@shelley262 and @Goonergal -- congrats on your control.
About three to four months ago, I ate very little and exercised intensively (about 1 hour a day burning approximately 800 calories), but didn't lose any weight at all. I believe I pushed my body into starvation metabolism (also, ketones were really high and my blood had started turning acidic). After I reduced my exercise a bit and started eating a bit more, I started losing body fat again.
Celebratory day so went for three small meals and a snack!
Breakfast one 97% pork sausage and one egg fried in butter
Lunch advocado and prawns with a few crackers made from slices of Lidl protein roll - wow they were lovely I sliced roll into 12 just and cooked in oven only needed three for lunch - so low carb about 1.5 ? Thank you @PerfectStorm - rest in tin for other meals would be good for packed lunch @Goonergal
Mid afternoon slice of birthday cake - used @Goonergal s recipe but used coconut oil in stead of olive oil - wow what a discovery felt so naughty but a 16th works out at 1 g of carb! So good to join in with cake and enjoyed by all a keeper....
Dinner pork casserole and cauliflower cheese with a couple of glasses of prosseco planning another piece of cake later!
Well there has to be feasting to balance out the fasting and it’s low carb!
More importantly eldest son seems to be enjoying his birthday.
Sounds good - not a problem in our house with boys and healthy appetites and they seem to be impressed by this nigella recipe- Nigella may be more of the influence than the low carb! Enjoy your experiments with smaller tins.Sounds like a great day of feasting! Glad you enjoyed the cake. I use a smaller tin and fewer ingredients than in the original recipe. I’ve bought some really small (and cute) springform tins from TK Maxx so I can experiment with making very small versions - at the moment I end up eating cake all week!
Hi Sue I think at times recently I’ve eaten less than I maybe needed -or wanted- as part of intermittent fasting - the idea being over past five months has been to eat the fat I already had on my body ie previous years overfeeding! My aim - now I can feel my bones again! - is to work at trying to get the balance right as my weight is now more normal there is less fat to fall back on. It is a work in progress for me just eating right amount to respond to genuine hunger but keeping my bgs in check and not putting the weight back on. Think it’s a bit of a tightrope to balance but I’m working on it!Everybody here seems to eat next to nothing....I certainlly don't although my appetite is much smaller and Im no longer scared of being hungry. Are you all full from what you eat? Am I just impatient?
