I've been reading the Michael Morley Blood Sugar diet book (interesting and easy to read) and while I don't think I can go down to 800 calories every day as per the Newcastle diet which this book is based on, I am going to (try) to reduce my calories on work days but also combine it with keeping my carbs to under 25g. I think I'd go nuts if I had to do it 24/7 so the days I don't work I'll ignore calories and just keeping to my usual less than 25g of carbs. Hopefully I'll soon have a fat free pancreas and liver and go back to my normal low carbing.

Today:

Breakfast: Coffee with one tablespoon double cream and a teaspoon sugar free hazelnut syrup
Lunch: Cold roast chicken, veg. stir fry in coconut oil: baby courgettes, mangetout, sugar snaps, pak choi, broccoli and a bit of red pepper for colour.

Porridge Oats are pretty Low GI, and likely take longer to raise your BG's that other Carbs, and then often will remain slightly elevated longer as well.

But we all will have unique responses to different foods, which is why testing how you react is most important.

Hello everybody.

B. Raspberries with cream

L. M&S chicken, with redpepper dressing and pumpkin seeds salad pot. Snack size Brie.

D. Leek and Stilton soup with chia seed rolls. :) I've really enjoyed my food today.

@jojo broadie - I used this recipe posted by @Mongolia in another thread:

I make creamed cabbage with Savoy but don't see why it wouldn't work with red cabbage. Shred and boil cabbage. Fry sliced onion and diced bacon in some butter. Add some nuts of choice (I use sliced almonds) then the cabbage. Add some double cream. I did add a few dried cranberries when I made it for Christmas dinner. :hungry:

It was lovely.

Glad you all liked the cabbage @LinsT. I would never have called myself a cabbage fan either but could eat a plateful of it like this by itself :hungry:

Ok so day 2 of intermittent fasting. Also started taking bitter melon and cinnamon bark capsules today. Will let you know if anything exciting happens!
B: none
L: Poor choice on school lunch counter today. Dried up piece of salmon left over from yesterday, slice of chicken, rocket, coleslaw. Supplemented it with a BabyBel and half a snack pot of olives stuffed with almonds in an attempt to eat some fat (school lunches are of course very low fat!).
D: Lidl protein roll, avocado, fried eggs, bacon, sautéed mushrooms (no need to miss out on breakfast!); peanut butter mug cake, double cream

Anyone watching Trust Me I'm A Doctor? About sweeteners.

D - KFC - lots of KFC

S - Polish sausage & red wine

I properly overate yesterday!!

Sounds gorgeous!! Another way we (in this house) have cabbage a lot is cheesy cabbage. Just shred sweetheart or savoy cabbage in to long shreds and cook quite lightly. Drain well then stir in some double cream stir grated parmesan in to it. Very easy and very quick. :)

B: coffeencream
L: bacon, egg, 1 slice fried bread  and a dog walk
D: coleslaw, meatballs in tomato and onion with cheese on top, and green beans.
