@ziggy_w and @Brunneria thanks for your coffee suggestions. The thought of giving up coffee is worse than no bread or pasta by far!
I do have a Nespresso machine, which I gave to no. 3 daughter but I dont think she uses it much so I might ask for it back and follow your suggestion first Ziggy. If that fails it’ll be the roast chicory, good back up plan @Brunneria Do you get it from Amazon or H&B? Don’t think I’ve seen it in Sainsburys.
Also thanks for the tortilla source Ziggy, I’ll give them a go.
We get ours from Amazon, on autodelivery, because it is pretty much a staple in the B household. Much cheaper than coffee too!
If you do get your nespresso machine back you can buy cheap but brilliant capsules from Aldi now that work out 17p per shot rather than 30+ for nespresso ones. I buy the espresso and the blue lungo decaff capsules from Aldi and I cant taste any difference and they work the same. Hope this works for you at least it would be a cheaper experiment!@ziggy_w and @Brunneria thanks for your coffee suggestions. The thought of giving up coffee is worse than no bread or pasta by far!

Adonis bars have long date and presume can be taken on holiday? Not sure about date on brownies but how could you resist a cake warm out of the oven! Enjoy whatever you chooseHi all, home now from a busy day at work and definitely on the countdown to my holiday.
Decisions, decisions, my low carb lemon cake is cooking but my Adonis bars and brownies have arrived I’m now spoilt for choice.
Breakfast today was chorizo crisps from M&S, an impulse buy as I usually make my own, with a marmite cheddar portion
Lunch was a cold roast chicken salad and 10grsms of almond and peanut butter flavoured popcorn
Dinner will be chicken curry with cauliflower rice and either lem on cake or a brownie, photos to follow of the cake, no other. Photos to share today as lunch was eaten rather quickly and I forgot to take a snap.
Hope tomorrow is a better day for you but for now enjoy your glass of wineHi all I’ve been so cold and hungry today - I was better when weather sunny I feel less hungry when it’s warm! Went to a cafe with only outdoor seating with friends earlyish this morning and got really cold needed my winter clothes which I’ve put away! Plus stressful afternoon with autistic son fairly common but felt it a bit more today. I put it down to the weather! I can’t afford to be lax with next hbaca1 looming!
Breakfast one rasher of bacon and egg fried in coconut oil
Lunch cheese and celery followed by small slice of coffee and walnut cake - hard work not having a second slice
Dinner beef casserole and cauli cheese followed by decaff coffee and 5 100% choc buttons just about to have a small glass of red wine for reward purposes plus it’s bg lowering medicinal qualities!
Hi @shelley262, the bars are good until next April, the brownies have a date of 01/05/2018 so will need to be eaten before I go away, that works out at one a day, think I can manage that hehe just wish I had waited before making my cakesAdonis bars have long date and presume can be taken on holiday? Was tempted to join team fast I was wondering if would help my bgs prior to hbaca1 but know it’s not realistic for me at the moment and I have found sometimes fasting has put my bgs up albeit temporarily so not risking it as fairly low at moment - however I will be cheering you on from the sidelines hope it goes really well good luck. You could have done with last weekends weather to help you.Hi all
Just eaten my last meal before joining the forum joint fasting effort - target 48 hours plus. Mutual support being provided here:
https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/the-fabulous-fasters-group-fast-april-2018.143634/
Ate a lot of fat today (135g) which will hopefully keep me going.
Lunch was a small tin of wild Alaskan salmon with mayonnaise, 1 boiled egg and a mini cheddar babybel.
Dinner was a brined pork chop with buttered cabbage greens followed by chocolate chia pudding with cream.
@shelley262 know what you mean about old weather and hunger. Let’s hope it warms up again soon.
@Rachox is our resident coconut porridge specialist sure she’ll post the link for you soon.what is coconut porridge? I struggle with low carb breakfast ideas.
Also are eggs carb free? They tend to make my bg rise.

Re the eggs no they are low carb and don’t put my bloods up however I have read other posts by type ones that protein puts their bloods up - could it be a protein effect? Proteins don’t generally put mine up thankfully.

Love the idea of your salami crisps @Brunneria must try them thank you1pm bacon and eggs
Then we had a bit of a problem emerge...
Turns out that my little online shopping order last night happened when i was a bit peckish.
Never a good idea.
So the delivery arrived, and really, it was like Xmas.
I have no memory of ordering half of it!
The fridge is now GROANING with cream cheese, various different sliced meats, choizo, salami, double cream, a strange cold omelette thing and 3 huge packs of ribs.
Fortunately we have some freezer room, so none of it will be wasted.
The best thing so far is the counter sliced ‘italian salami’ which i microwaved between layers of kitchen paper. 8 slices for 90 secs.
Oh my. Better than the best crisps ever. Better than Kettles. Better than scratchings. Even better than chorizo crisps.
There isn’t any left.
Then at 6pm some thin rib in bbq spices.
Great minds think alike, your menu sounds great today. I succumbed to the lemon cake and added a spoonful of cream, delicious. I offered one to my partner, one mouthful and the rest went in the bin, he’s not a fan obviously but at least he won’t scoff them all like he does with my low carb bread.Evening.
Thanks for the Aldi Nesspresso tip @shelley262 I had read about them on a different thread here a while ago, but had forgotten. Hope your evening with a glass of red is more relaxing than your day.
@Goonergal good luck with the 48hr fast I’ll be rooting for you.
@jayney27 the mini lemon cakes were a great idea, they look lovely and you have built in portion control. My lunch and dinner similar to yours today except I forgot the cauli rice for me - did ordinary rice for everyone else!
B: bacon scrambled eggs, 1/2 grilled tomato and 2 mushrooms
L: cold roast chicken with salad leaves, 2 cherry toms, 1/2 avocado and olive oil dressing.
1 scoop of Oppo hazelnut and choc ice cream.
Late afternoon 5 brazil nuts
D: DD keto garam masala chicken (I love this) with broccoli. I forgot the cauli rice til I was halfway through eating. V annoyed at myself cos I really like it.
No red wine in the house but there is a cold chablis so will have a glass in a bit.
I like the sound of your salami crisps, I often use salami or chorizo and bake them in the oven as I often fancy something crunchy, I will give your method a try.1pm bacon and eggs
