Those rollitos are one of the rare sunny uplands in shop bought food ready to eat food for the WOE
Almond butter is nice. Only discovered a few weeks ago in Tesco on a visit to the UK. I've been a big peanut butter fan since, well, let's say a long time ago. If I remember correctly the almond butter was significantly lower in carbs. Must try and find some here in Spain.
Dessert was cream, sliced strawberries topped with melted dark chocolate and crushed nuts. Ring a bell?
Yes they are! M&S food hall has quite a few good options in their deli section.
Yes, much lower carb. Ate a few peanuts at an event yesterday and they tasted very sweet.
Yum! Just written my review. Thanks for the reminder @Debandez
Today’s menu was:
Lunch - post lunch meeting in venue within walking distance of Five Guys = excuse for arriving early and indulging. Bunless cheeseburger with onion, tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise.
Dinner - 2 Waitrose free range Cumberland sausages. 2 rashers bacon followed by 25g Sainsbury’s 85% chocolate and a lazy dessert of clotted cream mixed with almond butter.
a chocless day today, to balance.
Spiders, here in the uk? You have given birth but a spider puts you off:***::***:It’s the spider season, that’s what it is, and they are everywhere. I can never enjoy September because of them.
Good luck tomorrow @DJC3 hope it goes well and you don’t have to wait too long for the results I’m hoping you’re pleasantly suprisedEvening everyone
High fbg again but decided to have a substantial breakfast as I was going to a funeral and from past experience most catered events are very carby so had
Scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and avocado. ( for a change)Coffee and cream.
Funeral was late morning so it was a lunchtime reception - finger sandwiches, mini cakes and cream teas. I nearly had a bowl of cream on its own but contented myself with a few cups of peppermint tea.
The chap who died was the consultant at the lab I worked at, he was only 61, recently retired and T2 diabetic but not well controlled - like many medical folk he didn’t take good care of himself and died of a heart attack. It brought home to me the importance of sticking to lchf and trying to get some control.
D: DD keto chicken casserol with broccoli.
Tomorrow is my HbA1c and lipid profile blood tests - not expecting great things as bg has been so high the last couple of weeks. MySugr numbers now climbing at a rate of knots. Whatever is causing it, I’ll just have to stick with the programme and ride it out I guess.
@xfieldok that pud sounds lovely, wonder where you got the idea?

Ridiculous I know - I’ve also done the ‘Friendly Spider’ course at London Zoo and actually managed to hold a tarantula afterwards but I’ve gradually got worse again.
Sorry, completely off topic - got carried away.
I guess it is only natural if one eats cupcakes and watches the GBBO - both just wrong on so many levelsRidiculous I know - I’ve also done the ‘Friendly Spider’ course at London Zoo and actually managed to hold a tarantula afterwards but I’ve gradually got worse again.

A friend of mine who lives in SE Asia insists on posting pics on Facebook of her hubby and sons eating tarantulas. Even dead on the plate they look scary.
Yes, but how many carbs each?A friend of mine who lives in SE Asia insists on posting pics on Facebook of her hubby and sons eating tarantulas. Even dead on the plate they look scary.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: cold sliced meat, salad leaves, 2 cherry tomatoes and small bag pot k scratchings followed by SF Jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.
Mid afternoon: Jaffa quake carb killa bar.
Dinner at Bella Italia: grilled chicken breast with garlic butter, mushrooms, side salad and tonight’s holiday treat 3 x battered onion rings (!) followed by strawberries and cream. 2 hours post meal 4.6 (5.1 before), so very pleased with that, our lodge is a good walk from the restaurants so I think that’s helping along with daily swimming
I'm with you on that.I loath them. I wish they would do their breeding outside. I cover windows and doors with oil of cloves, sprinkle bicarbonate about, have plug in things and the fighters still get in. Also have one of these sticks with the bristles so they can be captured and ejected at arms length. It’s the spider season, that’s what it is, and they are everywhere. I can never enjoy September because of them.
Me too! Anything Sandi Toksvig does is great with me - and I didn't like Noel Fielding initially, but they just seem to complement each other and gel so well! I'm not a big cake fan so I could watch that without being hungry but when they bake bread I want to eat it all!I'm a bake off fan as well. Cruelty to have showstoppers with chocolate in that heat. I rather like Noel Fielding and Sandie as the presenters. Mel & Sue were irritating me.
Bless you, maybe without realising you have been worrying about up coming tests and sad regarding the funeral, both will have a less than desired effect on your numbers, maybe. I hope all goes well and you soon get back into the groove.Evening everyone

Ok. I NEED this.Brekkie - low carb bread, peanut butter, tea
Mid morning - quick couple of cubes of cheese as I was peckish and I had to go to the bank for work and anticipated a long wait (I wasn't wrong ...)
Lunch - lo dough pepperoni pizza (yum!) Strawberries and double cream
Dinner - ranch steak with mixed tomatoes and rocket. Chocolate 'mousse' - more like ganache really, made with melted 85% choc and double creamView attachment 28355
