What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I shall look out for them, but have a feeling they might only be available in Scotland. I don’t think Ive seen them here.
I'm pretty sure it's a Scotland only thing. They're in a plastic egg box - clear. They're local eggs.

Just noticed I had today's BGs on yesterdays food. Should have been bed 6.1 FBG 6.8 but still with a DP surge. As I mentioned No 2 was "in custody" at school. Not happy but at least he got through the day. It was son's 40th today and he was working poor soul. Hubby & I took ourselves off to the Fort because he managed to lose his wedding ring at the football. Think I mentioned before that was the second ring to go AWOL but the circumstances surrounding the first ring were a bit unusual. Regardless, I refused to buy a third ring so I was there to assist in picking it and making sure the size was right. He was feeling a bit lost without it. New ring picked and we go back tomorrow to collect it.
B. TAG with ADOC
L. Nothing
D. Opted for 2 slices deli pork leg, 1 slice ox tongue and 1 slice Turkey. Small avocado, boiled egg (another double yolk @DJC3), M&S whipped cheese and Helmans. Later had a scoop of that Graham's goodness ice cream from Lidl with raspberries.
Wednesday tomorrow. Woke up sure it was Friday today. A bit disappointing.

@maglil55 just curious, was your nightmare LA arrival before or after 9/11? If after, how long after? TSA had to ramp up their creation and how they were going to implement things in a little less time than anybody would have liked. Airports were crazy for a few years, because nobody knew what they were doing, and then things settled in. I would have spoken to my fellow American MUCH sooner. Very much sooner. Not being Britishly polite, you see. I’m glad you’ve had some good experiences too!
@Rachox tuna melts in my CMT too!

Before. We were herded into a queue (which was the wrong queue) stuck for 1 hr only to be told we were in the wrong place and had been given the wrong form as well! Then to cap it all we had another one screeching for us to collect our luggage, which we couldn't because we were still on the immigration side. Washington Dulles on the other hand was wonderful.
My brother (the one who died last year) always had a little shiver about 9/11 because he realised exactly 1 year before he was gazing out from the windows on the world. I was in New York before and after 9/11.

Bfast usual 1/2 avocado but with about 1/4 cup skyr for taking my antibx with, egg, DWC for M 90% C in mouth with. 16 oz salted chix broth after.
Lunch 2 cans seltzer. Second one right before supper - I bought root beer flavor while in Kroger and just had to try it. Not as good as draft A&W was 50 years ago at the A&W drive-in with the boyfriend, abut meets or exceeds all mass produced root beer flavors.
Supper marinated tuna steak, celery and baby bellas in herbed-hempseed skyr/dijon mustard dip.
Heading out to the grill, which had fired “farred” as we may say here) up perfectly and preheated itself to 700F :

I figure it’s ok to post on top of @rachox’s Instagram-worthy dinner plate because everybody will be posting tuna melts tomorrow, I heard. I wonder what adding a little flax or chia seed to that recipe would do to the flavor? Would need to be pre-moistened of course.
Sleep well all, hello graveyard shift workers, and good morning to all when the sun comes up!

@DCUKMod I’ve just been looking up Omron scales but they’re a bit more than my budget allows for, especially as I hardly ever weigh myself.
I might look again come Black Friday!

If you do look at the Omrons, or similar, I suggest choosing some with hand grasps, as they allegedly help with accuracy, due to the additional data points for the impedance scanning.

If that's going too far, Lidl sometimes do body monitor scales at their astonishing price point. If Lidl do, Aldi probably do too

Still laughing at Tyne and Wear Archives &Museums @dunelm
When are you going to Texas?

Hi @DJC3 - off on Monday to New York and don’t get to Texas until 7th April after which we will have a few days in Washington DC to catch up with some friends.
@Listlad - Going to Austin as I have a sister somewhere on the Chisholm trail between Austin and San Antonio - should be fun.
@zauberflote , @maglil55 - We have been to the USA several times (LA, San Francisco, NY and a road trip many years ago from Washington, through the Appalachian Mountains and eventually ending up in Oklahoma City staring at a statue of John Wayne) the airports are always the most - what’s the word - “interesting” - or should that be “intense”.
I think, for me, it’s a combination of not being used to so many people all trying to do the same thing and equally frustrated staff. It has got a little more tense at international airports since 9/11.[/QUOTE]

In early and posting fullest details of my intake and outgoings for the day. This represents absolute lowest I can go (carbs, cals and enjoyment as a baseline to work from) walking will be longer and is never a pleasure but best fit category. That will somehow be turned into 2 "meals" - avocado, 1 egg and mackerel mashed for lunch 3 eggs and cheese into an omelette for evening (obs not hard boiled). Lunch may be lost due to "business"

Glad to hear it you have had a rotten time. Did you make chicken broth with the defrosted wings?

Hi Rachox do you think the tuna could be replaced with tin salmon? Dont know if thats more carby but wouldnt have thought much! TIA

What a good idea. I’m sure they’d work just as well with salmon. Salmon is zero carb unless smoked, then it’s still minimal carbs.

Thanks will give that a go then...dont like tinned tuna as its what our cats have for dinner lol.

@dunelm I hope you took the Blue Ridge Pkwy for at least some of that trip. Still one of my top ten happy places. Yeah, airports. I’ve only done international flights a few times, so when I’m waiting for domestic connections, I have found the international concourses to be very quiet places in my walkabouts. I think you get numb after a while, and there develops a camaraderie both at the home airport and at whichever gate you’re at waiting for the leg that puts you home. Also in security lines!
@ianpspurs I have zero interest in your outgoings when mentioned next to your intake Especially when you’re going to call it “business”... Anyway, that is a seriously low carb day. Been thinking about Julie - how is she doing in the recovery?
Happy for you @Chook !!!!
Busy day. Take Mom out for lunch and a movie - To Kill A Mockingbird! Business meeting at church on important decision, which I nay have to leave before the rubber-stamp vote to make it to (yay!) ballet class. I feel like I’ll be accomplishing a @maglil55 quarter-day. Trying to figure out how I can get away with not eating lunch when Mom is. Not sure I can. Dementia is a strange space.

Edit to add- my stalled weight loss seems to have made a small 2 lb lurch down, that has held for a week. Who loses 2 lb on vacation??????

Same here - except that its poorly dogs that have it if they haven't got much appetite.
