I don’t think that was the Lebanese place we went to - it was in Nelson st, Jericho near the house we stayed in but I should think the style of food would be typical. Hope you enjoy it.
Just recorded my 2 hr after first bite 6.2 so I’m happyFeeling poorly today, my sore throat has progressed and I now have a cold.
Breakfast was a cheese omelette cooked for me, so that was a lovely treat
Mid morning snack some salami crisps
Lunch was mackerel pate with cherry tomatoes and sliced peppers
Dinner out as a treat as I didn’t feel up to cooking, opted for carvery as I wanted comfort food, did allow myself to be tempted (blaming the cold for my moment of weakness) to 2 small potatoes, BG before meal 5.2 so will be interesting to see 2 hr reading.
I can do a small potato, (around 35g!) with no untoward effect!Just recorded my 2 hr after first bite 6.2 so I’m happy
It is basically corned beef crumbled into a frying pan, with eggs cracked into hollows in the beef, with grated cheese over the top, lid on until eggs cooked to your liking.
You can, of course, add any veg, seasonings and anything else you like.
It is a bit like shakshuka eggs, but with corned beef instead of tomato/veg.

Enjoy!
Haven’t been brave enough until tonight, won’t make a habit of it just yet but felt the need to have a little treat.I can do a small potato, (around 35g!) with no untoward effect!
@Goonergal hope the cold clears soon and bgs return to normal excellent levels. @DJC3 bgs ok while fasting thanks. As I understand it this is more about "draining the swamp" so more long term and needs to be regular. I am looking to do this every month if all goes well.Hi all. Still feeling under the weather. Aside from issues being explored by the doc, sore throat has turned into a cold. F
Joining this thread will bankrupt me. Just purchased 1 dehydrator, 1 sous vide kit an the babbity rabbit cackling pot gizmo.
What is the "babbity rabbit cackling pot gizmo."?
I am surprised at you.
It is an Instant Pot. Of course.
As I post just about to break my 72 hours fast. Last reading was bg 3.8 and ketones 2.9 so seems ok.
B: 3 X mugs Tea with double cream:
MMS: 1 mug coffee with vanilla and double cream
L: 2 X pint mug tea with double cream
MAS: Nothing
D: 7.00 pm 72 hr fast broken with homemade 100% chocolate bar with raspberries and 2 pint mugs tea; wait 30 mins to 1 hour - salami crisps with cream cheese (hoping I can find some love for these)
Oh, the dark chocolate with raspberries tastes amazing right now
OK I can see that the salami crisps could eventually work as canapes. For me they would need to be Waitrose salami or Chorizo with epoisses or some variant of coronation chicken/coronation egg mayo. Lidl also used to do a pleasant smoked turkey salami - anyone know if they still do? So, are we after the paprika Pringles vibe and has anyone made them in the dehydrator?
Thanks for that input. I had targeted the kale crisps along with other veggy crisps for the dehydrator. I can see the issue with salami but I am desperately trying to find some love for them outside of fasting for 3 days to get ravenous.I'd be interested to hear how your dehydrator experiment works, because it sounds like that's one you'll take for the team.I imagine they might work less well in the dehydrator, because what's actually happening in the microwave isn't dehydration. What comes out is oil, not water.
I know @Brunneria has mad very good kale crisps in the dehydrator. I have made kale crisps in the cauldron, sort of by mistake. I had cooked it in the usual way (for me) - 2 minutes on pressure, then release the pressure after about 2 minutes, then I lifted the steamer basket out of the pot and out of the heat/moisture, then got distracted by a phone call.
When I got back to it, the top layer were wonderful crisps, so I imagine if on taking the steamer basket out, I just spread the kale in a single layer to cool, the same would have been achieved.
It's good to experiment.

Don't think I meant to imply I felt obliged to love them, I can see how they should work I think the trick will be getting tjhe right salami and timing/method. I have never tried Oppo as I am a big fan of homemade ice cream with homegrown fruit. But as they say, your mileage may vary. I agree about chorizo, tend to get it into as many dishes as I can.I don't think there's any rule that says you have to love them. Personally, I love a good chorizo and will often use it to generate some oil and colout, by rendering it down, for doing a quick, hot stir fried cauli rice. It then takes on a slight smokey flavour and a hint of orange from the chorizo oil.
