What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Lunch today is the latest in my series of 'what lo-dough is really good for' - a really messy, overstuffed BLT!

Because lo-dough has a spongy texture it's best if it's moistened with something (like gallons of real mayo ) and it was just lovely. I also know I won't be hungry in an hours time because it's so filling 20180909_130520.jpg

I give it a little griddle for wraps like this. Might be psychological but the chargrill lines help (and gallons of mayo).

@maglil55 Argentinian steak house - Yum
.

It is indeed Yum. Loads of things I can eat. Hubby calls me a woose because I won't have a 14oz rib eye. Who on earth can eat a 14 oz rib eye???
The kebabs are amazing. They have this metal contraption and the kebabs hang from it 20180909_170517~2.jpg

This is half the kebab. It's a bit like a swing and you pull it off a bit at a time. It's entertaining !

Their sauces are amazing too.

Having indulged myself a few days ago in an airfryer, dehydrator thingamybob, this afternoon, I dry roasted some cashew nuts with chilly, lime and salt. Very yumm-tastic in 4 minutes.

I don't eat too many nuts of any sort (or my relationship with the small room deepens), but this has promise from a control of coating, from a GF perspective. My OH liked them too, but asked if he could have these: https://www.glueandglitter.com/2016/03/07/bacon-cashews/

He's not quite wholly embracing this LC business ;) .

Bed 5.2 FBG was also 5.2. No jumps today so the Tia Maria has left the building! Swimming With The grandsons then we're going out again with the in laws.
I'm currently a bit shocked at that million pound drop that 2 people could seriously think that Elizabeth I was potentially the first monarch to be photographed. That's up there with the Diddy who thought British Airways was the first travel company founded in 1841?? Yeah loads of 747's about then.
B. Stuck with the slice of Tesco high protein bread with ham this time and cheese savoury. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Nothing at swimming and just relaxing before I go get ready.
D. Heading to the Thai tonight. I know I will have more than a few dry white wines. I take my own cauliflower rice with me which they stir fry for me. It's a picking meal but I know I'll have some of the spiced wings and ribs and a bit more of the choo chee prawns which is the huge prawns in Thai red curry. Also a bit of the beef with green pepper and green chilli.

I suspect I'll succumb to a special coffee with brandy maybe. I am telling myself "stay away from Tia maria" - and Thai rum too for that matter! Firewater!
.

Hi ziggy - I've just updated. I had a self inflicted jump but as it was alcohol inflicted I've returned to normal.
I know what you mean about clothes. I was picking up some bits and bobs and bought my "usual" size only to have to take them back and drop 2 sizes. My mind still didn't see myself as thinner even although I know I've lost a fair bit weight. I think the trouble is I still have a bit to go so it doesn't register. As least it didn't until we were out on Friday.
I usually avoid photos but there was one taken with Hubby and sister in law and that's when it dawned I am a lot thinner - Still a bit to go but its the first time I've been conscious of the difference. Still at least I can invest in some smaller clothes now!
I agree about size to buy, I have done the same recently, I think it takes seeing a photo for the loss to register.

Hi, trip back to Devon completed so home safe and sound.
No breakfast today just coffee with cream x2
L was a pit stop at a service station so had a bun less burger
Not sure about dinner, can’t decide between lo dough pizza or quiche or omelette

Almost any man I know but it would limit the main course options:angelic:
Mine couldn't ! Which is why I find it objectionable that he calls me a woose.

He never has a starter and he had one of these kebabs on the swing.

B. 2 egg fine herbe omelette, black tea, black coffee.
4 mile walk, lunch in cafe. Homous, falafel, flatbread, lots of green salad, tomato.
D. Gazpacho. Third Sainsbury's crustless mozzarella quiche with stir fried vege.

