What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Made lamb burgers with tzatziki.
Mmmmmm! Used rosemary, garlic, salt and black pepper in the mince, with goatsmilk yog, cucumber and mint in .the tzatziki.

And this time i had the gumption to make enough burglars to fill 1/4 of a freezer drawer. :D

You put burglars in the freezer?!

The burgers sound amazing.

Sorry to be bearer of bad news but bananas not a good idea!they have 23g of carb per 100g so would be difficult to include-in a low carb day. I tend like many who stay low carb to stick to just a few berries at the most ideally with cream! Think they only aid the development of diabetes I used to eat one a day plus orange juice one of main reasons I ended up with a hbaca1 of 97!
If you do go ahead make sure you test so you can see the impact as we are all different but that’s a lot of carb and in form of fructose.
Thanks for that @shelley262 if it sounds too good to be true it probably is:(. Back to the strawberries and blueberries with double cream, yum!

You could also consider doing some baking with berries? If you’re keen on almonds I make clafoutis with a few berries and serve with cream it’s delicious happy to send recipe if you’d like?

I decided to make a lo dough pizza for dinner and a quiche for tomorrow’s lunch, I will take half with some sliced cucumber
@Goonergal I am just waiting for my nut butter and chocolate squares to set, they won’t be squares though as I have made them in my silicone flower tray.

Hello all.

Great blood sugar numbers today, @maglil55. So happy to read that you are doing better.

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. Y'all posted lots of great foods, makes my mouth water.

Today

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol.

Lunch: Three scrambled eggs with fried okra, tomatoes and Gruyere cheese. Three tablespoons of lupin hummus. A Greek yoghurt.

Snack: About 10g of 85% chocolate.

Dinner: A small piece of cold leftover lamb from yesterday. The last piece of carrot-zucchini cake.

@Goonergal , it was me that recommended the tuna melt! They are great aren’t they. Haven’t had them for a while, must make them again soon.
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch at Café Rouge: roast chicken, two tiny roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and a mouthful of Yorkshire pud.
Mid afternoon: mint chocolate Carb Killa bar.
Dinner: small mixed leaf salad with Edam cheese and pepperoni, followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola and a CCB bar.

Gosh! So many posts since I last looked yesterday, and so many great menus.
@Goonergal I’m glad you got some good CCBs finally. I must try the monkfuit. CCBs must be one of the most controversial and talked about foods on here!

I had a great day today - an old friend came round and we went to watch polo at the Guards Club in Windsor Great Park, such a lovely sunny day, and a great atmosphere.

Brunch was a bacon and egg sandwich using the 90 sec microwave bread toasted.

Couple of glasses of the champagne my friend had thoughtfully brought with her to the polo. Then a couple of coffees with cream and later a gin and soda in the members bar ( neither of us are members but she is good at blagging her way into places)

D: Back at home - Chicken pot pie ( DD recipe using fat head pizza dough as pastry) with broccoli and cavolo nero followed by cheese and biscuits ( without the biscuits) and a glass of red.

Later I had a chocolate nut square and realised I’ve forgotten to take metformin again today.

After my splurge yesterday I plan to go full Keto for the next few days at least. Today I will start with a fry up, meat only. For my second meal of the day may have braised beef with as little onion as I can get away with. Wish me luck!

@Brunneria @DCUKMod @Rachox any way that @shelley262 s booklet can be made a sticky post at the start of the low carb section of the forum?

It was sent to HO before the get together, so I'll firstly ask what, if anything, they are doing with it. Have all necessary links/acknowledgements been made to any recipes from websites?

Good luck @Guzzler - looking forward to seeing your menus on here

@Tori71 it’s in the recipe booklet file I’ve sent you in a message just click on envelopes icon to open your message box and you’ll find the message and file there hopefully.
It’s an easy recipe and I’m addicted to them!
Read your messages out of order! Found the recipe and it looks gorgeous. I defy anyone who says low carb eating is boring.
