What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

@Goonergal it’s v brave of you to visit Ikea at the weekend, did you buy anything?

Few bits and pieces. A new one has opened in Greenwich. Should have known it would be busy on a wet day, even going at opening time, but needed some storage boxes to put stuff away while my place is decorated in early April - need to have got rid of some surplus furniture by then too, so lots of sorting to be done in the next couple of weeks. Also got some cushions and covers for my new sofa, some of which need to go back as weren’t quite right. Will go back one night in the week as should be quieter.

Wanted to get some of their delicious smoked salmon too, but that branch doesn’t stock the one I wanted.

Hope your cold clears up soon.

Hi all
@Goonergal think slow cookers vary on time taken maybe more liquid slows it down? It tends to take a day for mine. As long as it tasted good!
Hungry day today think my body is trying to get back on a level with my weight but enjoyed being able to indulge without worry on a cold grey wet day.
Breakfast one lc sausage and egg
Lunch sardines in olive oil, last four lc seeded crispbreads ( need to make more - all supplies eaten!) followed by a fair few mixed nuts and 100% hc choc buttons
Dinner steak, a few onions and half a tomato served with mushroom sauce and a glass red wine followed by chocolate chia pudding and cream and just now decaff coffee and 6 chocolate 100% buttons.

Think it might be due to the amount of food not being enough for the size of cooker - says it should be two thirds full and it definitely wasn’t that full! Only a small cooker though but maybe I need an even smaller one. Did taste good.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: liver and bacon with mixed veg followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.
Mid afternoon: white chocolate phd bar and black coffee.
Tea at ILs: cold meat, cheese and salad buffet followed by one Jaffa cake!

Evening folks. I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself, after feeling increasingly off colour today. I thought I had a flare of IBS this morning. Then a few hours later the lethargy, a woolly head and clammyness set in. I'm pretty sure something is working on me. I had so much planned for today, but didn't achieve much at all. Just hope I feel better tomorrow.

Breakfast: Toasted chia and almond bread. One slice with butter and marmite, one with LC lemon curd. Coffee & cream
Mid morning: Almond milk cappuccino
Lunch: Cheese, sliced turkey, pickled onions, cucumber, fennel, chicory. Greek yoghurt with lemon curd.
Dinner: Slow cooked beef short rib (snap @Goonergal, although I did mine in the oven), baked cauliflower and leek cheesy mash, Savoy cabbage. Decaf coffee & cream.

Thankfully my stomach is more settled than earlier, but feeling really wiped out! :(

Evening all - lots of lovely sounding food on here over the weekend. We spent the time with my sisters in Lancaster and I was expecting a bad weekend but in the end I was quite good.

Yesterday breakfast - usual peanut & chocolate protein bar with cup of tea
Lunch - 2 babybels and a packet of fridge raiders chicken bites (best I could find at the motorway services)
Dinner - chicken breast with salad and mayo - I did later on have one very small slice of margherita pizza - the gin we were drinking had sent my BG down to 3.1 and so I wanted to raise it a bit before bed. Woke to a 4.7 this morning so I was happy with that

Today - no breakfast
Lunch at a Toby carvery so I had lamb, beef, 2 tiny roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, green beans, cabbage and gravy followed by a square of green & blacks mint chocolate
Late afternoon - a cappuccino - the drive home felt long and tiring and needed a caffeine hit!
Not long got back and sorted and couldn’t be bothered to Cook properly so just had a tin of salmon, some mature cheddar, a babybel, cucumber & 4 cherry tomatoes

loading the lorry day!
xbx 16
Breakfast: tea, 25g no grain granola, 30g nutty granola, 50ml milk, wickedly naughty teaspoon of honey (it needs using up, am not packing a jar with less than 1cm contents) 80g strawberries.
Planned on testing 1, 2, 3 and 4 hourly, but only made the one hour target. Pleasantly surprised to find NO rise at all.
Less happy surprise, developed a wobbly tummy, :meh:felt quite unwell for several hours, so no lunch. just a cup of ginger tea
Short sleep.
Later had 2 glasses chardonnay, Settled the stomach nicely :D.
Washing machine and tumble dryer disgorged quantity of water ofc, now have pile of wet mucky towels and have to handwash them. Along with the sheets that didnt get washed or dried.
Lorry loading done for the day, still a worryingly large amount to load tomorrow.
More packing, filled another four large boxes, dragged stuff out of corners and cupboards. Added them to the pile, along with ironing board, and microwave.
Dinner: beef casserole, tiny baked potato and few peas. Yoghurt and berries, with honey again. Ginger tea.