Hope you all had a good day. Absent the wind, today would have been warm but second week of Sept so what can one expect? Menu today had food I like and now fitbit have fixed the food database macros look ok, although I think there was too much sat fat. I never really liked lamb but Mrs P does and it is probably the one food she likes that in 35 years together I will eat. Doesn't mean she never has her favourites just that I won't eat any of it.
Breakfast: 3 pints tea with almond milk -
Mid morning snack: Coffee with 2 tsps inulin, cream and butterscotch syrup. Don’t think I like the taste of coffee with how much I mask it ;
Lunch:Schneider Brot Protein bread sandwich with 60 gms very strong cheese totally my comfort zone; 2 pints tea
Afternoon snack: Water
Evening meal : Lamb shoulder; h/g curly kale; broccoli; roast veg and garlic; gravy - knorr beef stock concentrate with cauliflower and psyllium husk powder pulverised in Nutribullet

Evening all, hope you enjoyed the weekend

Breakfast - two slices Hi-Lo bread with 'teethmark' butter
Lunch - Five rollitos with salad. Strawberries and extra thick double cream
Dinner - Roast garlic chicken, roasted med veg and a small corn on the cob. 25gm mini bar of 85% chocolate.
Supper - Still having a think...

Bought the rollitos on Saturday as @Goonergal kept mentioning them. They are awesome, so thanks for the inspiration. Can see me living on these!

Going to try making the Hemsley & Hemsley banana bread tomorrow, substituting the maple syrup with erythritol. Read conflicting things about bananas, a few stating they aid diabetes but they are obviously very sugary. Any ideas??

Sorry to be bearer of bad news but bananas not a good idea!they have 23g of carb per 100g so would be difficult to include-in a low carb day. I tend like many who stay low carb to stick to just a few berries at the most ideally with cream! Think they only aid the development of diabetes I used to eat one a day plus orange juice one of main reasons I ended up with a hbaca1 of 97!
If you do go ahead make sure you test so you can see the impact as we are all different but that’s a lot of carb and in form of fructose.

Well, the monkfruit has it. Thanks @maglil55

Latest attempt at caramel successful and much improved CCBs (yesterday’s have been consigned to the bin after today’s tasting confirmed they were terrible). New ones are so rich I’ve had to chop them in half. Would thicken the caramel a bit more next time.

Second batch of chocolate almond squares yielded 25 pieces vs yesterday’s 15. Same ingredients, same quantities, same baking tray. Also much saltier....

@ianpspurs ended up very hot here. Mild enough for me to venture to the swimming pool in flip flops at 8am, warm enough for shorts and t-shirt for Waitrose visit and full on hot and sunny for post lunch walk.

Hope good Sunday had by all
Breakfast Waitrose 1 pork sausage, bacon and egg plus a piece of lodough eggy bread
Lunch tin mackerel in olive oil with ACV and lc seeded crispbreads
Dinner chicken, braised celery and cauliflower cheese and glass of red wine followed by raspberry clafoutis with yoghurt.

How much monkfruit sweetener did you use @Goonergal ? I may need to try it it’s been in my shopping basket a few times but never got to checkout!

Hi. I used 60g to 120g butter. Was using 100g of Lindt 90% and 50g of 85% chocolate from the US, so mindful of sweetness. Just about perfect. Used 120g flaxseed (might even go down to 100g next time), 80ml double cream and added some chopped almonds and macadamias.

Editing to say it was the golden version of the monkfruit sweetener.

Made lamb burgers with tzatziki.
Mmmmmm! Used rosemary, garlic, salt and black pepper in the mince, with goatsmilk yog, cucumber and mint in .the tzatziki.

And this time i had the gumption to make enough burglars to fill 1/4 of a freezer drawer. :D

We are out to dinner tomorrow, and it will either be steak or 100% beef burger. The difficult thing will be resisting the onion rings. They are those huge, beer battered, heavenly ones. Made PROPERLY, on the spot. And this place adds coriander seeds to the batter, which is sublime. Double whammy though, gluten in the batter, and onion in the rings...
The obvious thing is to smile sweetly and say ‘no onion rings for me, thank you.’
But somehow it is incredibly difficult to get the words out. ;)

Super duper thanks for this I may get some but also use some inulin with the flaxseed a la @ianpspurs maybe 100g flaxseed and 20 of inulin will give it a spin thank you
