What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Hi, low carb day @shelley262 and really nice food so winner all round
B omelette with ham, tomato and spring onion, coffee with cream
L lettuce, tomato, radish, spring onion and ham drizzled with mango and chilli dressing, 2 slices of buttered almond bread
Half a peanut phd bar
D halloumi fries, 2 fried eggs, almond bread toasted spread with butter, zucchini lemon cake and cream
@jayney27 Your image of the bread looks tempting. Does it have the almond tang and could I have a link to the recipe please? Thanks

Evening all
First of all, hearty congrats @ianpspurs I’m glad everyone is doing well.
@shelley262 good luck with your family situation this week, a lot of work for you but hopefully good for all in the long run.

I went to the local hospital to have a ‘Lifecard’ fitted today - one of those 24hr heart monitors. I felt sorry for the technician having to deal with all the sweaty bodies, but I’ll feel even sorrier for her tomorrow - I’m not allowed to shower or bathe for 24 hrs! Typical that I’d have it done on the hottest day of the year!

B: fluffy omelette with grated cheddar. Coffee and cream.

L: avocado and M&S prawn cocktail. Lazy mousse with 3 HC buttons, almond butter and clotted cream.

D: Poached salmon, the rest of the prawn cocktail and salad which included a gorgeous tomato from the garden, plus a few cauli and brocolli florets. I liked the fact that it took longer to eat than usual as there is more crunching involved.
1 square Lindt 90% choc. Decaff coffee and cream.

Lots of water and tea with almond milk throughout the day.

Poor you no shower for 24 hours I’m planning on this evening and morning! Hope results good though.
My purple tomatoes are not quite ready yet but they are progressing think they will be a bit earlier than normal. Not done purple before just red, orange and green,

Thanks @jayney27 I will add it to Mrs Ps appraisal targets.
Edit: All was going well until I saw coconut oil - would it make a difference to swap it?
Had a quick search on the tinternet and it seems you can swap coconut oil with any butter, oil or fat of your choice.

I haven’t done purple either, I’ll be interested to see if they’re as sweet as the others. We always seem to have quite a few green. ( and I hate green tomato chutney)

Thanks for the butter reassurance @shelley262 We have not grown purple tomatoes but black are really good and yellow teardrop are really prolific and taste wonderful. I absolutely adore tomatoes and was bereft on first reading Dr Bernstein but gambled and seems not too bad so far. Tomato and marmite on rye bread was my idea of perfection,

Breakfast - sourdough toast and butter, cup (bucket) of tea

Lunch - tinned sardines in chilli oil mashed up on fingers of lo dough (baked for 5 mins in the oven) and side salad, jelly

I did treat myself to a Solero this afternoon - I repotted a tree and felt really overheated afterwards so I sat with my feet in a bowl of water and ate an ice lolly

Dinner - chicken wings and salad - then more chicken as I was still hungry. Strawberries and double cream with some cacao nibs sprinkled on.

I'm nowhere near as hungry as I expected to be on low carb as I was convinced that only stodge would fill me up!

Tomorrow's plans include chocolate mousse and chia raspberry jam

Hi all

@ianpspurs congratulations on the new granddaughter. @shelley262 hope all goes well with your son and your mum.

Very late eating today - work leaving do and we ditched the booked restaurant as it was just too hot. Settled for a pub instead.

Breakfast - none

Lunch - 1 boiled egg, Waitrose wild Alaskan salmon with mayonnaise, 1 mini babybel Gouda, 1 Ghirardelli 92% square and 75g almonds

Dinner - pub had brined and roasted chicken on offer so went for that with a side of spinach and garlic mayonnaise. BG only rose 0.2mmols so no hidden ingredients. Just had 25g Sainsbury’s 85% chocolate as a belated dessert.

This weather is making me very sleepy - eyes practically closed as I type!

Couple of days to catch up on. Bed Tuesday 5.6 FBG 6.2. No Aqua today. No 2 managed to redeem himself enough for the circus. Regrettably it didn't last.
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Nothing just a lot of water.
D. Couple of mini Baby bels, Oomi noodles with bolognese and parmesan which Hubby had been making while I braved the circus (we made it to the end) and Halo Top - still toasted coconut.
Circus was actually good - lots of very good acrobats.
Today - back to Holiday Club and another outing day. This time I volunteered to go along really hot day, 4 adults , 20 children? Hubby thought I'd gone mad. In the words of Baldrick I had a cunning plan. No 2 is highly intelligent so when he got in the car I handed him a little box with 10 pennies in it and his name on it. Explained to him that anything naughty, cheeky, whatever (I did list loads) I would take a penny away. Good behaviour though could win them back. Get to the end of the day with 10 pennies in the box you get a well done rosette in the diary (diary also lists the days wins and losses). Get 5 rosettes in a row I will give him £1 which he can choose to save or spend. Has to be in a row though. One bad day starts you again. Each day starts with 10 pennies so it's his decision whether he has these pennies at the end of the day. What a difference! He tested me out about 10am and lost 2 very quickly after that though he was excellent and won them back. He's now guarding his pennies. Fingers crossed I've cracked him.
Bed 5.6 FBG 5.8
B. Nipped back before going back for the trip. Slice GF black pudding, fried egg, 1/2 Mattesons smoked sausage. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Black coffee lots of water
D. Tesco Prawn cocktail, 2 mini Baby bel, Halo Top. It's too flaming hot for food.
Trip was to Dynamic Earth. Been there 4 times but this is the first time I've got round everything and they actually paid attention.

I love reading your posts your tales are always so entertaining, sounds like you may have found the magic needed to promote good behaviour, well done.

Many congratulations @ianpspurs on the arrival of your granddaughter. That's a big girl although not as big as a friend's that weighed in at 13 lbs 6 ozs. I can sense all the ladies going "ouch".