Lunch yesterday: Ham and egg salad.
Dinner: Marinated (peri peri) chicken drumsticks, couple of Iron Jack beers to wash them down with.
Breakfast today: Usual omelette, bacon, tomato,

Day two of buffet grazing - this time at a Christening - similar to an engagement party but small children charging about and balloons.
Breakfast; late up due to being at an engagement party last night and in charge of wine tasting; half a 90 sec microwave bread thing with cheese and blasted under the grill.
Lunch; the amazingly predictable and carb ridden after the christening buffet; salad, cheese, the inside scrapings of a quiche of some description. Not a morsel of chicken or anything that resembled something that had been alive in sight - oh well.
Dinner; bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tinned tomatoes and the other half of that 90 sec microwave bread thing. Hooray!

OH WOW
Greetings CMT recipe circle. Having saved the low carb lemon curd recipe it reminded me of a Nigella Lawson dessert which I made a while ago at Christmas which I've always considered very adaptable. So adapt it I have and added it to the recipes. It requires the sugar free lemon curd and very low carb meringue nests (I've added a recipe for them too).
The rest is in the low carb lemon Pavlova recipe which I've adapted from NL's recipe. It is an assemble last minute job but you get everything ready in advance. Dont assemble until you are ready - I tried that once!
this sounds impossibly delicious

Evenin’ All,

B: 3 sausages
L: chicken noodle soup (chicken broth with oomi noodles and garlic pickle stirred in :wacky:
D: defrosted lamb steaks

Had a lovely day. Lie in. Rainy afternoon on the sofa with dogs. Muddling round the house doing a bit of tidying and water changes and baking Mr B some Paleo Brot. I was rather disapponted with the last loaf (6 months ago), but will try it again. Well, one slice at least. Mr B is the Bread Monster.

Ok @dunelm I found you onCMT and added you to my recipe circle
Wow @maglil55 what an accomplishment!! Thank you!
@DJC3 ugh the coughing miserables- so sorry. May it depart quickly.
@Goonergal sounds like you’re going to have fun next month, I envy you the decorating but not the hassle surrounding it!
Hugs @BibaBee maybe a good night’s sleep will help!
@SlimLizzy whatever the washer and dryer did does not sound good at all. Why now, right?
Bfast 1/2 avocado, egg, decaf/soy/cream
Lunch brought picnic to mom’s. She had crackers, cheese, a mandarin. I had celery, cherry toms, lc tortilla with almond butter and hemp hearts, and cheese. Was very full and intended to keep supper small but there was that cheese again so too much cheese and some hemp hearts in... Sour Cream! Yum!
Ready for bed but my leg is cramping up bc I stood all day and didn’t get a walk in. Everything I’m trying is just making it cramp up, so I have to go out in the chilly rain and take a little walk. Grrrr.
Night all, morning all!

So sorry to hear you’re still having problems with cramps - so painful.

I've found you too and added you to my circle. You need to do the same.
Done.
I now need to gather all the recipes, printed on sheets of A4 or scribbled on scraps of paper, from the cupboard of alchemy and mystery and transmogrify into electrons and small bits of computer handshakes.
I wonder why I can’t do it from the BBC food site?

I just tried it successfully for a random salad with halloumi in it. When I was installing the CMT button, my phone required me to do it on its Safari browser, which is not my default browser. So every recipe I find, I have to first open in Safari, and only then do I have the CMT button. Maybe you have some similar thing going on? Good luck!
Edit: pS that “random salad” looks eminently LC adaptable. Hemp hearts for the couscous, chicken or salmon etc for the garbanzo beans, and the rest pretty much as is. Yum summer come soon!

Bed 6.1 FBG was also 6.1. Although we intended going out last night we remained at home. Rain coming down in a torrent and no let up so no way I was going out in that. Just as well I bought something then.
Swimming lesson day so a bit of a nibbling day.
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream. 2 Tesco chorizo and gouda rollitos.
L. At swimming and No 2 finally swam unaided. Backstroke as well. The look of absolute joy on his face was really something. Once I got back another 2 rollitos and 2 lamb koftas.
D. My usual campari and soda and a few assorted nuts. Rib eye with pepper sauce, green beans, mushrooms and veggie chips. Later on wee scoop of halo top, raspberries and 2 squares of Montezuma black forest (that stuff is so addictive).
Will need to catch up on the posts later.
