What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

B - 2 bacon, bulletproof coffee
L - king prawn & cashew salad, 2 babybel
D - 2 sea bass fillets fried in butter
S - pork scratchings,

Had some real carb cravings today. I didn't succumb, but I really wanted some big savoury pastry thing - a pastie or sausage roll.
 
No breakfast.
Lunch: Demi baguette butter cheese and onion filler.
Dinner: egg salad with 2 slices of deli ham and 2 large cheese slices.
Snack: options hot chocolate
 
B: Full fat yogurt, coconut /flax bread & almond butter
S: Handful of olives
L: Courgette & kale soup with almond scones & hard boiled egg
D: Avocado & tuna salad, blueberries & cream
S: 2 squares 85% chocolate
 
Yesterday:
B: coffee with almond milk
S: some halloumi, cheese puffs
S: pecans
L/D: Subway salad: lettuce, red onion, green peppers, black olives, jalapeno, chicken tikka, cheese and mayo.
S: glass of wine
 
Yesterday (and will be exactly the same today!)

B: feta omelette
L: blueberry chia pud, redbush and vanilla tea
D: leftover saucy cannellini beans, 2 quorn sausages, brocolli, grated cheese
Snack: creamy decaf

Hoping to score a Lidl roll before tomorrow's Bake Off as it is the bread week :nailbiting:

I know the feeling.

Went into a Sainsburys last week, and I was feeling a bit peckish and there, right in front of me was a display of their special offers, containing a Ginsters Pasty for £ 1.00.

They should be prosecuted for doing that !!!!!!
 
Ah but you have come to right place then! This is the section for low carbers you see and for many, not all but many, low carbing helps immensly with normalising blood sugar.

Hi there. I try for 30g of carbs per day. Some folks are even stricter. Lots of folks go for somewhere between 50-70g. At the end of the day it's whatever works for you. Maybe start around the 50g mark and see how you go?

It all depends on where you are right now, what do you want to achieve and your personal circumstances and preferences.

Some people can eat about 100 a day, some others between 50-70, some choose to eat less than 30 or less than 20. It all varies from person to person.

I stay below 30-20grms a day but I have a lot of weight to lose.

It's very much up to you. I do very low carb and thus high fat and it suits me. I aim for normal BG at all times. Except for Sundays when I can have a piece of fried bread with breakfast, or fried potatoes and an treat in the afternoon or so.

Today I had bacon and eggs scrambled in butter with a tomato for lunch, I rarely eat breakfast, and a herring casserole with loads of vegetables and olive oil.

Snack - mini bag pork scratchings
L - bacon and Brie salad at our local tea shop
D - leftover crust less quiche with courgette noodles. Then goats milk vanilla ice cream with dark choc cream sauce. Bit of an indulgence, but I have pmt so I think it's allowed and the ice cream was only 5.5g carbs (weighed it out and everything!)

L: poached salmon, avocado, green salad with some black olives and some feta cheese
S: cheese puffs, coffee with lactofree
D: brie wrapped in chorizo slices and some black olives

S - a bit of stilton, some ardennes pate

I cooked kale crisps with the salmon. I flavoured them with some chinese spices...MISTAKE. They were horrible and got binned. My daughter liked hers, cos I sprinkled them with sugar a bit like the seaweed in a Chinese restaurant.
 
B - 4 scrambled eggs, 150g Greek yoghurt and few blueberries, filtered black coffee
L - 3 slices of ham, some spinach, watercress and pepper, half an avocado, 100g of Greek yoghurt
D - Pan fried chicken mixed with little ginger, garlic, pepper and parmesan cheese (delicious), served with broccoli and rest of spinach.

Ooo ooo ooo GeoffersTaylor, I serve my kale crisps with torn nori (seaweed) sheet and dried chilli flakes and salt.
A friend of mine with her dehydrator (showoff) dehydrates lemon then blitzes it in the grinder and adds a tiny bit of the lemon powder to her kale and it tastes 'gurt lush' .
