It depends on your version of palatable. I enjoy it and I find it filling but i know i enjoy things that you don't like.. I believe the idea behind it is to increase your fat intake.

i don't think there is a proper recipe - all I do is put 150ml extra thick double cream in to a small bowl and a very heaped teaspoon of almond butter - and add a bit of sweetener to taste - then beat it with with a very small whisk or teaspoon until its thick and well blended (think mousse texture).. Then eat. I think
@Goonergal adds chocolate to hers but I am still on my quest to find a suitable chocolate that I like.
You can make it with normal double cream but it takes much longer to whisk and there is a risk of RSI.
