What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Odd day. Went to bed on 7.8 FBG 8.2 and pre breakfast 8.1. No idea what caused it as apart from aching arms I don't feel unwell. Thankfully it has dropped to 6 now.
B. 2 rashers of crispy bacon, fried egg , mushroom and 3 cherry tomatoes. Tassimo morning coffee and a dash of cream
L. Slice of Bfree toasted with the fruity one pate. Cup of vegetable bouillon.
D. Diet Doctor burger with mushrooms , lettuce, tomato, mozzarella pearls and celeriac chips.

Lovely menu - but what's fruity one pate?

Hello
B. Black Forest fruits with cream

L. Bacon n egg

D. Roast pork, carrots, onions and gravy. Strawberries and Alpro vanilla icecream

Tea
B: Small banana & Greek yogurt, 2 small boiled eggs
L: Burgen bread ham & tomato butty, 12 grapes & Activia zero yogurt
4ish: a few pork scratchings
T: Gammon cooked in apple juice in the slow cooker, 4 Cornish new potatoes & fine beans. 2 glasses of Rioja Crianza
Tea throughout the day.

B: bacon and egg
L: none
D: lamb heart slow cooked in red wine with courgette and aubergine. The gf dumplings were inedible so i had a blob of Perfect World choc icecream, with cream on top. :D

Mr B reckons he can face the rest of the dumplings. Brave man.

BFast Apple, coconut oil power coffee
Snack Burgen bread and bacon sandwich
Dinner Burgen bread fish finger, lettuce and tomato sandwich :hungry:
Gluton free beer x2 may have another later :hungover: sliced carrot and hummus dip
Felt bood sugar going low mid day so had a glass of milk and one of my own home made almond flap jacks.

Breakfast: Another one of those individual crustless smoked salmon quiches I made

Lunch: Probably nothing - just not at all hungry on this Zero Carb

Dinner: Chicken thighs - roasted with some kind of spices on

Drinks: Coffee with cream for breakfast then sparkling mineral water for the rest of the day

Things seem to be returning to normal after yesterday's blip. Bed 6.2 FBG 6.4 and pre breakfast was 7.2.
B. 2 rashers of crispy bacon, 3 cherry tomatoes, 2 mushrooms , slice black pudding and a fried egg.
Also slice of that new Hovis multi seed low carb bread toasted. Pretty good. The high fibre count takes it to only 4.4 g net carbs. Tassimo morning coffee and a dash of cream.
L. Nothing
D. Couple of casserole lamb chops with green beans and broccoli. Cauliflower mash.
Will probably have 2 squares of Lindt 90%.

Thank you to @heh for alerting me the the new Hovis low carb bread. They have 3 versions , white would you believe, wholemeal and multi seed.
The white is 85 calories per slice, 11.6 g carbs 5.1g fibre. Wholemeal also 85 calories 9.8g carbs and 5.2g fibre. Seeded is 100 calories but 9.9g carbs and 5.5 g fibre.
Seems we are being well catered for in the bread lines what with these 3, Lidl high protein rolls and Tesco high protein bread and Bfree that I discovered at Sainsbury's which is GF and wheat free and doesn't taste like cardboard!

Think you need to be careful in counting net carbs as different countries show different things in nutritional data. In the USA and many other countries, the carb count shown in nutritional data is total carbs and the fibre grams need to be deducted to get the net carb figure. In the UK and most other European countries however, the carb count shown in the nutrition data is already a net carbs figure. Why countries cant get it together to do thing as basic as nutritional data recording in a consistent way baffles me, but there you go!

B - a few (5) smoked almonds,
L - oomi noodles with watercress, 1/2 avocado and 1 tsp rapeseed oil
D - Blue cheese with 1/2 avocado and some cucumber followed by 50g raspberries, 2 tbsp single cream, 3 pecan nuts
Drinks - 2x Nespresso with cream

Tea
B: 2 burgen slices toasted with 2 poached eggs
L: Home cooked gammon with roast veg cous cous, tomato & beetroot
5ish: 3 plums
T: Hunters chicken & wholewheat pasta
Tea throughout the day
G & T zero
Glass of red

B: none
L: gluten free lasagna again. Indigestion again. :( not sure whether to give up on the GF pasta or whether to use far less. I made it in a loaf tin, and it would be easy to make it with more layers in one end (for him) and only one layer at the other end (for me)
D: lamb and veg stew again. And Perfect World choc icecream, again. :D

I've queried it with Hovis. It had next to no effect on my BG though.

Hi all.

Checking back in after my 3 week holiday - had thought I would post from time to time while away, but obviously not!

Today:

Breakfast - none

Lunch - none. Accidentally started skipping lunch most days from the second week of my holiday - got a gippy tummy so didn't eat the rest of that day. Was flying the next day and planned to have lunch on arrival, was delayed and ended up waiting for dinner. Then just found I wasn't so hungry (maybe the heat?) so only ate lunch if hungry, which wasn't often. Will see what happens when I go back to work tomorrow (have packed a lunch just in case).

Dinner - Seabass fillet fried in butter with lemon juice, broccoli, 2 squares Lindt 90%

And while I was away, I discovered this wonderful snack. It's an American product, but bought it at Starbucks in Toronto airport. Made only from cheese, crunchy and needs no refrigeration. Looking for a UK source - delicious:
