What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

We used to eat it a lot when I worked in Kenya and Uganda. It’s called Tilapia there and popularly served with Ungali and piri piri, very hot chili peppers. I
@Tipetoo and @dunelm aha! Tilapia I know! It’s a very common and inexpensive fish here, usually farmed if fresh (yuk).
Here's the difference between Tilapia and Nile Perch, they are two different species of fish. Nile Perch are related to the Australia Barramundi.

They are both invasive species and are banned from being imported live into the country.

@Chook best wishes for a speedy recovery -sounds very frustrating.
Today all I drank was TWAM - may be some water later. I ate 2 ryvita linseed and nigela seed crackers, buttered, with smashed avocado and egg mayo for lunch. Evening meal was about 160 gms tuna steak flash fried in garlic butter (left over from Julie's garlic prawns), enormous salad then small bowl of h/m trifle.
Still playing around with ideas but basic structure not much changed.

@Chook , @zauberflote @Brunneria , hope you get better soon.

Lunch; a 90 sec bread, this time using soaked chia seeds to replace egg. Topped with cream cheese and salad stuff.

Dinner: roasted Mediterranean veg and a portobello mushroom stuffed with spinach, egg, chopped up rollitos, and topped with mozzarella.

Lots of poorly people around - @Chook and @zauberflote get well soon and @Brunneria hope you manage to avoid the Nasty sounding lurgy that Mr B is suffering from. Hugs heading the way of you poorly people - but def virtual I hate having a tummy bug!
Restricted eating window today
Lunch serrano ham wrapped around bits of cheese
Dinner omelette filled with mushrooms, chicken and grated cheese with green salad followed by sf jelly and yoghurt.

Thanks for that @BibaBee. In general I fully subscribe to the get what you pay for rule but with LC not so much. I just want the nasty taste of dark chocolate gone with minimal bg rise. If that works we may graduate to better quality although I suspect this is another case where "store bought" (Green and Blacks) beats home made. Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
I made some orange flavoured chocolate a few months ago and it was very nice, but that was 85% and not 100%. Like you, I can't quite get a taste for the hard stuff!

I also use these, available at Lakeland but probably cheaper elsewhere. They are very concentrated, supposedly natural and no added sugar. https://www.foodieflavours.com/

Sending healing vibes to @Chook and @zauberflote.

First day back at work today. Thankfully not as bad as I envisaged, despite not sleeping well last night at all.

Breakfast: Vanilla chia pudding with berries. Usual coffee with cream
Lunch: Smoked mackerel salad with fennel, chicory, cucumber, tomatoes and ACV and EVO dressing.
Afternoon: A cheeky Diet Coke
Dinner: Leftover roast chicken, cauliflower and broccoli cheese, spinach, pigs in blankets. Leftover LC pancake with smidge of butter and chia jam. Decaf coffee.

Mr B may also have had the pleasure of a couple of almond milk cappuccinos, such is the life working from home! I had a few mugs of green tea and rosehip and hibiscus.

@Chook Mr B has just had exactly your experience! Virus/cold symptoms that morphed into a vomit bug for 24 hrs, and now back to sore throat. He thought it was 2 separate illnesses, but maybe not...

So far, I have escaped :doctor:

I haven't been anywhere near him, honestly!! ;)

I wish this was just vomiting - yes, i know, TMI.

Just have to say, moved to spring clothes for one day here....Then took off the jacket!! 70+F and very mild- it’s going to rain any minute now.
@everybody cos I can’t keep track- for some reason I am feeling fairly normal today! I’ve got an antibx waiting for pickup but I may hold off taking it until I see which way things go.
Everybody keeps talking about manchego and I saw some in Costco just now, so home it comes! Also took a pic for #tilapiagate:

Mrs Listlad likes Tilapia (imported). The Nile perch sounds intriguing being such a long way from Oz as a I thought you guys would be self sufficient in fish?

Breakfast: Buttered keto muffin topped with cheddar cheese. Chunk of Camembert .
Lunch : 25gram 85% choc bar, handful of peanuts and a clementine.
Dinner : Spaghetti bolognese but with broccoli rice for me instead of pasta. Bowl of Greek yoghurt with some proper stewed fresh rhubarb, first I had seen this season, instead of the wimpish other stuff I had last week.

Copious tea.

Supper. Camembert and walnuts.

7 mile walk along the north side of the Thames in warm sunshine.

Snack. Too many mixed nuts
D. Cheddar and Swiss chard fritters with roasted Mediterranean vege followed by Greek yogurt and stewed rhubarb ( and more nuts!)
I hope all of you who are not feeling well recover very soon.

We are, but a lot gets exported to SE Asia and China, so I do not always feel like always paying >$30.00 for a kilo of fish when I can get a feed of fish for $10.00 a kilo .

I haven’t read through todays posts yet - I’ll get distracted if I do so going to post mine first-
B: 2 small boiled eggs with the last little bit of a Lidl roll I found in the freezer - toasted with butter and marmite. CWC
L: Started off being a salmon fillet and salad, but the salmon tasted very sweet - checked pack and it was ‘honey roasted’ who wants sweet fish? I ask you!
Chucked it and replaced with a small tin tuna.
Made some more of @shelley262 ‘s crispbreads so had a couple of those with it. 3 strawberries and cream after.
D: Wasn’t supposed to have any, don’t usually bother after yoga, but I’d made chicken soup for the girls and it smelled nice so had a small bowl.
Now to catch up on everyone else’s...
