining 7 portions over the next few days - some with cooked chicken added, some woth these https://www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Ocado-Gold-Exotic-Mushroom-Trio-Mix/73329011

Breakfast: McDonalds

Lunch: Eat as much as you like Chinese buffet.

Dinner: Stuff yourself as much as you like - much bigger Chinese buffet (opposite) til I drop dead (gorgeous)!

Snacks: McDonalds (again)

Laugh Out Loud!

Normal day today
Breakfast egg and mushrooms fried in butter
Lunch braised celery soup with I slice of buttered hi-lo protein bread
Dinner bean pasta bake (used 30 grams of bean pasta - 3.5 g of carb) followed by coffee and 2 100% cocoa buttons
Bloods a bit higher than usual this evening up to 6.2 usually about 5.5 after dinner - wondering if was the homemade tomato sauce as not something I’ve had since low carbing as not been able to have pasta. My first experiment with bean pasta last week was better for my bg but had carbonara sauce so low carb sauce.
Oh well fast day tomorrow so hope to get back to my new normal!

B: wasabi chicken mayo in a coconut wrap. I really enjoyed it, then my tum didn’t. Am assuming it was the wrap not the chicken. Although it might have been the wasabi.
L: a largish portion of smoked makerel. Lush. I drizzled it with pomegranate syrup (yes, syrup) and balsamic vinegar, in equal quantities. Rather like posh soused mackerel.
D: a v small portion of cold baked salmon with smoked chipotle mayo.
May have a lc hot choc later.

I’m enjoying the challenge of making a carnivorous diet varied and interesting. Plus the chocolate, of course. It is the 4th macronutrient, and should not be skimped.

Wednesday ...

Tomatoes do that to me. I’ve given up the bolognese sauce I was having with courgetti as I find it unbearably sweet. That one is made with tinned tomatoes (in juice, no sugar or sweetener) and tomato purée. Other things I make with fresh tomatoes are a bit better, but need to tweak a few recipes.

Catching up on yesterday. A fasting day but with a schedule that mixed things up a bit.

No breakfast.

Had a work meeting which went over lunch, but was then meeting friends in the evening at a venue where the food options were not great so went for a late lunch/very early dinner at Nando’s. My usual of 3 plain wings, plain chicken leg with salad and mayonnaise. So far so good.

Found I was hungry when I got home so ate a portion of chocolate chia pudding with cream and a bag of pork crunch. Seemed to trigger the munchies and ate a chunk of Montezuma’s Absolute Black chocolate with almonds.

Only 11 grams of carbs in the whole day, but am really needing to eat a lot the past few days. I am not gaining weight (in fact losing albeit very slowly) so guess my body just needs more for some reason.

What a shame hey - I’ve been adding half a can into stock to do chilli once a week and then restricting amount Of sauce I had as it’s been for two of us and that was ok but used a whole can last night no stock and did eat lots of my half of the sauce - oh well you win some and lose some, a modification needs to be planned!

Did you test? You may be fine with tinned tomatoes - I am, unless I eat silly amounts. So it is always worth testing to see. :)

Ithank you I was fine after a small amount mixed with a stock on earlier experiments. I feel I just overdid the quantities of tomatoes and resulting sauce. I also puréed a fair few veg into the home made sauce so think that probably put carbs up and hence my bg but it wasn’t a big hike up from 5.3 to 6.2 it’s just I usually go up about 0.5 will try again with smaller quantities.

Fast today just dinner although gave in to a bit of cheese around lunchtime - still it kept my bg low.
Dinner pork shoulder casserole with celeriac mash followed by 3 100% choc buttons and coffee with cream.
Hoping for a good Friday weigh in in the morning, also love Fridays as I can allow myself some alcohol - I try and lay off it on weekdays when I can - going out for a meal with friends tommorow low carb prosseco chilling and making low carb chocolate mousse in the morning. Eating at friends can be difficult so I’m pleased I’m in charge of the pud.

Hi all

Breakfast - none

Lunch - bag of pork crunch and small bar Coop 85% chocolate.

Dinner - M&S chicken souvlaki skewers, buttered cabbage and broccoli followed by chocolate chia pudding with cream.

@maglil55 I made some of the chocolate and avocado truffles. No 85% chocolate in Waitrose so used a combination of 70% and 90%. Didn’t like them! Could taste the avocado and didn’t think it mixed well with the chocolate. Did enjoy scraping off the warm chocolate mix from the side of the bowl I used to microwave the chocolate in though!
