Today I’ve come to Cornwall - I said hi to @jayney27 and @vanillapie as I drove past - did your ears burn
Glad to read you have arrived safely and are already enjoying yourself, such a shame the weather has turned though, it had been beautiful until today. Never mind I’m sure you will still have a lovely weekend.Evening all
@Goonergal the new GP sounds quite switched on re ketogenic diet. Glad your blood tests were ok
@shelley262 I hope your antibiotics and meds kick in soon so you start to feel better. I hadn’t heard about the high bg being good for ridding the body of viruses. It’s possibly the same reasoning as why we develop a high temp during infections - the viruses and bacteria cant tolerate it so it’s part of the body’s defense mechanism. How are you coping with looking after your son while being so poorly?

Breakfast was scrambled egg, smoked salmon and 1/4 avocado. Coffee and cream.
Lunch was supposed to be a DD keto roll filled with chicken, avocado and mayo but I forgot my carefully prepared packed lunch. I do hope my daughter ( the one who still lives at home) has it for her lunch tomorrow, although the avocado may not be so nice by then. What a waste.
Luckily I’d already packed some low carb snack for emergencies this week so had a pack of pork crunch and a PhD bar ( cookies and cream) which saved me from having to get something from Costa. Did buy an Americano with cream from Costa for the journey though.
Dinner - with youngest daughter, cod fillet fried in butter and olive oil with mucrowave style cauli cheese and a portobello mushroom stuffed with spinach and feta. Couple of glesses of dry white wine ( so far)
@vanillapie Those kebabs sound gorgeous!

I forgot to eat, then got ravenous while travelling, to did the 2x Maccies quarterpounders, with no buns or chips.
Then once home, Mr B wanted Bratwurst, but I could only face 1.
Oooh, oooh, oooooh. I might be inclined to give the chicken and chorizo kebabs a go, on the BBQ, then add some chunk of brie or camember cheese at pretty much the last minute.
MrB is a real BBQmeister. I think I'll lay down the challenge.
Dinner: 2/3 of a Pizza Express cook at home gluten free pizza (13.2g carbs)
I added some mushroom as it was just a Marguerita, the base was very acceptable, good for a lazy night cooking. Blood sugar was only up 0.1 2 hours post meal, so happy with thatWow that is a very reasonable carb count for a ready made pizza. May have to give this a go.
Welcome back it’s a difficult one to deal with but not always easy to avoid eating completely in situations like this. Always good to be back and in control again!Hi all, back home now so will start eating and testing tomorrow. No solid food today but I guess an almond milk latte from Starbucks would count. Genuinely beginning to wonder if I am becoming a little too picky about what I will eat. I am now really phased if I have not chosen all the ingredients myself and supervised the preparation. Basically I would rather fast for a day or 2 than eat food someone else has bought or cooked.
