Evening all. Finally achieved my dream of playing for an official Arsenal team today. @ianpspurs look away from the pics.

Pre-match meal was 2 Waitrose free range Cumberland sausages and 2 fried eggs

Post match meal was a small mixed grill at a Turkish cafe near the Emirates. Assorted shish/kofte cubes, 2 chicken wings, 1 lamb cutlet.

Still hungry 2 hours later and BG had gone down so made a version of lazy mousse - mixed some M&S whipped creamy cheese with double cream and a teaspoon of Lidl cocoa powder. Pretty good.
Amazing experience bet you loved every minute :)

OK, look away now - total carb fest!

Breakfast - Hi-lo toast and butter
Lunch - Roast beef, yorkshire pudding, cabbage, carrots, roast potato, gravy. Two blackberry and almond martinis.

Above was our family meal we have at a really nice restaurant once a year, it's instead of buying birthday presents for each other. Actually doesn't look too bad now I've typed it, and seems to be under or around my carb limit. As I eat well under this most days I may just get away with it!!! Also, hardly ever drink :angelic: so this was a treat!

It’s about balancing real life with the choices you make for the rest of your life, an occasional treat will not do any harm and I think it helps to keep us on track. I’m sure you enjoyed the company and the occasion and that’s what’s important x

OHs brother and us sorted out his loft and lots of boxes are now heading for our loft! Planning to get them up there tomorrow. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

You have my sympathies - I’ve been tackling our loft for 2 days and have only got 1/4 through it. I’ve absolutely no idea why we put half the stuff up there in the first place, and why have I hung onto 6 china tea sets? I only ever use a mug.

Hello all.

@DJC3 and @maglil55 -- Great blood sugars. So happy for both of you.

Woke up to somewhat higher blood sugars, so have decided to cut down a bit on the food today.

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol.

Late lunch: A bit of chicken livers with a pastis-creme sauce with tarragon. A small serving of the boeuf bourguignon from yesterday. A small piece of low-carb carrot cake.

Dinner: Lamb's lettuce with a mustard-lime dressing and feta cheese. Half a DD keto roll with liver pate. Half a glass of red wine.

Blood sugars in the evening much more reasonable.

Next week will be busy again, so glad I have prepared lots of food this weekend.

@maglil55 - Please tell me you have low carbified this one? I can't think of the last time I had a pudding, but that appealed.

This evening I have made MrB an individual rhubarb crumble, with probably the last of this year's rhubarb. In this hacienda that's like giving up one's last Rolo. :wideyed:
I assume we're talking about the chocolate pear cake? Yes it has been low carbed.

www.diabeticgoodbaking.com/2014/12/december-has-arrived-incredibly.html?m=1

I used 85% chocolate. Also they're correct that it is a very dense cake so I used my normal trick of separating the eggs, whisking the whites to stiff peaks and folding the whites in carefully at The end to get some lightness into it.

I've also made a chocolate topping for it before with melted 85% , some cream to loosen it and a hint of mint.

That web site also has the fabby Black Forest Gateax which I adjust as well by soaking the black cherries in kirsch and dark chocolate decoration and I use the whisked sponge method as always. Also there's a really good chocolate and coconut cake.

It's one part of the house I can feel happy with. We has to clear ours for new insulation and I've kept it clear apart from suitcases and Christmas decorations.

Sorry, Maglil, I should have added a link: https://www.asdagoodliving.co.uk/food/recipes/hidden-pear-loaf-cake

I sort of happened upon it when looking for banana bread to use up a couple of over-ripe bananas MrB hadn't got around to munching.

He now has a stash of banana bread muffins - muffins because they're easy to defrost in single portions.

That is what I aspire to. I’m envious.
I think you should post a photo of your loft so I can pin it up as a reminder of what it should be like.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: roast chicken, mixed veggies with one tiny roast potato followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.
Mid afternoon: peach chia pudding and black coffee.
Tea at ILs: cold meat and cheese with salad followed by my Sunday treat of one Jaffa cake :)

That looks doable - doesn't mention keto or IP anywhere. Pity I didn't see it before I fed the chickens and compost heap most of the pears from both trees. I did take bites from some along the way and they seemed exceptionally sweet this year. Think we do have some we bottled last year.

Bed 3.7 FBG 4.3. Was going to eat something around 5am as I felt 'off' and when I tested my BGs were 2.7. Had a drink of water, moved about and they came up again. I was going to have a very strict DD week but decided I'd better eat a breakfast as BGs were dropping again.
B. 3 Tesco GF pork chipolatos, 4 Santini tomatoes, 1 mushrooms, 4 rashers crispy streaky bacon, 1 fried egg. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream. That should do the trick!
L. Nothing
D. Leftover roast chicken, celeriac dauphinoise and tenderstem broccoli. Wilted spinach.

Will see how BGs go today as there is always Halo Top and Grenade Bars!
Edited - add a Grenade Bar and 2 bits 90% which got me to 5.6 but it's going down again. Weird.
