What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Today, whilst undertaking a haul in ASDA, I noticed these: http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/Shop...ategory=Jelly&_fbrand=ASDA&_fhealth=Low_Sugar

When I have jelly, I tend to make one , rather than have the ready made pots, but these could be an alternative to the Hartley's 10 cal ones.

Oh no! Save money at Asda with 6g carbs at 47p per pot or save carbs with Hartleys 10cal at less than 1g carbs but 75p per pot?! (Though I get Hartleys from Tesco and they are usually on offer :))

Edit to add, Tesco’s current offer is 3 for £2 so 66p each

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: tuna mayo with cauliflower and broccoli salad followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: raspberry chia pudding and black coffee.
Dinner: Tesco cold Chinese style pork with cauliflower and broccoli salad, pork scratchings and coleslaw followed by Hartley’s SF 10 cal jelly (raspberry flavour at 0.3g carbs per pot @DCUKMod ;)) with cream and LC chocolate granola.

B: 2 egg omelette with lardons and cherry tomatoes
L: small salad with cold lardons, hard boiled egg, grated cheese, chopped walnuts and cherry tomatoes plus salad cream (dislike mayonnaise)
D: cod with butternut squash and a delicious cheese sauce (melted small amounts of Cornish butter, cheese and double cream)
10cal jelly, few strawberries and blueberries with double cream.

Day off today :D so out to lunch.

(No brekkie)

Mixed grill. Excellent gammon, sausages, fried egg but my goodness the steak was a tough as old boots! Think it was the toughest i have ever tried to saw into chunks. Took it home for the dogs, who loved it. Mr B had the onion rings, most of the sausages, and i left the veg and black pudding.

Surprised myself by getting peckish around 9pm, so had two curried chicken thighs.

Miserable weather! Having to cope with 2 bored mutts this evening, because it was too wet earlier.

Hi your menu sounds great - love the idea of your cheese sauce too great idea must give it a try

Evening everyone. A lot of weather about today everywhere by the sounds of it.
Another day of highish bgs for me
B: 50g smoked salmon 1/2 small avocado and a scrambled egg. Coffee & cream

Mid morning coffee and cream with friends at cafe Nero

No time for lunch

Mid afternoon coffee and cream with different friends at Costa ( I am single handedly keeping local coffee shops afloat)

Late afternoon 1 CCB and a couple of slices of salami while cooking

D: Fat head pizza

@shelley262 I’m glad 3 mins worked for the custards, your trifles sound superb, your mum is going to love them.

@Robbity I do hope you feel better soon, constant pain is really debilitating.

DCJ3 - Have you started a now pot or batch of strips of late that could be implicated in your increased blood scores?

(Oh boy, you're becoming an adventurous IPer!)

I’d like to blame the strips but I don’t really think they are to blame - they are well in date and have been stored in a cool dry cupboard. I need to put in a new order this week though so with any luck I’ll get a friendlier batch.

Still enjoying the IP and getting more confident as you said would happen. My daughter can’t believe I lugged it with me back to London from Cornwall - she was hoping to pinch it while I was gone I think. Ha!

Evening everyone. Did anyone get the incredible rain? We had about 1/2 hr of it ( obviously when I was out walking, so I got drenched) but warm and sunny since.

I’ve decided to try following DD 2 week menu plan to see if I can reverse the upward trend of my bgs. I must be doing something wrong but just can’t figure it out. MySugr increased estimated HbA1c by yet another 0.1 today.

Menu as follows-
First thing: tea with almond milk.
B: Americano with cream from Costa after my flu jab.

L: DD Quesillada (very nice) followed by Hartleys 10cal jelly

Couple more coffees with cream and teas with almond milk during the day.

D:Asian cabbage and mince stir fry - unusual but nice.

No rain here, but very high winds.

This afternoon, watching so European rugger, there was a real bang from the kitchen. A quick squint in the doorway didn't reveal anything, but on closer examination the wind had picked up a plant pot, including it's now going over begonia and hurled it into the outside door. The lower double glazed panel now has a less than pristine lower panel. The plant pot and contents are unscathed. I'm guessing the impact came from the base.

I guess we'll be calling someone on Monday to have that replaced.

Deep joy.

Dinner was rather delicious - leftover cottage pie. Why is it always even better second time around?

Good luck with the DD plan hope you enjoy it and get results. I’ve never followed a complete dd plan just a few recipes.

Hi all mix of wind and rain here but mainly wind talking of which @DCUKMod your experience sounds scary what a nuisance.
Breakfast sausage, bacon and egg
Lunch veggie soup
Dinner chicken curry and glass red wine followed by lc trifle.
Looking forward to family celebration time tomorrow doing a birthday roast lunch using my IP for four minute beef!

Another windy but warm day where I could still wear shorts and polo shirt so all good. Fitted 3 types of exercise and 3 meals around watching cricket and rugby. Successful on some level so hope y'all had bigly good days.

Breakfast: Tea - Exercise bike @ 7.10 - Tea; 2 sausages; mushrooms; 2 eggs; 2 x flaxseed crispbread
Dockey : Filter coffee (coming to the end of vanilla) with cream and inulin
Lunch : Avocado and Mackerel in olive oil salad with chia seeds and psyllium husk powder
Mid Afternoon: 75 min walk then Tea
Evening meal:; weights then Sous vide Ribs; Pesto mushrooms;

Evenin’
No breakfast.
Then a trundle to the wonderful butchers just down the road. They have a hot counter, and I saw some crackling. Ended up with a piece 6x6 inches for 50p. Delicious. Couldn’t eat it all, but then forgot all about food until 7pm. At that point I had some homemade chicken curry.

Also a low carb hot choc (small)

Beautiful day -25C and breezy! Really fabulous for October.
B. 2 cheese on HiLo toast. Black tea, black coffee.
1 hour walk followed by greasy spoon lunch. Fried egg, hash brown, mushrooms, tomatoes. More black coffee.
Snack. Mixed nuts
D. Chinese mushroom and cashew nut dish with stir fried leeks, courgette, cauliflower and spinach.
Greek yoghurt and 2 tinned apricots.
Now exhausting myself watching Strictly.

Hello all,

Wonderful October day here too. A bit breezy and 26 degrees. Spent the afternoon outside at a French tapas place. Had to hold on to the wine glass, so it wouldn't blow off the table.

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol. Half a DD keto roll with mayonnaise, gouda cheese and beef salami. Mixed lettuce with a homemade buttermilk-mayonnaise dressing and feta cheese.

Lunch: Nothing.

Early dinner (at the French tapas place): Eggplant rolls with a cream cheese-herb filling, rabbit fillet in tomato sauce, and half a serving of sweet potato fries with tomato aioli. Two and half glasses of wine. The sweet potato fries were heavenly and blood sugars barely moved (about 0.2 mmol higher after an hour, a bit more after two hours with a maximum peak of 5.7), the wine must have helped.

Later at home: A piece of Spanish hard cheese and a Wiener sausage.

@shelley262 -- have a lot of fun with your family tomorrow and enjoy the celebration.

Thank you - just thought that following a structure for a couple of weeks might take the stress out of it - it’s their 2 week menu plan, I haven’t signed up for anything ( but if it goes well I may do)

I’ll be interested to hear how your 4 minute beef turns out, and the trifles can’t fail to please, have a lovely day.
